Just then, the girl with jet-black hair spoke.

"Raven." she announced.

Mr Lopez nodded.

"Now, all your trainers will have been assigned to you. Trainers, please go to your trainees. Jai, you're with Janelle, Nate with Nick, Jed with Donovan, Raven with Corrine and Cerise with Dayna. Any objections?" Mr Lopez dared us to ask. With that frosty tone, I don't think any of us would have.

"Why do I get Jai as my trainer, and not a girl?" Janelle asked.

You go, girl, for being brave enough to ask Frosted Lopez.

Mr Lopez stiffened.

"Jai is the only one out of these five who can do judo, and he is good. He can train Ben in some simple self-defense moves as well." he replied and left it at that.

"You recruits will have to come back for training in the summer holidays, which is next week. Anyone cannot make it?" he asked.

Dayna raised her hand.

"Donovan and I are on summer school," she said.

Mr Lopez shook his head.

"I'll settle it with your principal. Anyone else?"

Nobody put their hands up.

"Now, trainers, you can lead your trainees to their training facilities. Recruits, please try to get along with your trainer." Mr Lopez sighed, exasperated from replying to us.

Raven smiled warmly at me while twirling a strand of her hair.

"Know what we're gonna learn?" she asked.

I shook my head. "Um, clubbing?"

She laughed. It was a pleasant tinkling sound.

"Nah, we're going to learn the art of deception," she finished, leading me down the hall to a huge room with five closets.

"The first three are for your work. The fourth is for gym days and fifth for rest days." she said.

I opened the first three.

In the first, there were glitzy dresses.

"For parties and banquets," Raven said.

In the second, there were casual attire.

In the third, formal attire.

"Isn't the third and first cupboard for the same stuff?" I asked.

Raven shook her head.

" Formal's for reporting to Lopez."

Oh.

Before I could peek in the other closets, Raven dragged me to the gym.

I saw Jann, Jai and Benjamin and noticed the heated glare between the two guys.

What just happened?

Apparently, Raven was also thinking the same thing and we ran to check them out.

My theory?

Jai and Benjamin were fighting over the belle Janelle.

Oops,it rhymes and I just called Janelle beautiful again.
