It had been a rough few days. Dev was exhausted, having a fully booked Bed and Breakfast and the guests to care for. She was glad of course, the business was finally successful. But it meant she was just tired most of the days, wanting to go to bed as soon as dinner was over.

Having Tom there didn’t change anything about her tiredness, but at least she had someone to share the bed with. Dev felt a bit bad, after all he would be gone soon, brining Betrayal to Broadway. It was so nice to spend these days with him, she just wasn’t sure how happy Tom was to share her with the Inn.

The bathroom door opened and out stepped Tom, freshly showered and ready to sleep in a white t-shirt and boxers. Dev was way ahead of him, already covered in her warm, fluffy blanket, facing Tom’s side of the bed, waiting for him.

“Are you alright?” he asked, slipping in next to her.

“Hm-hm,” she mumbled. “Better now.”

Tom lifted the blanket, inviting her in. They snuggled in close together, Tom’s arms wrapping around Dev, her face pressed against his chest.

“Still tired?” he asked.

“So very much.” It came out with a sigh and then a chuckle as she felt Tom’s lips and nose in her hair. “I’m so sorry I’ve been so useless these last few days.”

“Pf. You’re not useless. Don’t say it like that.” He let go a bit, and Dev looked up at him. “Really now. Come closer.”

With a laugh at his wiggling brows she did as he said, their faces just inches apart, his breath on her cheeks and lips almost touching.

“I love spending time with you, no matter how and when,” Tom mumbled. “And if you’re tired, we’ll just sleep.”

“I promise tomorrow I won’t be.”

They chuckled, faces closer and closer together. They didn’t kiss, but their noses touched. They were so close that Dev could see all the little changes of colour in his irises. They closed their eyes, lashes touching.

Dev giggled. “It tickles.” And then it tickled some more as Tom’s lashes fluttered. She sighed. “I love you so close.”

“You’ll have me so close whenever you want to.”

“Hm-hm.”

“Sleep.”

And she did.
