I was commandeered up the gray stone path, passing Ditto changing from Rockruff to Lillipup and back again. I rang the doorbell and it sung "Ring, ring, ring! Ring, ring, ring! Doorbell, doorbell! Ring, ring, ring! Ring, ring, ring! Doorbell, doorbell!' and was greeted by Avie, wearing a lovely t-shirt that said 'girls have a Cloyster, boys have an Onix'. Avie has many lovely t-shirts that have rude and offensive sayings and gestures on them. If you don't know what that one means, just look at pictures of Cloyster and Onix until you get it.

Around Avie's feet (incased in her charcoal grey booties, as always) ran a little, over excited Eevee, barely 4 months old. Her parents, a Sylveon and a Vaporeon, walked slowly up the hallway, investigating where their baby had gone.

"What in the name of Arceus happened to Skye?" Avie asked, tucking her caramel brown hair behind her ear, "Shit, you'll get hypothermia!" Avie said, suddenly spurred into action, "Maya, Petrah, can't talk now, I'll do the pleasantries later!" And with that she grabbed my hand and pulled me up the pine stairs and into her room. I immediately leant down and petted Ninetales and Vulpix, who were laying on their customary cushion by Avie's door. Ninetales warmed me up and Vulpix cooled me down.

"Skye! Think fast!" Avie yelled from deep in her closet as she launched a t-shirt, ripped up jeans, a charcoal grey hoodie, charcoal grey booties and a grey slouch beanie. It was almost the same outfit as Avie had on now, except the t-shirt said 'Don't expect me to cry you a river. Just get Kyogre to do it.'

Avie emerged, with a hair brush, and started helping me get the wet clothes off my shivering body. When I was changed, Avie started brushing my hair.

"So, what happened Skye?" Avie asked. I took a deep breath and started to explain, "I was in safari zone cloud watching when my Mum called me from the entrance. I was walking over when I tripped over my own feet and tumbled into the pool." At this point Avie chuckled, "Skye, always so clumsy! Is it okay if I braid your hair?" I sighed, "Sure, but if you love doing hair why did you cut yours off?" Avie's hair was cut to her jaw line.

"Well, I love your beautiful pale blond hair way more than mine. Plus, I never did mine, just did yours, so I don't miss it much. Tell me what happened after you fell into the pool."

"I was trying to fight my way up to the surface when a Dratini or Dragonair wrapped around me and pushed me up to the surface and accidently touched the button of this safari ball," I paused, lifting the safari ball "Then we came here after Auntie Petrah pulled me out."

"Come on Skye, we're going to the pond and seeing this new Pokémon is. Come on Skye, now you've made me jealous." I hated Avie's offhand way off saying 'you've made me jealous'. I've been jealous of her my whole life. She has a Mum and Dad that are always there from her, lots of Pokémon and a Mum that actually cares about her, instead of trying to please a man that isn't even there.

I grabbed Avie's hand and guide her past Serena, Ash, Auntie Petrah and Mum and into the garden. Venusaur lay in the bamboo grove with Pancham, Delphox in her area of the garden and Primarina was at the bottom of the pond. Avie gently pried my fingers from the safari ball and threw it into the water.

In a burst of red light, a Dragonair took form and joined Primarina in pond. "It's beautiful," Avie breathed, "What are you going to call it?" I had no I idea what I was going to name her. I loved the beads on her tail and the single one below her head. They reminded me of pearls, beautiful deep blue ones.

"Pearl, I will name her Pearl." I said, and Avie nodded her head in agreement. I took a step forward to the edge of the pond, but tripped over a small rock and started making windmills with my arms, almost comically. It was to no avail though. I fell into the pool nonetheless, though when I was in midair Primarina sent a fairy wind at me and blew off my clothes. The leftovers of the fairy wind turned into a sparkling pink swimsuit. Pearl wrapped around me and swam me over to Primarina and I petted Primarina on the head as a thank you.

"Good job Prima!" I said, "You saved Avie's clothes with your quick thinking! It must be the Pokémon performing!" Primarina nuzzled me in appreciation as Pearl slowly unwound from my body.  Avie ran up to her room and came back 5 minutes later with a bikini on and jumped in. Eventually Pearl left me, only coming when I needed assistance. Pretty soon I was swimming around like a Gyarados. It was then I realised that Pearl had taught me to swim.
