Kitty?

Episode 2
Part 9

Bow, Adora and I were eating some sweets against a wall, while Bow questions Adora, and very subtly me, about parties in the Fright Zone. "So, seriously? No parties, ever? What do you do on your birthday?"

"Huh?" Bow hands over a small pink ball of sugar to the blonde as she chows down on some cotton candy, while not understanding his question.

"No birthdays?!" He looks over at me when the blonde looks away to stare down the pink treat. I shook my head. "How is your life this sad?"

The blonde catches something out of the corner of her eyes and drops the sugary treats. She gasps and points, a blush already covering her face. The shine in her eyes getting brighter with each word. "What. Is. That?"

Bow and I look over to see a light beige horse with milk chocolate hair eating some grass before lifting his head to the sky, as if he's showing off how majestic he is. "That would be a horse."

"It's majestic."

Such a pure person.

Bow removes his arm from around my shoulder and places his hands on her sparkly cape-covered shoulders and slowly pushes her towards the animal. "You wanna go meet it?"

"What? No!" She wines as she is pushed closer. I giggled while watching. "Don't force her Bow!"

"It's fine (Yn)! Come on, Adora, it's okay. See, he likes you." He grabs her wrist and almost forces her to touch the horse's nose.

Luckily, the horse accepts the touch which sends the teen into pure awe. "This is the best day of my life."

Bow backs away to me and re-wraps his arm around me. "Bow..."

Glimmer's sudden voice made me jump in my skin, not noticing she appeared beside me while Adora was being pure. Bow patted my shoulder with a chuckle before turning to the princess. "Come on, I know you like her, too. (Yn) and I do for sure. (Yn) likes her so much that—"

I cut him off with my elbow to his exposed stomach. I felt flushed and pouted, crossing my arms across my chest as I muttered curses to the archer. He ruffled my (hc) hair, making it messier than usual as he rubbed the pain away. "See? It's obvious—"

The only male in the group was cut off (again) by rumbling, crashes, and people screaming. We all turn around to see smoke and fire coming from buildings with a sight of people running away in fear. "What's going on?"

"I don't know, but we should totally go check it out!" I yelled and moved forward, adrenaline slowly pumping into my veins. The squad followed me, Adora over taking me as we ran through the village.

We stopped to see buildings cracked and destroyed, civilians running in fright, and a Horde bot shooting lasers at buildings. Fire and smoke filled the air as trees were burnt and broken down. A Horde symbol drawn jagged on a wall. "It's the Horde!"

Nice job stating the obvious, Commander Glimmer.

I was pulled into a building as I was struck with fear, blood and adrenaline stopped frozen cold. I quickly latched onto whoever grabbed me, feeling the familiar cold armor that Bow wore. (Ha! You thought! There's too many gay moments and I wanted this to be a slow burn dammit!)

A grey skiff or a Horde ship rode by. The sound of it rumbled my heart and rung in my ears. My vision was apparent, but it wasn't focusing. It was suddenly hard to breath, either from fear or from all the smoke and dust that was around us.

"Why are they here? The people of Thaymor aren't a threat." Bow explained, wrapping a arm around me. He quickly wrapped the other too as he felt me shaking, rubbing my back to help me calm down.

"Wait, did you say Thaymor? This-this can't be Thaymor." Adora moved forward in confusion and slight realization that something wasn't right about this. She took a worried glance at me, seeing how badly the Horde traumatized me. This made the Commander angry. "Did you know something about this?"

"No! I mean, yes, but there's been a mistake. Thaymor's supposed to be a heavily fortified rebel fortress, not a civilian town." Glimmer grew frustrated and dragged the teen outside while Bow tightened his hold on me and leaned down slightly to rest his chin on my head. (Her head rests on his red heart exactly. Which shows how tall she is next to him.)

"Hey, it's gonna be okay. You are not going to be taken back. You're safe here. You are not in danger. Glimmer and I will protect you. It's fine." Bow tried to help calm me down, but his voice was muffled. The only thing going in my ears were the sounds of people screaming, the sounds of robots firing, trees falling, buildings breaking, my own heartbeat.

After seeing no reaction, he slowly pulled me to the ground and made me sit on the floor. He released me and I immediately curled up, pulling my knees under my chin and wrapping my arms around my calfs. "I need to go help Glimmer to stop the Horde. Can you stay here? Are you okay to be left alone right now?"

I shake my head and looked him in the eyes. His black orbs showed concern with determination, and I could see my (ec) showed fear and panic. "Hey, hey, (Yn), listen. Everything will be okay, as long as you stay in this building okay?"

I slowly nod. He nodded back.

"Good. I'll be back soon to get you."

"Bow! Let's go!" Glimmer yelled from outside. "Coming!"

He gave me one last concerned look.

Before he ran off.

And left me alone.

I need to calm down.

I need to help.

I took slow breaths, just like I did with Adora.

Adora.

She's probably risking her life right now. Trying to fight off the Horde to help protect this village, at least, what's left of it.

Unless... she betrayed us. Betrayed me.

Maybe she's helping the Horde. Maybe she was waiting to be rescued and is heading back with Shadow Weaver and Lord Hordak right now.

No.

She can't.

She's not like that.

Her beliefs changed!

And only after a couple hours with a princess, an archer, and.... this mess of a person.

I need to help. (she said I'm my own hype man!)

My breathing slowed and adrenaline was thawed out.

I'm ready to help.

I stood up and ran out, passing by dead trees chunks and rubble. People ran by me to leave as I darted forward, to help.

Seeing a clearing, I pushed harder only to see a girl shock Adora to the floor with a green stun gun/stick/thing.

I slid to a stop, eyes wide and fright doing a quick lap through my blood circulation. My body fell to it's knees and my hand reached towards the blonde out of its own free will.

"Adora!!"

The Horde girl stopped staring down the blonde and looked over at me with a glare.

She looked familiar.

Her brown hair looked like a lion's messy main with actual cat ears on top. Her thin arms had tanned scratch marks. She had a lean but soft looking tail. Black long claws and some freckles under her eyes—?! What? Her eyes were different colors, and not the iris itself. The whole sclera. One was a watery blue and the other was like a dandelion yellow. It was, very unique and rare, if I must say.

I remember her.

She was that cat girl who was like the bff to Adora. She was the cat girl who was fighting against Adora during the training I watched when I was younger.

She was Kitty, but now ten years older.

I spent too much time checking her out because she's staring me down now, pretend not to recognize her. Let's hope she doesn't recognize me.

"Who are you?"

"Uh... I'm (Yn) (Ln). I'm uh, good friends with Lord Hordak." I looked around, and on the floor, a few feet behind the Horde teen, was a crumbled and decayed flower; the same flower I put into the blonde's hair.

This broke my heart.

I hope Adora wasn't listening to me explain who I am, no was.

But she was groaning and moving around on the floor, so she might as well be hearing it anyway. Now I'm hoping she thinks I'm lying.

"And uh, who are you, uh, Kitty?"

I glanced down at the blonde, seeing her bangs in a big mess as she struggles to get up. She gives a look to run before turning towards Kitty and answering my question. "Catra!"

Out of reflex, Kitty stuns Blondie again. "I'm sorry! It was a reflex."

"Why are you doing this?" Adora asks, her body laying flat back on the ground. They both ignored my existence as they solved their own issues. I just continued to look on as I slowly gained the feelings back in my legs and the sensation of blood very slowly trickle down my knee. Explosions sounded off in the background causing flashes of light here and there, but it didn't catch the attention of the two girls in front of me.

Catra looked appalled by the question, like the answer was obvious. She leaned down slightly and her voice held so much emotion, that I couldn't even pinpoint one of them.

"Because you left me! And if I don't bring you back, Shadow Weaver's gonna have my head. So enough with your weird little identity crisis and lets go home already. Or do I need to zap you again?"

She pointed the green stick to the girl on the ground. I couldn't let her be taken. I stood back up quickly, my blood rushed down and made me dizzy, and yelled, "If she's going, then I'm going too!"

"Wha—? (Yn)? No! You can't!" "Huh?"

I opened my mouth, ready to explain my reasoning when a hand covered it and another pulled me up into the air while a flash of sparkles attacked the cat like teen. I looked up to see Bow grabbing me and Glimmer have came in on the horse Adora was admiring earlier. The princess jumped down to help Adora and Bow pulled me up to her previous spot and quickly shot an arrow to capture the cat in a net.

She rolled around in frustration before aiming her laser stun thing at the two on the floor. Glimmer used the last of her power to teleport her and the blonde as Bow and I raced to them on the horse. The green light shot out and almost hit the animal who dodged. Her mismatched eyes widened as she called out, "Adora!"

She stood and clawed her way out of the net as the male reached back to his quiver to reload his bow. But luck wasn't on his side as he noticed the quiver was empty. He was out of arrows.

His realization came too late as Kitty pounced onto him, scaring the horse and causing me to slide off the animal and onto my butt; the horse neighed and started to leave. I yelled and leaned forward onto my hands. "Bow!"

The two rolled around in the dirt, trying to fight for dominance to be on the higher ground. Bow finally kicked Catra off and rolled away as she shot off green lasers.

Meanwhile, I tried to keep the horse at bay and nearby but the noises scared him off. I sighed and looked back to see Kitty pushing down on the golden bow, basically keeping the boy trapped.

I gained confidence and ran to kick her off. She squealed and was left standing, fire surrounding her in a half circle.

I ran to help the injured archer up, both of us panting softly. He clutched his side in pain as I stared at him in worry. "Bow, I can handle this. Go find the horse."

He nodded and quickly left, not questioning my desire to fight. I glared at the Horde soldier, not fully aware that Horde bots and tanks started to surround Bow, the horse (who apparently stayed), and I.

Kitty smirked.

Well shit.

They stared to close in when a big light came to our rescue. The light was so bright, it caused soldiers to shield their eyes even though they had helmets on. Bow and I glanced at each other, and a smile of relief filled our faces.

And in walked a majestic tall blonde, but this time, wearing a red cape and tiara and proudly carrying the sharp sword.

All soldiers stopped in awe, which allowed the cape lady to keep walking into the center of the clearing and shove her sword into the ground. Yellow electricity erupted from the dirt and made it move at will; dirt that caused tanks, bots, and soldiers to get electrocuted and fall over, now basically useless.

I had moved carefully over to Bow as Blondie pulled the sword from the floor. A tank, somehow still useable, turned and got ready to fire. Bow pulled me behind him out of fear, but princess Adora slid through and cut the front half off the barrel and proceeded to cut the entire tank itself in half. The soldier inside was able to jump out before the machine exploded.

A soldier charged at her with a stun gun stick-thing, but she held her ground.

With one block.

The soldier was knocked back easily while a bot behind us started to move. It raised its leg to attack her straight on, but she grabbed it and threw it aside like it weighed nothing.

"Bow! (Yn)! Are you two okay?" Glimmer ran up behind us. And I jumped again at the sudden voice. Bow turned to her with wide eyes. "Is that Adora?"

The three of us looked to see the back of the tall blonde. Her red cape fluttering behind her as her now long blonde hair defied gravity itself. She was literally glowing.

She looked like a Goddess.

"It's She-ra."

Soldiers retreated and the glow on her flickered before turning off. Her hair and cape dropped as gravity set back in, she looked around. She seemed like she wasn't awake and didn't actually know what was going on, like she was on autopilot for the last 20 minutes. She fell to her hand and knees, one hand still on the sword, as she turned back into a dirty and scrapped up teen.

Adora looked into the smoke to see the same cat like teen, her childhood friend, staring at her with wide eyes. The same eyes narrowed and changed to a hard glare as she backed away and retreated with the rest of the Horde soldiers here.

Her hand finally released the sword as she was ready to fall exhausted, yet Bow and I tackled her to the ground anyway. "Adora, you did it!"

"I did?" She looked between us, her gaze lasting longer on mine as I smiled kindly at her. "You saved us. You saved everyone."

Glimmer took the words right out of my mouth.

Bow backs away to stand back up, but I stay by the blonde's side, my body aching to wrap my arms tightly around her waist in a side hug. She chuckles as steel blue clashes with (ec). She smiles and satisfies the ache in my body with a hug. She pulled my head against her chest and I eagerly wrapped my arms around her waist. Adora looks down at me and gives a breathy, "I did it."

I pull her up with me to a sitting position. My hand somehow stuck in hers without either of us noticing. "I turned against the Horde! I turned against the Horde. Why did I do that? I can't go back now. Where am I supposed to go?"

She took the hand that was in mine and placed both roughly on my cheeks, pulling a flustered me into her face as she questions her situation.

Glimmer comes over to help her panicked self but I pull the blonde into a hug before she can reach us. She clutches onto me, hands crinkling my dirty (light/pale color) sweater. I smile. "Hey, hey. It's okay. You're with us now. Right guys?"

The princess and archer nodded in approval to me. I glared at them with a blush red face.

I pulled out of the hug so I can look her in the eyes. "So, Adora. Let's go home now, yeah? I'm exhausted, and we all have some patching up to do."

I stand, holding out my hand for her to grab. She looks up at me and, with the most softest smile I have seen today, grabs my hand and stands up in front of me, now almost towering over me. She turns to grab the sword and uses me and the sharp object as a crutch.

Glimmer and Bow are left behind us.

They looked at each other, and in sync, "I ship it."

Glimmer walked forward to catch up and help, while Bow said something that gave this group some hope. "Best friend squad!"

He ran up to the three of us to help, when the horse neighed and followed next to him. "Wait whose horse is this?"

"Just a by the way, Glimmer, Bow. You broke the deal."

(Remember the deal reader made before the trio left Bright Moon? The part where they would leave at the first sign of danger? The deal is now obviously broken.)

(Finished episode 2!!! Thank you soo much for waiting!! With this quarantine going on, I have some more time to write, plus my horrible sleeping schedule. I still have school work but it's at home and usually due by Friday. I will continue to work on this story, updating between every one or two weeks. I was hoping to make this story a slow burn, but there will be hella gay moments and I know exactly when confessions will be made and such so I have an idea of where I'm going with this.

Anyway, please stay safe and healthy! Hope you enjoyed this extra long chapter. (I'm currently at 3100 words FYI))
