Chapter 11
[Y/N] sighed in slight nervousness, tightening her grip on Mako as she sat on the back of his motorcycle. She, her boys, the Frog Brothers and the Emerson brothers were on their way back to Grandpa Emerson's house. In order for the plan to work, to kill Max, the boys had to make it seem like they had all died. From what she had seen in her vision, Marko was the first to die, so he had to hide somewhere where Max wouldn't be able to sense his presence. The next to die would be Paul. He was killed by being pushed into a tub of Holy Water. The third to die would be Dwayne. He was shot in the heart by an arrow and electrocuted by a stereo system. The last to die would be David. Like Marko, he had been staked through the heart. However, he and Dwayne would have to be on display to make it seem like they were both dead. Being the boys' mate, [Y/N] would feel every ounce of pain the boys felt. She didn't know if she would be able to handle putting her boys through pain, but she had to. The memories of what had happened to her parents were slowly coming back to her. It was confirmed that Max had killed them and taken [Y/N] as a baby. That thought alone was enough to settle her nerves slightly. She wanted Max dead as much as the boys, the Frog brothers and the Emerson brothers did. Sensing her nervousness, Marko placed his hand over hers, which were around his waist.
"Don't be nervous," he said over the wind and the roar of the motorcycles. "This plan will work. We'll kill Max." He said, trying to reassure her. [Y/N] sighed.
"Let's hope so." She said. They were halfway up to the Emerson House, when Sam shouted over the wind and the roar of the bikes,
"Stop here!" He shouted, making them all come to a pause. David, who had Star on the back of his bike, frowned at the younger Emerson.
"Why are we stopping?" He asked. Sam looked back at the Vampire. They had brought both Star and Laddie with them. In the case that they needed help, Star had said that she would offer her strength as a half-Vampire to fight Max as well.
"There's a chance that my Grandpa might be home, so I have to come up with an excuse to get him out of the house so he won't be caught in the crossfire." He said. Michael nodded.
"Good idea. I hadn't thought about that." He said. He looked back at the others. "Sam, Edgar, Alan and I will continue on. Make sure to keep yourselves hidden. We'll let you know when it's safe to come in." He said. [Y/N] nodded.
"Alright." She said. With that, the half-Vampire and the three humans continued on up the road. [Y/N] got off of Marko's motorcycle. She looked at her boys and the two half-Vampires. "Turn off the engines. We'll hide in the trees until Mr. Emerson leaves." She said. The boys nodded and did as she said.
Sam rushed into the house, finding his Grandpa working on one of his mounted animals.
"Grandpa, the Widow Johnson just called. She said to pick her up at seven instead of eight." Sam said. Grandpa looked at Sam, confused.
"Did we have a date tonight?" He asked. Sam shrugged, trying not to look like he was in a rush and out of breath.
"I guess so. She said not to be late." Sam said. Grandpa put his project down and smiled at his grandson.
"I better get cleaned up, then." Grandpa said. With a grunt, he got out of his chair and rushed over to his room to get ready. The Widow Johnson was an older woman that Grandpa had been trying to woo for sometime. After getting ready, Grandpa started his pickup and took off. The sun had was starting to sink lower and lower. When it was safe for the others to come in, Michael made sure that the front door was unlocked for [Y/N] and the others to come in. Michael pulled back the curtains, making sure that his Grandfather had actually left before rushing out and getting onto his bike, turning it on and racing down the road to where the others were.
[Y/N] looked up when the sound of a motorbike was heard. Michael stopped in front of the spot where the others were hiding. [Y/N] walked out of the trees, standing in front of Michael. Michael sighed and nodded.
"It's time." He said. [Y/N] hardened her face, clenching her jaw. She nodded. There was no turning back now.
[Y/N], Michael, and Dwayne quickly set to locking the doors and windows, boarding some of the windows up. Michael hadn't given his permission to the Vampires to enter, making sure that the Holy Water and stakes would work. Sam, Paul and Marko worked on preparing some garlic in bowls in the kitchen. They had to make it seem like he and the Frog Brothers didn't already know that garlic didn't work on Vampires. The Frog brothers poured some Holy Water into the bath tub. Paul looked at the younger Emerson.
"Hey," he said, making Sam look at him. "I don't think any of us properly thanked you for, you know, not killing us." He said, smiling slightly. Sam chuckled lightly.
"Well, [Y/N]'s powers seem pretty scary, so I don't think I would want to be on her bad side," he said. He looked at the two Vampires. "Besides eating people and drinking their blood, you guys don't really seem that bad." He said. Marko smiled at the boy.
"Right back at ya, kiddo, besides the not eating people and drinking their blood." Marko said, making the three of them laugh. The somewhat cheery atmosphere helped to rid some of their nerves about what was to come. David and Star were working together to set up his death scene. David glanced at her.
"Thank you." He said. Star looked at him in shock. David was never one to express his thanks to anyone other than his brothers and [Y/N].
"What?" She asked, wanting to make sure she heard him right. David sighed and rolled his eyes.
"I said thank you," he said again. "I know we, the boys and I, haven't been the nicest to you. I'm honestly shocked that you offered your help." He said. Star sighed and turned to David, wrapping her arms around herself.
"I'm only doing this for [Y/N], I want you to know that," she said, looking down. She then gathered enough courage to look up at the Vampire. "I want Max dead as much as you all do. I want to be human again." She said. "As does Michael." She said. David sighed and nodded. He looked away from her.
"I approve," He said, looking at her. Star raised an eyebrow in slight confusion.
"Huh?" She asked. David smiled slightly at the half-Vampire.
"I approve of you and Emerson, being together." He said. Star looked down at the ground.
"I was never looking for your approval," she looked up at him and gave him a half smile. "But thanks." She said. Sam, Edgar and Alan filled some water guns up with Holt Water, wanting to be as prepared as they could. Edgar put on some camouflaged makeup, using a photo from the Soldier of Fortune magazine as a guide. The Vampires rolled their eyes slightly at the human boys. They were honestly kind of shocked at how seriously the brothers took their "job" as Vampire Hunters. [Y/N] walked over to one of the windows. She pulled back the curtains and looked out at the darkening sky. She had a commanding view of Santa Carla. The lights from the Boardwalk flashed, the humans of Santa Carla going about their regular night lives, oblivious of what was about to occur at the Emerson house. [Y/N] let out a shaky sigh and looked down at her hand. A little ball of red mist danced between her fingers.
[Y/N] lowered her hand as footsteps approached.
"Michael said that Max and Lucy should be arriving at any time. We need to get started." The familiar voice of Dwayne said. [Y/N] lowered her hand, the ball of mist disappearing. She turned and looked at her lover. Dwayne sighed slightly, seeing the sadness and pain dancing in her eyes. He walked over and pulled her into a hug. [Y/N] sniffed lightly, clinging to the silent protector. She closed her eyes, holding back tears.
"I don't want to put any of you through pain." She whispered. Dwayne sighed and kissed her head.
"I know, sweetheart. But it has to be done. Max has to die. And if we have to go through physical pain to do it, to make sure you're safe, then we will gladly go through any amount of pain to do so." He said. [Y/N] sniffed again. She opened her eyes and looked up at Dwayne.
"But I'm supposed to protect you all! When we first met, when we all fell in love, I promised I would protect you all," she said. She looked down, blinking away tears. "How can I do that when I allow you all to be in pain?" She asked.
"We also promised to protect you," a new voice said. [Y/N] and Dwayne pulled away from the hug, seeing David, Marko and Paul standing behind them. "We all made a promise, to protect each other, Pretty Girl." David said. Marko walked up and pressed his lips to [Y/N]'s.
Pulling away, Marko gently pressed his forehead against [Y/N]'s. He looked her in the eyes.
"David's right, Baby," he said quietly. "We protect you, so you can protect us." He said. Marko pulled away as Paul walked up, pulling her into a hug.
"Besides," he said, looking down at her. "Your powers also heal, right, Darlin'? So We'll all be in safe hands." He said, smiling. [Y/N] sniffed and smiled lightly. [Y/N] had discovered that she could also use her powers to heal when Laddie had accidentally hurt himself. [Y/N] nodded.
"Right." She said. She sighed, pulling away from Paul's hug. She wiped some tears that fell. She gave a determined huff and looked at her boys. "Let's do this." She said. Sam, Michael, Edgar, Alan, Star, Laddie, [Y/N] and the boys were assembled in the living room for final instructions. Sam and the Frogs held loaded water guns. Michael held a very serious-looking hunting bow and arrow quiver. Edgar stared at the group seriously. The time for comfort and jokes was over. It was time to get down to business.
"I think I should warn you all," Edgar said. "At least the humans and halves in the group," he said, looking at Sam, Star, Laddie and Michael. "It's never pretty when a Vampire dies." He said. "No two bloodsuckers ever go out the same way," he said. He looked at the Vampires in the group. "No offence." He said. [Y/N] nodded.
"None taken." She said. Edgar nodded. He addressed the group again.
"Now, some Vampires scream and yell. Some go quietly. Some explode. Some implode. But all," he looked at everyone. "Will try to take you with them." He said. [Y/N] nodded. She walked over next to the boys. She looked at the group.
"Max is no ordinary Vampire," she said. "He's a Sire. He's the one who created the other Vampires. Being a Sire, he has hundreds of years of fighting against Vampire Hunters and other Vampires," she said. "In order for this to work, we have to either have everyone hide, or appear dead. This will make Max start his plan early," she said. She looked at Star, Laddie, Marko and Paul. "You three will have to hide. Once Max is distracted, before he's about to turn Lucy, that's when I will come out and lead the attack." She said. She looked at David and Dwayne. "You two will have to act dead, so Max will see," she said. She looked at the clock. It was 11:30 pm. "It's almost time. We have to act now." She said. She closed her eyes. When she opened them, her eyes flashed red. "Tonight, Max dies." She said.
