Chapter 22
Early update because the season 12 finale of Supernatural has got me in the feels, I gotta go cry in my corner now.....hope you enjoy.
-------------------
Sunday. Eleven AM. Evan was tapping his foot irritatedly as he waited for Craig to finish getting ready. He fixed the dark red beanie he had pulled on because he was too lazy to fix his hair, there was only a tuft of his hair peaking out at the front. An empty soda can rested on the front hall entrance table, Evan once again drinking it rather than have a real breakfast.
His backpack was lying next to him, he had taken it off his shoulder and rested it there after Craig had taken more than half an hour.
The funny thing was, they were supposed to meet the guys fifteen minutes ago at Jonathan's house. But here they were.
Normally, Evan would continuously yell at his brother until he finally came downstairs, which would take about ten minutes, but he refused to talk to him after their argument last night. Evan was still mad at him, and the fact that they were late was not helping.
Finally, he caved. They were forty five minutes late.
"Craig! We are forty five minutes late! You've been getting dressed for four hours!! You have exactly thirty seconds to get down here before I go up there and drag your ass!" He snarled towards upstairs, earning a quick-not to mention loud- shuffling noise as he counted off the seconds in a loud voice.
"17! 18! 19! 20!" He shouted as he heard a door open and rushed footsteps, he counted faster. "26! 27! 28! 29!" Craig appeared at the top of the stairs, coming down as he skipped two stairs at a time.
"I'm ready! I'm ready! Let's go." He said, panicked.
Evan rolled his eyes, annoyed, picking up his backpack and walking out the door. "Shut the fuck up and move, asshat." He growled, storming off down the sidewalk, not caring if his fellow demon was behind him.
------------------
Fifteen minutes later, making them an hour late, the two boys arrived at Jonathan's house, where their friends were sitting on the curb, waiting for them.
"You two are an hour late, what the hell happened?" Brian asked, standing up as well as everyone else.
Evan once again rolled his eyes, not bothering to hide his annoyance as he joined them, pointing back at Craig. "Blame that prick who need four fucking hours just to look like a presentable piece of shit." He growled, alerting everyone that he was not in the type of mood they wanted to mess with.
Jonathan didn't seem intimidated as he rushed up to Evan and pulled him into a hug. "I'm so glad to see you after you went MIA yesterday. I missed you." He whispered into his ear as Evan relaxed and hugged him back.
"Good to see you too." He said, his voice sounding a bit harsher than he had intended, but sometimes Evan just couldn't control his anger. What could he say? It was a demon thing.
Luckily, Jonathan didn't notice. "Alright, well, everyone's here. Let's go shall we?" He asked, still staying by Evan's side, even though Evan and Craig were having a glare off.
"Yeah, let's go." David said, glancing nervously between the two demons who looked they could rip each other's throats out. "Come on."
Jonathan started walking, pulling Evan out of the glare he was throwing at his brother as he followed him, picking up his pace to walk beside him.
The others followed behind, Tyler staying at the back of the group with Craig since it was obvious that him and Evan shouldn't be near each other.
Once they reached the busier part of the city, Evan pulled his hood over his head and pulled out a pair of sunglasses from who knows where, just in the case the story of him saving the mayor got out. Jonathan thought nothing of it, since he was already used to his attitude about certain things and he was known to do things to express said attitude.
----------------------------
Although they had never been to a movie theater, the demons kept their excitement and confusion in the down low. Even though Evan couldn't couldn't help but letting out a small, quiet compliment about the popcorn Jonathan had gotten for both of them to share.
"This is amazing." He whispered under his breath as he popped a few kernels in his mouth. Jonathan laughed at him.
"You haven't tried much, have you?" He joked, smiling at Evan as he ate another handful.
"Apparently not." Evan agreed, handing the movie theater worker their tickets.
"Theater 3, on your right. Enjoy your movie." She smiled brightly at the two, thinking they were a couple since they were so close together.
Evan nodded, following Jonathan to the theater as their friends got past the ticket lady as well.
They found decent seats, giving them a great view of the giant screen, which was currently black. The theater itself had dark red walls, and was dimly lit by several wall lamps.
Once they had sat down, it was only a few more minutes until advertisements started playing in the screen, and by then the boys were all set to watch the movie.
Surprisingly, it was a horror movie, and in the first few minutes, everyone except the two demons had screamed.
-------------------------
When the movie ended, and they had exited the theater, mostly everyone was silent. Except the two demons, who were so amazed by the movie, and the only two who weren't scared at all.
"Did you see the way they ripped off her head? That was incredible! And the special effects on that demon-ghost thing was awesome! It was like it was actually real!" Craig exclaimed, earning shocked looks from his friends, excluding Evan of course.
"How did you not think that was gross? That movie was terrifying and disgusting all at once!" David said, using hand gestures for emphasis.
"No way, that movie was not scary at all, it was just incredible! I mean, the things movie makers can do!" Evan said excitedly, agreeing with Craig for the first time all day.
"Well, I guess it was worth it if you two weirdos enjoyed it, you psychopaths." Brian joked, trying to steer the conversation away from the movie, which he had found particularly disturbing.
"We're just cooler than you." Craig said smugly, smirking may Brian.
"Uh huh, yeah, sure you are. Now if you excuse me, I have to go puke my guts out, which happened in the movie also." Brian replied before walking into the bathroom, everyone except the demons following suit.
Evan and Craig leaned against the wall in silence, not so much as looking at one another, their temporary truce now over. Occasionally they cast a glare at one another but that was about it.
-----------
Half an hour later the two had went outside, getting irritated by the loud noises inside the theater, still not speaking to each other.
Meanwhile the guys were washing their hands, or should I say caught up in conversation when they were supposed to be washing their hands.
"I'm telling you, those brains had to have been real." Marcel said.
"No way, they can't fit that in the budget, brains are expensive." Lui countered.
"Not to mention illegal to be in a movie other than a documentary." Tyler said, butting in.
Jonathan had just finished washing his hands when realization dawned on him. "Guys?"
He was ignored. "People do illegal things all the time, it's Hollywood, they know people." Marcel argued.
"Guys?"
"I'm sure even Hollywood has its limits, Marcel. There's no way-"
"Guys!" Jonathan exclaimed more loudly, catching their attention.
"What?" Brian snapped, annoyed that Jonathan had cut him off when he was about to make a good point.
"We just left Evan and Craig together."
"Oh, shit."
