at eighteen

twinkle twinkle little star,
how do you keep your sleep at night?
there's so much left unattended . . .
but at the end of the tunnel,
you're the only one barely hanging.

Wearing this lavish gown shaped like a daisy;
Red velvety lips, powdered foundation—
I dazed the stairs, smiled like a photogenic queen.
This is it, this is the moment — the chapter of eighteen.

The concept of aging is like a human's face;
At some point, we celebrate it everyday
but faded to seemingly an ordinary day.
And it's quite a pity party, how things rolled like a predicted prophecy.

"I'm not gonna let that happen!
I'm the beholder of my destiny, eighteen will be my year.
. . . I did seize it but it was so perfect that it became boring."

The remnants of this audacious party,
calmed beneath on how life's biggest conquest sorcery—
at eighteen fleet like bolts' speed—
and I wonder, how life wreck my heart to pieces like an open wound?

i'm looking outside,
the stars are shining bright;
and I smiled with a tear
fall down. . .left on my eye—
sleeping like a kid that I was once.
