Chapter 6

It was about ten in the morning by the time the limo arrived at the house, it was three stories and painted a plain beige color, very different from the black ones in hell. The boys looked out the windows as they saw humans mowing their lawns, walking dogs, and even going for a jog, it was so...foreign.

As the boys exited the car and looked up at the house, a few neighbors turned and watched as they walked up to the door, fumbling with the key they had been given as the movers started unloading their belongings.

The neighbors were bewildered as they realized it was just the two boys who were going to live there. They had known they would have new neighbors, but they weren't expecting ones still in their youth.

"Craig, this place is awesome." Evan whispered as they noticed the spiral staircase in the middle of the foyer, the dining room branching off to the right of it and the living room to the left. Not even the houses in hell were this nice, and demons always had a craving for luxury.

The teens explored the second floor, where the bedrooms were, and found that most of the rooms had been painted in grayscale, with gold and silver accents scattered amongst the property. They picked out their rooms first, choosing the two biggest ones. Evan scored the biggest one, having beat Craig at Rock Paper Scissors best of three. Luckily, the rooms had been painted a solid black so there was no need to repaint it, which they most likely would have considering what they were used to.

Once the movers had transferred all the boxes to their respective rooms they left, wishing the teens luck before driving off in the van. The limo and its driver would stay a few days to help the boys find their way, they would be getting their own car once school started for them.

"Remember boys, you start on Monday at Sorority High School, just a few blocks down the road. The first couple days I'll drive you around so you can get a feel for the city, then I'm off to Hell." Their butler, Sebastian said, the boys nodded in response.

"Alright, thanks Seb. C'mon Evan, lets go set up our rooms!" Craig exclaimed as he walked up the stairs, Evan following behind him.

"I'll call you when dinner is ready!" Sebastian's words echoed through the large, almost empty house. It would be impossible to have not heard him. The teenagers called down responses from their rooms, which they had already began decorating.

About two hours later, Evan was halfway done with his room, most of his boxes had been unpacked, his shelves needed organizing and his framed posters needed to be hung. Craig however, was barely a fourth in, organizing as he went. His bed was made, a few shelves organized, and his computer was ready to go.

Craig and Evan bounded down the stairs once Sebastian called them down for dinner. While they ate, they excitedly discussed what they had seen so far, which was mostly just their neighbors doing chores such as mowing their lawns. However boring this may seem to you, they only had dead grass in Hell, so they had been unaware that humans had to cut their grass once it grew too long, they didn't even know grass could grow.

The rest of their Friday night consisted of unpacking and research of human culture.

On Saturday they went furniture shopping, learning about human currency and how it was used. It was surprisingly easy.

"So, what you're telling me is that humans use this piece of paper and various circles of metal as currency? Like a trade almost?" Evan asked Sebastian, who was explaining currency on their way to the mall.

"Yes, sir, it's like a trade. Except it becomes a bit more complicated, you see, here they have these things called taxes, so it adds money to the total. And each 'piece of paper' has a different value. Like one dollar, five dollars, ten dollars, twenty dollars, fifty dollars and a hundred dollars. I think it would be easier for me to show you."

"Wow, humans are complicated beings. And I thought demons were impossible to understand. Turns out they're simpler than I thought." Evan mumbled as Sebastian continued to explain money to the two hopeless demons.

By the time they had reached the mall, Craig and Evan had a pretty solid understanding of how currency worked.

"Are you absolutely sure you can handle yourselves?" Sebastian asked, opening the limo door for the demons.

They looked at each other, giving the other a slight nod. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure we can manage." Craig said, smiling at their butler. "We'll call if we need you, I think IPhones are one of the only things we understand right now."

"Of course, boys. IPhones are pretty easy to understand, wish we had these back home. Alright, well I'll be at home if you need me. Call when you want to be picked up." Sebastian said, climbing back into the limo.

"Alright, later Seb." Evan called, walking towards the mall as their butler drove off. "So do we actually know what we're doing?"

"No, I thought you did!"

"No! But don't worry, I mean, what could be so complicated about a shopping center?!"

The boys walked in and gulped, seeing all the stores and the large ceiling.

"Everything, everything can be complicated about this."
