Romeo and Juliet (LoZ AU)
Can you tell I've been playing too much Breath of the Wild/Age of Calamity lately?

"AAAND ACTION!"
Mipha blushed, messing with her wig before sweetly reciting. "O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?
"Deny thy father and refuse thy name.
"Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love
"And I'll no longer be a Capulet..."
Revali sighed as the Zora continued the lovesick speech. He knew who she was thinking of as she said it, and it made him even more nauseous just to even waste brain cells on that hero. Meanwhile, Urbosa was making those little disappointed throat noises at him for refusing to say his lines.
Revali sneered; he hadn't even wanted to play the main male lead in this stupid play, but of course everyone recognized his talent and wanted him to act.
"Psst, Revali." Urbosa pointed to her sheet. "Lines!"
Revali shook his head. He was so not going to respond to the infatuated Zora. As much as it pained Revali to admit it, Zelda should have shoved Link into playing Romeo. At least then the group might have some closure on the whole Mipha ordeal.
Link didn't like to talk, however, because he was a pointless asset to the Champions and was too scared to admit it.
"REVALI. YOU SAY YOUR LINES OR I WILL FRY YOU WITH LIGHTNIN—"
"Fine, fine, no need to ruffle your feathers." The Rito waved his arm, rolling his eyes before reciting, "Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?"
"Retain that dear perfection which he owes," Mipha continued from above him, oblivious to the events. Her eyes shined with the passion of her words, and Revali had to strangle his beak to keep from heaving in disgust. "Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name,
"And for that name, which is no part of thee,
"Take all myself."
Daruk clapped when Mipha finished. "That was amazing!"
Both Zelda and Link politely applauded from beside him, while Urbosa shot Revali a pointed glare that seemed to say, "You better not hesitate during the actual play."
Revali ignored her.
"And you did good too, Revali." Daruk came out of nowhere and nearly knocked the Rito over with his slap on the back.
Daruk had always been supportive of everyone, as he was basically the grandad of the group. Still, the little praise did give a small bit of support to that aching hole inside, so Revali allowed himself to be in a better mood for the rest of practice.

A/N
I was playing through BotW my second time; the first Divine Beast I completed was Vah Medoh (Revali's Divine Beast). When I beat Windblight Ganon and Revali's cutscene started, I choked up. The music was bittersweet, and hearing Revali finally admit Link could accomplish what he couldn't was such a big moment for his character. I'm not even sure if I should go after Vah Ruta in this run. If I got choked up at Revali's cutscene, you best bet I'll be full on sobbing when Mipha's cutscene plays.
It's amazing how a video game can do that to a person. :D
If you don't want to get choked up in BotW nostalgia, I suggest going to read therearenooptions's entry! It's sure to be a lot of fun!
See you all next week!
