Grounded?!
Episode 1
Part 1
Reader's pov
Bright Moon was a beautiful land to live in, especially inside the castle. All the walls in the hallways were covered in images from the past, showing battles as the rebellion fights against our enemy, the Horde.
It's funny to me. Having switched from being on the bad side to the good side willingly.
My (Hc) hair swayed behind me, side to side along my back, as I quickly walk behind my commander, Glimmer. Her purple/pink hair and sparkling blue cape bouncing with nervousness, as it was clear in how fast and how far ahead of me she was. You see, we just came back from Elberon, and we were supposed to just give them supplies, stay out of any and all combat situations.
Which backfired.
The Horde attacked us and when instead of retreating, Glimmer fought back. We disobeyed orders. Actually Glimmer did and I tried to convince her to fall back.
Standing outside the golden throne room, Glimmer peered in, trying to gain any spark of confidence. I grabbed her shoulder, once I caught up, and gave her the best comforting smile I could. Which wasn't very good. However, it did make her chuckle, which is a win in my book. "Send them in."
Glimmer straightened up and I ditched the smile, going back to my normal stoic impression. Walking in, seeing all the guards with the crescent moon staffs gave me a small chill down my spine. We walked side by side, getting closer to the queen, who sat on her gold throne; her hand holding up her head on the arm of the seat. Her bubblegum pink hair cascaded down her back, with pale, slightly transparent, pink wings, and a serious face. I was slightly scared but still acted like steel. We stopped, and bowed down to our knees, "Your Majesty."
"I'm told you disobeyed orders, and led the Rebellion into a dangerous combat situation after you were ordered to retreat." Her voice was stern, and annoyed. Especially by Glimmer's actions.
"I was trying to protect a village from falling into the Horde's grasp." Commander Glimmer tried to defend herself.
"You were reckless and put yourself and other rebels in danger."
"Fighting is supposed to be dangerous! How are we going to hold our own against the Horde if we keep retreating? Pretty soon we won't have anything left to defend." Glimmer stood, walking closer to the queen, while I stayed put in my place.
"I'm growing tired of your back talking, Commander Glimmer." The queen also stood, walking down floating stepping stones toward the smaller pinkette.
"Why did you even make me a commander if you won't let me fight?" Glimmer questioned, getting annoyed, irritated, and angry. I stood and spoke, but stayed back as to not really cause more damage, but I did anyway.
"You do deserve to be a commander, Glimmer, but with due all respect your Majesty, I tried to get Glimmer to retreat, but she even disobeyed me! So whatever punishment she gets, I kindly ask to not get one." I talked with a blunt but a slightly persuasive tone. I literally (figuratively) threw her under the bus.
"Wha-! (Yn)! You're supposed to be on my side!" Glimmer yelled at me, her voice going higher than normal.
"Well sorry! You should have listened to me or we wouldn't be getting in trouble right now."
"That's enough! Both of you! Glimmer, you're grounded!" I snickered at Glimmer's punishment.
"And (Yn), no library until you turn in your report!" Me and Glimmer gasped at what the queen had set in stone for us. Glimmer scoffed, "Ugh! Mom!"
"Angella, please! You have to rethink your decision!"
"You heard me girls!"
"You never let me doing anything!" Glimmer yelled as I said, "I didn't even do anything wrong!"
"We're not having this discussion tonight ladies. You are both embarrassing me in front of my royal court!"
"Oh, I'm embarrassing you?" Glimmer yelled, and I just sunk down to the floor. I picked at the floor, trying to grow mushrooms. (OHSHC reference?)
I grew depressed with the fact that I'm no longer allowed in my heaven. The library. Angella's wings spread out, arm straight out pointing to the exit, "Go to your rooms!"
"We're going!" Glimmer slightly flings her cape for dramatic effect and pulled me by my arm, crinkling the fabric, and dragged me out. As she stomped out, I heard her mom sigh.

Getting out of the throne room, Glimmer grumbled out in anger of her mother, while I walked behind her, sad. She stomped to her room, me following her as she normally keeps books hidden in there for me to read if I get punished. She slammed the door open and closed behind me. I walked over to my stash and picked one up to read, sitting down on one of her many bean bags.
"I'm gonna write my feelings down (Yn)!" She yelled even though I'm not that far from her.
Glimmer grabbed her diary from under her pillow and a pen from her drawer. She laid on her stomach on her couch by her window, aka my bed during sleepovers. She swung her feet in the air, her glittery cape falling to the side. As she writes, she talked out loud.
I tuned her out till she screamed. I looked up, to her her sitting up on her knees with a gold and brown arrow sticking out of her wall.
"That's new." I pointed out.
A little compartment opened and a little sign rolled open, showing a little drawing of our male friend saying to "look outside!"
Glimmer groaned and took the arrow out of the wall, and leaned her head out of the window. "Watch it! You almost hit me!" She whisper-yelled into the Whispering Woods, knowing full well who is out there. I looked back down to my book and continued reading, knowing she's is going to teleport him up here.
"Ugh! I'm so mad at my mom."
"Is this about the seize on Elberon?" Said Bow, our male archer friend with an ironic name.
"I was just defending another one of our villages from falling into the Horde's clutches! She stationed me all the way out there because it's too remote to ever get attacked, but then it did, and it was my one chance to prove that I can do this. But she acts like I can't do anything because I'm just a princess."
"You are a princess Glimmer" I chimed into her rant.
The princess groans and teleports to her bed which is hanging from the ceiling, not touching the ground, not even close.
"(Yn)" Bow said with a warning tone, to which I shrugged to; I went back to reading but still listen in on the conversation.
"That doesn't make any sense. Everyone here is a princess. I'm, like, the only one here who's not a princess." I clear my throat. "And (Yn). (Yn) is also not a princess. As far as anyone knows."
Glimmer groans again, "tell that to my mom."
"Hey, where does this go?"
"Bottom drawer" I look up confused, seeing Bow hold up a folded blue cloth? He places it into the drawer of my sleepover bed, "only reason you got out of there is because of your teleportation powers, and let's face it, they don't always work that well." Bow shrugged and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Looking for support here, Bow!"
"I'm just saying, if you want to prove yourself, it's gonna take more than running recklessly into any old battle." Bow hops up flying steps to Glimmer's bed.
"Luckily, I've got just the thing. Check this out. I detected a piece of First Ones Tech in the Whispering Woods. A pretty powerful one, too, by the size of these readings. If you find this one and bring it back, your mom is bound to be impressed."
I jump in, "Bow, did you forget she's grounded?"
Four knocks came on the door, and Angella's voice came through,"Glimmer? Are you in there? (Yn)?"
"Uh..." Glimmer teleported Bow into the Whispering Woods, came back and put her index finger to her lips, telling me to stay quiet. "Everything's fine, mom."
"Is someone else in there? I heard voices."
Glimmer cracked open the door, "it's just me and (Yn). No one else. Can you please just leave us alone?"
"I don't appreciate your tone right now, young lady. Let me see (Yn). Is she reading?" The queen and princess kept arguing, while I stayed in my position, reading.
Finally the door slammed, and Glimmer teleported out to Bow. I read half a page when they both teleported back into the pinkette's room. "Are you coming (Yn)?"
