Unicorn Equals Trouble
Episode 3
Part 11
(Comment on my errors please!)
"Hey, do you want to head outside with me?"
Her voice seemed so soft, so filled with care and curiosity. Her face seemed calmed, her eyebrows furrowed slightly from the pressure of having troubles with becoming She-Ra. Her eyes were a bright pale blue, like ice, but it gave off warmth instead of cold. Her soothing smile helped her eyes give off this special warmth.
My whole body seemed to relax. My knees no longer ached, sore muscles acted as though they never were worn. My hard stare softened at the sight.
I stood up to meet her face, well her collarbone really, and walked over to the bookshelf in the corner. I placed the now finished book inside and grabbed another unread one. I nodded at the title slightly before turning back to the taller.
My cold facade melted to a warm smile as I agreed to go outside.
With her.
We climbed down the back way and over to a little flat area, with green grass, purple rocks and slanted trees.
And also a horse.
The same horse that has traveled with us from Thaymor. He seemed quaint as he chewed on the growing green ground.
Adora was glad to see the horse, so much so, that she jogged over to give him a hug. Granted, she just wrapped her arms around his long neck with the sword still in her right hand, but it seemed like a cute reunion despite only being away from each other for an hour. "Horsey! Oh, this is much better. There's actually room to move around here."
I found a shady spot beneath a tree but atop a purple rock. It had a small patch of grass to give me some comfort from the hard surface. Seeing no dew on the plants, I sat down and opened the book.
"Ready to see something cool?" Adora took a deep breath with her eyes closed, before lifting the heavy stick into the air and saying, "For the Honor of Grayskull!"
A bright yellow light emitted, but nothing really happened. The horse didn't look amused as he twitched his left ear.
Adora, now noticing nothing has changed, decided "okay, let's try that again."
She repeated the phrase she used to transform.
And again nothing happened.
The horse turned his back to her and kept eating. She sighed and took a glance towards (Yn). Seeing the teen had her face in the maroon book, she turned back towards the turned away animal.
Adora continued to 'honor Grayskull' while doing different motions to see if it can be triggered by fighting or stabbing movements. She even tripped and the stick lodged itself into the ground. She went as far as whispering the phrase into the blue gem like she was whispering sweet nothings into a lovers ear. (Yep. That's all I could come up with.)
Adora finally laid down on the grass as she stared up at the sky. The pink robe was splayed open under her legs. Hearing the horse neigh, she looked over to see the animal wiggling on the ground, using the grass to scratch his back. "Oh come on! Glimmer's counting on me. Don't leave me hanging here."
She basically begged the sword to work as she stood up and pointed to sword into the sky once again. "For the Honor of Grayskull!"
A crackling light appeared, and finally catching the bookworm's attention.
Before a bright beam shot out, ricocheting of trees and rocks before hitting the horse. "Horsey, no!"
"Adora, move!" The (ec) eyed girl ran, book left behind, forgotten, and pulled on the pink cloak, forcing the tree of a teen to stumble back slightly.
The animal turned pale yellow/white as colorful wings, a horn, and peach hair grew out of the horse. His coat was no longer the beige that we first saw, but no a clean white. His horn gave off the last shine from the magical transformation, before he opened his newly blue eyes.
He looked around at himself, seeing the new wings, hair, fur/coat, and horn for himself. He suddenly freaked out at the change and galloped wildly and fluttering randomly. "Horsey, it's okay!"
The unicorn, I guess, ran off to the rebellion refuge area. A place full of tents and citizens of Bright Moon, or people who joined the rebellion. A place that also has soldiers with pointy metal sticks called swords and actual wood stick things called arrows. So this might cause a problem, especially once Adora, a recently and unofficial traitor to the Horde, ran in to calm down the winged beast.
"Adora! Be careful!"
People shouted in sudden fright as the beast stabbed its horn into a barrel and did a quick loop in the air with his new modification. "Wait! Stop! Horsey, wait!"
Some soldiers started to come onto the scene. Seeing more sharp metal triggered a spike of fear in the ex-horde soldier. (Yn) gulped slightly before continuing to run after the blonde. She apologized to everyone she bumped into, and to the people who seemed annoyed at the inconvenience. "Hooorrsseeeyyy!!"
Hearing Adora yell, (Yn) quickly upped her speed and chased after the sound. Only to catch the sparkly pink robe on her face.
I yelled at the contact with the cloth, causing me to slip and fall backwards. Getting a grasp, I pushed it off and took in a good chunk of oxygen before looking ahead at the horde soldier. The horse flew away, after blowing off the cape on Adora with his wings alone, and everyone had started to see the crimson symbol on the back of Adora's long sleeve. A soldier quickly pulled out her sword and yelled, "Horde solder!"
Yeah obviously.
Oh this is no time to be sarcastic, (Yn)!
I quickly jumped up and ran towards her, stopping just in time and stuck out my hands, trying to shake off their assumptions and that she was with me.
...Before she grabbed my waist and pulled me to her chest, switching her hold from my body to my mouth instead, trapping my arms beneath hers. "(Yn)—?"
"Wait, stop! You don't understand!" She tried to defend herself but...
"(Yn)? She's being kidnapped! Stop there Horde scum!"
I froze as people started talking.
"Of course they would go for the girl who knows everything about everything."
"We can't let her get away with this."
"They would have better luck with a higher up, or an actual soldier, not some book worm."
"She's the reason we keep getting attacked!"
Insults mixed with worry swam in the air. My arms trembled as my hands gripped tightly onto the arms holding me. My whole body shook as I whimpered into her hand.
Adora, seeing my panic, moved her hand from my mouth to my eyes, pushing my head into her collarbone. My hands moved, one keeping a hold on her arm and the other reaching down to her side, grabbing tightly on her shirt. I gasped out hot air as she pointed the sword out to the slightly armored people. "Stop it! Everything's fine! I'm not with the Horde anymore. Just listen!"
A soldier walked forward, sword at the ready. Adora scoffed and quickly turned me around, before lifting me and docking me on her shoulder like a backpack, with the result of me yelping. The soldier brought her sword up to swing but Adora defended and pushed her out of the way. Her one-arm grip on me tightened, and I clutched onto her back as much as I can. I almost wrapped my own legs around her so she can use both hands while I cling tight like a sloth/koala.
However once a bull like lady stared charging, Adora dropped me and pushed me away. She, herself, jumped backwards to avoid me clinging back on, and to avoid getting hit by horns.
Two females grabbed onto my noodle like arms, keeping me from running after her or from escaping in general. As I bawled, I saw Adora glance back at me with a kind smile before tearing open a tent and running away from me. I choked on my sobs and tears, reaching out my hand towards her direction,
"ADORA!!!"
Meanwhile,
"For the last time, what is this grand surprise that I'm supposed to be so impressed with?" Queen Angella, Princess Glimmer, and Archer Bow, walk down the well light up hallway in the castle at Bright Moon.
"You'll see it in just a minute mom, I promise. Bow, can you go check and make sure that the surprise is ready for us?" Glimmer turns to Bow slightly.
"You got it princess." Bow gives the pinkette finger guns and runs off ahead.
"I like that boy." Angella approves.
"I know you do, mom. You'll like this surprise even more." Glimmer chuckles.
Bow runs back and pulls Glimmer to the side, away from the Queen. "So... problem—"
"What?" Glimmer whispers back before a soldier enters.
"Your Majesty. A Horde spy has been discovered on the Bright Moon Grounds. She attacked our troops with a sword and then fled with the help of a winged beast. We have also intel that she has taken commander (Yn) as a hostage."
Glimmer and Bow stood in fear, clumping together in fright as the Queen emphasized each word of her next sentence. "What did you do?!"
—-////—-///—-///—-////—-
Soldiers stood tall and seemed to act like they were a part of the wall as I was pulled into the throne room by my arms, my feet dragging on the pink(?) floor. My eyelids felt heavy and my cheeks were stained with tears.
I felt numb.
Especially to Angella's yelling.
"How could you possibly think this was acceptable?!"
"Mom, you don't understand. You're not listening!" Bow and Glimmer stood in front of the Queen, surrounded by cloaked and armed soldiers and some fighters from the refuge.
The air felt tense as the Queen and her daughter argued in front of everyone.
"You've shown remarkably poor judgment. Allowing a Horde soldier into Bright Moon without telling me?! And now (Yn) was taken as a hostage! What is going on?!"
Bow tried to defend the two of his female friends. "Your Majesty, it's not Glimmer's fault. Or (Yn)'s."
"Bow, I think it is time you went home. Glimmer, (Yn), and I have a lot to discuss." Her voice was stern and cold.
"Mom!" A bright light interrupted her sentence, making us shield our eyes.
Enter in a glowing She-Ra.
Everyone gasped. But (Yn)'s dulled eyes stayed locked onto the shiny floor.
As the tree of a blonde walked towards the Queen's throne, she passed by the locked up and practically dead bookworm. Seeing her bland (Ec) eyes, She-Ra walked over and crouched down slightly.
The glowing light caught the teen's attention as she looked up. The kind face of the familiar friend triggered light and a smile, back onto (Yn)'s face.
Blondie smiled warmly once the now happy teen muttered her name. "...Adora..."
Adora nodded slightly and pat her head, combing down the messy (hc), before standing and making her way to the winged royalty.
Angella stood in shock. "It can't be."
"I was trying to tell you. Mom, meet—!"
The Queen cut her own daughter off as she said the goddess' name before her. "She-Ra."
She-Ra walked in-between the smiling princess and archer. "Your Majesty, I've come to pledge myself to the rebellion. But first, there's something you should know."
She-Ra de-transformed to reveal it was really Adora, the horde soldier.
Everyone in the room, except those in the Best Friend Squad, gasped at the reveal. "She's a Horde soldier."
"Mom, this is Adora." Glimmer grabbed the blonde's arm and pushed her forward, before letting go and backing away to her earlier spot. Adora went down to her knee and held out the First One tech.
"I know you have no reason to trust me, Your Majesty. But I've seen for myself the atrocities the Horde has committed against the people of Etheria. A-and I'm sure (Yn) has too! We both want to fight against the Horde to stop them. I never intended to hurt her, or anyone on your side. Please give me a chance, I know I—we, can help the Rebellion turn the tide of the war."
The Queen shifted slightly unsure, but upon seeing her daughter's smile and nod, her decision was final.
She grabbed the sword that was held out to her by the handle and carried it gently with both hands. "I know the legend of the warrior the First Ones called She-Ra."
Adora looked up when she started to speak. "They said she would return to us in the hour of our greatest need to bring balance to Etheria. I never thought she was anything more than a myth. And yet you're here now. And in the uniform of a Horde soldier, no less. You would pledge to stand with us against those you once served?"
"Yes. I would."
"And you, (Yn)?" The teen was startled by her sudden involvement, but answered honestly nonetheless.
"Yes, Your Majesty. Of course I would." She bowed her head slightly. The Queen nodded in acknowledgment and turned towards her daughter.
"Glimmer, you would vouch for her and take responsibility for her? For both of them?"
Glimmer stepped forward, a smile on her face. "Yes."
Angella looked down at Adora, "Then rise. The Rebellion accepts your allegiance She-Ra, Princess of Power. And stand (Yn), please."
Adora stood up and grabbed her sword back, the people chanting her name ("She-Ra! She-Ra! She-Ra!") as I stood up weakly and rubbed my arms, all feeling flowing back into my body.
Unfortunately, it was mostly pain.
Seeing Bow, I called out for him and made graby hands, meaning I needed help. He smiled at me and rushed to get me and reunite us with the Best Friend Squad.
He pushed me to the slightly smaller tree, (Bow is the real tree) and she quickly had a hold of me. Moisture filled my eyes once again, but from happiness. I wrapped my arms around her neck and shoved my face into the area of where her neck and shoulder meet. I sighed in relief as warmth, her warmth, rushed around my body when she hugged me back.
Glimmer jumped on us from the left, shouting, "Welcome to Bright Moon!"
"But for real this time." Bow said as he joined in on the other side.
Adora was overwhelmed with happiness, but it really over flowed when she took one more glance down at the smallest teen attached to her body.
(Glimmer, Adora/(Yn), bow)
"Hey (Yn), what happened to that book you were reading?"
"...SHIT—!!"
(Author note: soooo. I was gonna have reader go with Adora to meet madam razz, but while writing and watching along with the show, I decided for more angst. Plus it would take forever to write the whole episode and I still got three more seasons, and I think there's another one coming soon too. Plus, this episode is more focused on Adora trying to control the sword and Catra trying to adjust in the Fright Zone without Adora.
Anyway, I've been thinking about updating twice a week so we can speed up a bit faster. Unless you guys are okay with waiting every Friday for an update
Maybe increase my word count because I only write between 1500 and 1800 words for normal chapters. Maybe bump it up to between 2000 to 2200?
This chapter was 2500 and last weeks was 1800. Just to help you guys visualize.
What do you guys think?
Either twice a week with chapters being between 1500 to 1800 words
Or
Every Friday with chapters being 2000 and up.
Comment and vote.
Thank you! )
(Also why tf is Angella's name spelled with two Ls?? Like wtf bro)
(Also glimmer reaches to about Adora's ear and reader reaches Adora's chin,
meaning reader really is the smallest of the group.
And bow is like two inches taller then Adora. Bow is the real tree.
Whoopsies!)
EDIT 6.2.22
i changed from (yn) looking like an imposter to a hostage. :)
