Lola waved good bye and continued down the path, our impromptu picnic disbanded. Eevee bounded along at her heels, but no trainer bothered her, even though she stared at all of them, as if saying do you dare to challenge me. She was intimidating. She pulled out a Pokeball and a Fennekin popped out and ran along with Eevee. Somehow her cute Pokémon made her even more intimidating.

We walked down the route with our heads down, not looking forward to any battles. The news that Lola brought had disheartened Avie and I. She was stuck in deep shit and it looked like we were going to be stuck as well.

After 10 more minutes, we were safely in Pewter city.

"So, what's up with that?" Avie said, talking about Eevee, Lola and the prophecy. We had approached a small lake and I absentmindedly pulled out Pearl's safari ball and released her in to lake. I sat down and patted Pearl on the head, her smooth scales cool to the touch, "Eevee is so weird. Like, she looks normal until you see her fur and eyes. But, I think we should keep our distance from Lola. You know, because of the prophecy, not anything about her."

"Are you guys entering the Pokémon showcase tonight?" Lola plopped down next to us, along with Nadia "I am, and Mum's come to watch." Nadia smiled weakly, as if she was in world of pain. She adjusted her pink gem glasses and tucked a stray curl behind her ear.

Avie spoke cautiously, as acutely aware of Nadia as I was, "Yeah I am. I only have Blossom, so I don't know how we'll do, but I'm going to give it a try." Nadia cleared her throat, "I have a gift for both of you girls for looking after my Lola." She spoke extremely slowly; each word was a huge effort. It was like she was cutting into herself with each word. She pulled a small carry case out of her bag and opened the door. Out tumbled two Pokeball sized balls of fluff, baby Eevees.

"Free of charge. They are both boys. Don't bother trying to give them back or paying. Don't make me waste my words today." She picked one up and placed it in my lap. The other one snuggled up to Avie. Lola jumped up and helped Nadia up, "Let's go to the Pokecenter, Mum." She mouthed 'I'll explain later' behind her mother's back.

The small Eevee snuggled into my pink wool jumper. It was unseasonably cold today, I had abandoned my dresses and brought out my tights and long skirts. I had bubble-gum pink sneakers that went up to my knees, black tights and a denim skirt to try to combat the cold weather, but I was still shivering.

"Pearl, what should we call this baby?" Pearl looked at me with a quizzical expression

"Air?" she said, as if to say I don't know. Avie smiled, "I know what I'm going to call mine. His name is Hugo!" The tiny Eevee snuggled closer to her and Avie picked Hugo up and put him in the pocket on her ocean blue jumper.

"Great name!" I said to Avie. I was still trying to think of one for mine. If it was a girl, I would've named it Ellie, so I decided on Eli.

"I think Eli." I said, smiling. He was such a cute little thing. "Great name Skye!" Avie said, "But now I'm going to go and practice for the showcase. You wait for Lola to come back!" And with that, Avie was off on the other side of lake feeding Hugo TMs to get his desired move set. I don't even know where she got them from.

"I guess it's just us then." Lola said, patting Pearl. "I didn't know you had a Dragonair. But everyone's full of surprises, especially me."

"Don't you have to get ready for the showcase?" I asked, slightly annoyed. Lola had this way of making everything she did a mystery, and I was sick of it.

"Nah, I prepared my stuff yesterday. Sophie, my Fennekin, and Eevee are ready! On the other hand, do you want to know what's up with my mum?"

"I sure do" I said, "She was a whole different person from the one I met in Pallet town." Lola frowned, "Okay, let me explain."

I'm sorry about not uploading for ages. It's nearly the end of the first week of school holidays and I haven't uploaded. There is a reason, though. we went on holiday to a place with no wifi so I couldn't upload. But now I'm going to upload more often, because assessments are over, thank god! Have a happy Easter!
