I got really nervous when Janelle watched us perform and I wiped my palms on my shirt. I never got this nervous performing in front of someone before.

After we wrapped up, she came over and smiled.

"Great job, Ben. I loved it! Your vocals are great on Dance to the Beat." she said and waved before leaving.

I couldn't wipe that silly grin off my face from her comment.

I have great vocals, she praised my singing, she loved our rehearsal...

Get real, Ben.  the downer voice in my head said. You got a girl, and she's gonna be real angry if she finds out you thinking about someone else beside her, it finished.

I sighed.

Too bad I couldn't just break up with El for my bodyguard.

Just then, the jet shook and I stumbled. "There is turbulence. Ladies and gentlemen, please return to your seats and fasten your seat belts while I try to get our plane journey back to a smooth ride." Captain announced.

I rubbed my eyes and quickly walked back to the seat across Janelle. She was strapped in and watching a movie. I peeked over her shoulder.
