Chapter 10: You May Go No Further
Legolas POV
Ships are sailing up the river. I can see mercenaries on them. Aragorn, Gimli, and I await the ships on the shore.
"You may go no further." Aragorn commands when the ship get close enough for the mercenaries to hear. One of them stands and Aragorn continues, "You will not enter Gondor."
"Who are you to deny us passage?" The boson asks as the rest of them start laughing.
"Legolas, fire a warning shot past the boson's ear." Aragorn tells me and I pull out an arrow.
"Mind your aim." Gimli mutters as I notch the arrow to my bow and aim next to his ear.
Just as I release the arrow, Gimli uses his axe and knocks the bottom of my bow making my aim off. The arrow kills a mercenary standing next to the boson. I turn and glare at Gimli.
"Oh!" Gimli gasps, puting his hand to his mouth. "That's it, right, we warned you! Prepare to be boarded!"
The mercenaries laugh again and one questions, "Boarded, by you and whose army?"
Aragon replies, "This army."
The King of the Dead and his army emerge through us and attack the ships, killing the mercenaries.
Aerlinniel POV
"Aerlinniel." I hear a voice whisper. "Aerlinniel get up."
That voice...it sounds like my Naneth's (Mother's).
"Naneth?" I question.
"Aerlinniel, Henig, echuio. (Aerlinniel, my child, wake up.)" My Naneth tells me in a gentle voice.
"Naneth, please. Let me stay with you. I miss you." I beg.
"Iston (I know). But your friends need you. Legolas needs you. You have to get up and fight. I know how strong you are, Aerlinniel, you can do this. Now, come on, wake up my dear."
"Legolas?" I question.
She replies, "Yes, I know who he is and I know how you feel about him. You need him as much as he needs you. You need to tell him how you feel."
"I will...I just do not know how." I admit.
"You will figure it out. I am so proud of you. Of all you have done, and the beautiful, strong elleth you have become. I know you don't want to go, but you must."
"Alright, Naneth. Gi melin. (I love you.)"
"Gi melin, Aerlinniel. Novaer. (Farewell)" She then starts to sing softly and it slowly fades, "Some day you'll see, beautiful mountains.
You'll see the white gulls fly.
You'll see the sea, the pale moon rising.
And all the stars in the sky.
One day you'll see, a sunrise.
A light in the sky, the curse will die.
You will see..."
I sit up, immediately feeling pain in my side, my leg, and on the back of my head. I groan and lay back down.
It was so good to hear my Naneth's voice. And to hear her sing that song that she used to sing to me when I was very young.
"Aerlinniel! Thank goodness you are alive!" A voice jolts me back up into a sitting position.
"Caunedhiel? How did you find me?" I ask, shocked that she is here.
She answers, "It is a long story, but I will have to tell you later. There is a battle going on. Can you stand?"
"I do not know, I am in a lot of pain." I tell her.
"I'll see what I can do to help. We are a pretty far distance from the battle, but we should not linger here long." She informs me.
She puts some elvish medicine on my wounds and wraps them up. She then grabs my arm, helping me to stand. I'm still in pain, but I should be fine for now. Now, time for us to join the battle.
~~~~~~
Omg, a lot happened in this chapter. Aerlinniel got to hear her Naneth's voice again and some of you may remember that song from the first book. ^~^ And also, Caunedhiel is back! :D Hope you all enjoyed this chapter! Updates are every Sunday!
Love you my elves from the realm of llamas,
