"Good morning, class!" the teacher, Mrs. Brown, entered the class and suddenly the talking kids stopped. Finally.

I am so glad she came. I really couldn't resist another conversation between the girls in front of me. Every day I only hear how their crushes don't bother with them and how they are sooo depressed about it. I mentally roll my eyes.
It's not that I don't like my classmates, they are pretty fun sometimes but they are so loud. It's like they can't hear or something and have to scream every little thing.

"Today we won't do much because we are already ahead with the lectures." I smile inside and relax a bit knowing that I can just sleep for the next 40 minutes. I'm not in the mood for learning and this break is very welcomed. "But before I let you do your own thing I just have to introduce you to your new classmate." she said and just then I realized that there is a person at the door.

He was pretty tall, maybe around 6feet, and his hair was a nice chocolatey colour. His style wasn't the best since he only wore a pair of black skinny jeans, and a white t-shirt with something written on it.

"Care to introduce yourself, Aiden?" Mrs. Brown asked the boy.

"Uh, well, I'm Aiden, I'm 17 and I'm not a big fan of school" he said proud. His voice wasn't very deep but it was just the perfect amount.

"Nice to meet you Aiden. Now everyone please introduce yourselves starting from the left" Mrs. Brown said and we all said our names and age. I hate it when I have to introduce myself, it always catches me off guard and it's like I don't even know who I am but luckily I haven't had any problems.

"You can sit there in the back. With Leo" the teacher said gesturing with her hand. Of course he is going to sit here, the only person I was talking to in this class decided to move to a whole new city leaving me alone so now this was the only seat available. Aiden is making his way towards my desk and once he's seated he put his hand up for me to shake.

"Hi" he says and I shake his hand.

"Hello".

I look away and put my head down on the desk closing my eyes. I sit with my head down for about 5 minutes and I really want to sleep but everyone is whispering and it's so annoying. I groan and take my phone from my pocket opening Instagram to kill time. My feed consists mostly in cute animal pictures and videos, many landscapes plus a few room designs or artworks. It's mostly what I look up on here so yeah. I'm not mad about it, it always makes me smile when i see a really cute cat playing with a dog like they are best friends.

"Pst" I hear from my left. I turn to look at his but mostly keeping my eyes on his hair. It looks good, I wonder what shampoo does he use. "I don't know, something my mom bought" he chuckles.

Did I say that out loud? Well, fuck. Stupid.

"I just wanted to ask for a pen, mine isn't working anymore and I'm copying some lessons" he said gesturing to his notebook. Clean handwriting. Mine is always so messy and it's like I'm writing with my foot, as my mum always tells me.

"Yeah, one second." I search in my backpack and I found one "Here" i hand him the pen.

"Thanks, man." He continues to copy his stuff.

I look at the time and there are still 20 minutes left of the class. I decided to try and sleep again but my new desk mate has other plans.

"So, what's up?" I made a confused face. Is he really trying to make conversation with me? Like, I'm not weirded by this but usually people don't talk to me unless they want something.

"Do you need anything else?"

"Uh, not really. Just kinda bored. I thought we could try and get along if we'll sit together from now on" he says and I just-

"Oh. Well, yeah, sure".

I'm not really the type of guy to make friends easily and fast. I'm always open to the idea and i always talk to people but only if they start the conversation. Usually i don't want to be a bother and i just shut up until someone decides to start a conversation.

"So, how's it going?"

"I'm just waiting for this class to end so I can eat something. How's it going with you?" I ask back copying his words. I'm not good at making or keeping up a conversation but I try my best every time.

"Same. Can i sit with you? I don't really have anyone here and to sit alone on the first day it's kinda lame" he said chuckling.

"Of course. I like your shoes by the way" I said trying to enlighten the mood.

"Haha, thanks. I like your eyes. I wish I had green eyes"

I smile. "What colour are your eyes?"

"Well, obviously brown. Pretty boring"

"Brown eyes are nice." I said still not looking at his face.

I just hope he doesn't think I'm weird because I spoke to him but not looked at his face once.

The bell finally rang and everyone got up from their chairs and exited the classroom.

"Coming?"

"Yeah, just a second" I answered while putting my stuff back into my backpack.

This is the first time i'm not gonna eat lunch alone in like, 3 weeks or so. No, I'm not that lonely kid that everyone bullies and that's why he eats alone, I could always go to another table and spend lunch with my classmates but I just don't want to. As weird as it might sound, I like being alone, it's actually pretty relaxing. Any time I sit with someone and have to make conversation for more that 1 hour I just get so exhausted. It's really not my thing.

I suddenly loose sight of Aiden because of all the students bumping into each other and since I can't see him I just decide to go and eat by myself.

"Uh" I scrunch up my nose once I take a look at the food in front of me. I never had good mashed potatoes at school and this is no exception.

"Right? It looks horrible" I hear and someone takes a seat in front of me. Judging by the clothes and hair I'm pretty sure it's Aiden. "I thought you disappeared when I realised I was talking alone in the hallway" he chuckled.

"I didn't see you either so I just came here" I shrugged.

"I can see that. Ugh, I'm not a big fan of this meat. It tastes like nothing" he placed his fork on the table "I was wondering if you could show me around sometime. I could use a little guide in the city. If you don't mind, of course"

I swallow my food and look up at his face. Nothing. "Yeah, sure, no problem" I analyse my food again.

"Cool, great. Give me your phone and here is mine. So we can text and see when you're free" I can hear his excitement through his voice and although I didn't know him it felt nice that someone asked me for help with something like this and not just homework.

I gave him my phone and we both typed in our numbers. I saved his contact, Aiden, and continued to eat. One hour left and I can go home.

A/N: I hope this is a good enough start for the book. Like I said in the description, english is not my native language so I'm sorry for any kind of mistakes I made.
I hope you stay and enjoy the rest of the book! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
