So little fact about this chapter, I ended up making this 4k words so I had to do the same thing I did to chapter 2 which was to make it two separate chapters, so today will be chapter 8 but tomorrow chapter 9 will be out, consider it my way of celebrating the holidays, so yeah.

Lohan was the first to wake up, he looked around his room and decided to get up, he quickly put on a shirt, aware of the fact that Alicia was sleeping in the living room and didn't want to scare the woman. He then left his room to make himself a cup of coffee, he quietly walked into the kitchen and started to pour some water into the coffee maker as he listened to the noises outside.

"It's quiet here without you." He said as he looked out the window.

He was proud to say that he considered Richard a friend even though they were complete opposites. The man was kind to him, he considered him family, he helped him get adjusted to domestic life, and when Lohan told him that he would go back to Hong Kong to search for his family he was supportive of his decision. He eventually found his father and some of his family members but they gave him the decision to either stay in Hong Kong or to stay in Great Britain, he ended up staying in Great Britain to protect the five. He remembered the day he asked Richard why he stayed with Matt, why he stayed with the five when he could have gone back to his normal life.

They were in the kitchen making dinner, Lohan had always wondered how Richard could live like this, living with five of the world's future saviors and a triad.

"Richard, can I ask you something?"

"Sure, what is it?"

"Why did you decide to stay with the five?"

"What?" Richard responded.

"You have had many opportunities to leave them with the Nexus and continue with your normal life, why didn't you?"

Richard shrugged."I guess you can say that I grew attached to them, they can be brats sometimes but they're great to be around, makes the place more interesting, not only that but I also consider them family."

"...Do you consider me as family too?" Lohan asked as he wondered what the journalist thought of him, he regretted his words once they left his mouth.

Richard chuckled a little at Lohan's question. "Of course I do."

"Why?"

"Well you may be a Triad but that doesn't matter to me, you've shown that you can be trustworthy and even though you tend to be cold sometimes, I believe that that deep down you're a kind person." Richard explained, he'll admit that at first he was intimidated by the Triad but he knew that deep down that he was a nice person, or at least a decent person. "For example, you could have just stayed in Hong Kong but instead you decided to stay here with us."

Lohan blushed a bit at Richard's last statement but it was true, when he left for Hong Kong there was a part of him that wanted to stay in Great Britain with the five and Richard, that was probably why it was easy for him to decide between Hong Kong or Britain.

"You're a good man, Richard," Lohan spoke with a smile.

"Is that a smile I see!" Richard teased the triad who just looked away from the journalist.

Lohan was ordered to protect the five but unlike Lohan, Richard was willing to do anything to protect the five but not because he was forced too, but because he genuinely cared for them.

"How did you do it?" Lohan noticed that the coffee was done and started to pour it in a mug.

"Morning Lohan," Alicia greeted as she walked into the kitchen. "I see you made some coffee, may I have some?"

"Of course."

In Lohan's opinion, Alicia was rather interesting, she was older than both him and Richard, she still lived a normal life, and she was loyal to the five, mostly towards Jamie and Scott. Just like Richard, she would make the five feel normal, the difference between the two was that Alicia was more responsible since she already had a child of her own. Lohan and Alicia's relationship was just mutually respecting each other and that was just it, they never really spoke to one another and any conversation they had would always end in awkward silence.

"So, what have you been doing since you got here?" Alicia asked.

"Funeral preparations."

"Oh, when is the funeral?"

"Well earlier this week I talked to Richard's family and the Nexus, we agreed that it would be this Saturday."

"Tomorrow uh? I guess I came here just in time." She took a sip from the caffeinated drink. "Do you think they'll be okay?"

"I don't know," Lohan took a sip from his mug. "The Nexus wants to meet with us so we can discuss what to do about this situation, they want all of us to go, even Matt."

"Is that even a good idea, he doesn't exactly seem like he's in the right condition to meet up with them."

"He hasn't left Richard's room in a while, I believe this is for his own good."

The room was silent once more, Alicia was trying to find some way to keep the conversation going.

"Do you know how to cook?"

"Somewhat, my mother taught me when I was younger so I could take care of myself but I was always occupied with training," Lohan explained.

"Well, since I'm going to be here for a while and I did say I wanted to help, how about I cook us all some breakfast?"

"That would be a good idea."

By the time Alicia started cooking, the others started waking up, Alicia quickly took notice that one person was missing from the table. She brushed it off, thinking that maybe he'll be out any minute now. After she finished cooking though, there was still no sight of Matt, she started to worry.

"So who's going to take it to him?" Scott asked, aware of the fact that Matt was never going to come out.

"Scott!" Jamie scolded.

"We all know he's never coming out of there to eat, who knows if he's even eating."

"Wait Wait Wait, Matt never comes out to eat?" Alicia interrupted, everyone shook their head no.

"No, he just stays there and we end up just giving him the food."

"How about I just bring him out here instead, he's gonna have to leave the room eventually."

The others were a bit confused until Lohan spoke, "I'll explain later, for now how about I go get Matthew, I have a feeling that he might put up a fight."

Lohan got up from his seat and started walking towards Richard's room, once he opened the door all he saw was darkness. He immediately turned on the lights which made Matt shifted a bit due to the sudden light.

"Come on Matt, Alicia made breakfast and she doesn't want you to be alone in this room anymore."

"Leave me alone," Matt whispered.

"Not this time." Lohan went towards the bed, took the blankets that were on top of Matt off, lift the boy by the arms, and started carrying him out of the room.

Matt tried fighting back, he tried throwing objects at Lohan with his powers but he dodged them, he tried kicking but it didn't faze Lohan, he tried getting out of Lohan's grip but the man was much stronger than him and it didn't help that Matt had become weaker. Lohan was aware that Matt would lash out but he didn't know he would lash out like this, it actually made him worry about Matt's mental state. Lohan was able to bring Matt into the kitchen to eat, everyone soon noticed Matt's sudden change of appearance, he was still in his pajamas and his hair was a big mess, his eyes looked dull, and there were dark circles under his eyes.

"Hey Matt, Alicia made breakfast," Scarlett spoke, she didn't want to point out the boy's new appearance.

Lohan placed the boy on an empty chair as Alicia put the plate in front of him.

"Now that Matt is here, the Nexus wants to meet with us this afternoon and they want all of us to go," Lohan clarified. "And when I mean all of us, I mean all of us."

They were aware that Lohan was talking Matt who was currently looking at his plate, Matt raised an eyebrow as he looked at the others.

"I'm not going."

"Come on, Matt, I'm sure they just want to check on us," Scarlett reassured him, he didn't believe her.

"Plus you need a break from staying inside all day, I swear you've gotten more pale than the last time we saw you." Scott pointed out.

"I said I'm not going." Matt's temper started rising.

"Matt, regardless of what you say, you are going no matter what." Lohan addressed, his patience started to wear out.

Matt gave Lohan a blank expression but Lohan could see that he was trying to control his temper. He accepted the fact that he would end up meeting with the Nexus again, he agreed but that didn't stop him from giving everyone the stink eye.

Later

Later in the afternoon, they went to meet with the Nexus, Lohan called them and asked if it was okay if Alicia and Danny could come along and they agreed since she's aware of the Nexus' existence. Alicia shifted her eyes towards Matt, he was sitting alone with a pissed off look, she had a feeling that bringing Matt along would only cause more problems.

"I'm still not sure that Matt should be going with us, look at him," Alicia spoke.

"It's better than keeping him in that room."

"While that is true, shouldn't we take baby steps, like taking him out of the room but keeping him at home."

"Matthew is not a baby, he should be aware that this is for his own good."

"Well as someone who has dealt with grief before I can assure you that grief can cause people to not be in the right headspace." Lohan just looked away from the woman.

They soon arrived at the Nexus' building, there stood Nathalie Johnson who was currently waiting for them.

"It's good to see you all again, follow me." She spoke as she started to guide them inside.

Eventually, they found their way into the room where the meeting would be held, everyone who was a part of the Nexus were already seated and were waiting for the five to arrive, they quickly took their seats as Ms. Ashwood started to talk.

"It's good to see you all again."

"I hope you don't mind that I brought my son along." Alicia spoke as she patted Danny's head.

"It's quite alright, if I remember correctly Danny was kidnapped by Nightrise a while back, aside from Scott he's the only other person who understands what Nightrise is like." Susan Ashwood pointed out, Alicia responded with a simple yes but was a bit shaken at the memory of her son being taken by them and how she felt. "Anyways, I'm sure you all are aware of what this meeting is about."

"I believe we do, Lohan just told us we were going to meet with you though," Jamie stated.

"A few days ago Richard Cole died and now that he's gone we have to discuss what your living arrangements will be."

"Mr. Cole was arranged to be your guardian with Lohan there to help him, we're aware that Mr. Shan-Tung here travels for business and is sometimes gone for a long period of time." Mr. Lee, a Chinese man who had contact with the Triads spoke. "Mrs. McGuire, how long will you be staying with them?"

"I believe for a few months."

"That should help us with this."

Everyone proceeded to talk about the situation at hand, who would be the five's guardian, how their living situation will be like, and how things will be a little different. Matt just sat there in silence, his blood was boiling as they all spoke, while he usually blamed himself for Richard's death he also blamed the Nexus, if it wasn't for the Nexus sending them on the mission then Richard would still be alive, he would still be with them. Matt continued to ignore them until he heard the word funeral, they explained how the funeral would be tomorrow and how Richard's family suggested they gather at his parents' home.

"We wouldn't need a funeral if you didn't send us," Matt whispered, unfortunately, Mr. Foster, a man from Australia, heard him speak.

"What did you say, Matthew?" He questioned, not sure of what the boy said.

Matt remained silent but Ms. Ashwood could sense anger coming from the boy.

"Matthew, you've been quiet the entire time you've been here, what do you have to say?" Ms. Ashwood asked.

"It's your fault," Matt whispered, he felt his temper take over.

"Excuse me?"

Matt slammed his hand on the table as he stood "IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!"

Before they knew it, everything was being lifted into the air, the chairs, the table, the papers, everyone in the room was being lifted into the air as well. They stayed in their seats as everything was being moved.

"IF YOU HADN'T SENT US ON THAT BLOODY MISSION, RICHARD WOULD STILL BE ALIVE!" Matt lashed out.

No one had ever seen Matt this furious, at least, not to the point where he actually used his powers against them. The others tried to calm Matt down and to persuade him to put them down but they were unsuccessful, Matt continued to yell at them as objects were flying around the room.

"MY BEST FRIEND RISKED HIS LIFE TO PROTECT ME, HE RISKED HIS LIFE SO I COULD LIVE, HE ACTUALLY CARED ABOUT US, AND YET YOU PEOPLE TALK ABOUT HIM AS THOUGH HE WAS JUST THERE BECAUSE YOU HAD NO ONE ELSE TO TAKE CARE OF US!" Tears started to pour out of Matt's eyes.

Lohan was able to get down without getting hit, he went towards Matt and placed both of his hands on Matt's shoulder.

"Matthew, stop it!" Lohan commanded.

Matt felt the firm grasp, he looked at Lohan with tears in his eyes as his face soon turned from anger to regret. Everything was put in place once he calmed down, the others were shocked by what had just happened and were thankful that Lohan was there. Matt started to feel guilt as he looked around the room and realized what he had done.

"I'm..sorry, I-I know I shouldn't have let my anger get the best of me, I-I know it's not your fault, I just-." Matt's voice started to break as tears were rapidly coming out.

"We understand Matthew, although I highly suggest that you never use your powers like that towards anyone in this room." Ms. Ashwood spoke as she readjusted her glasses. "You must realize that you're stronger than you think Matthew and that you can't let your emotions take control of you."

"I-I'm so sorry, I promise I'll never do that again."

"That's good."

Everyone was shaken by the sudden outburst but continued talking once more after that, Matt remained silent throughout the whole meeting feeling guilty about what he had just done, he really hadn't meant to lash out at the others. Once the meeting was over they started heading home, although Lohan did not look too pleased with Matt as they left the building, he looked at the boy with a hint of anger.

"We'll discuss your behavior later."

Looks like Lohan is mad, oh boy.
