Coffee chat (Prompt)

'Emotions'.Andrew thought as he walked into the back of the employee room putting on his orange apron, and matching hat as he stared at himself in the mirror.

It was something he often did, not because he was vain, but because he didn't understand. He didn't understand how people were able to smile, cry, get angry. Looking at himself in the mirror only reminded him of the empty shell he had become, a stoic face, dull brown eyes, raven black hair that covered one eye as his white porcelain skin hid away from any light. He looked like a dead zombie. But he was human, he knew he had to be, it was just something missing that made him feel human.

With this he sighed making his way back out to the front where it was busy. Extremely. People bustled around talking, eating, drinking. For a second he stood there standing in awe at how many things went on. But this trance was disrupted by his manager, Jesse. "Go. Go out there and start working!" she exclaimed giving him a small shove into the middle of the chaos tornado that were customers.

Left and right were people asking for refills, orders, maybe even cake. But...Andrew didn't understand why. Why would people waste their money on foolish things like this? "Could I get a latte with extra whipcream?" someone called from group of friends who sat at a booth waiting in anticipation. Out of all the chaotic voices this was the one Andrew heard. Slowly, quietly he walked over to the group, but only to end up staring at the four. He studied all of them, their faces, their bodies and outfits. The coffee boy didn't mean to be a creep, he didn't know he made the people uncomfortable as some shifted in their seats.

Finally after what seemed forever Andrew spoke breaking the thick layer of silence in the booth corner. " Is that really what you want?" he asked as the customer looked at him in confusion, anger soon rising "Look, just get me my drink and stop being such a pervert!" he spoke as Andrew simply only blinked and walked away. He didn't care for the strong emotions and wanted to see just how much he could tick the bigger male off.

Soon he made his way over to a quiet corner and sat down, he wanted to continue watching people, afterall it was strange but interesting to see what happened. Seemingly for the finally time that day that Andrew was snapped out of his daze a stranger sat down infront of him.

"Why so glum?" a boy chuckled smiling brightly at Andrew. He was...surprised? How could he feel that, turning to the stranger he spoke "I'm not glum, I can't be even if I tried" he replied as the stranger spoke once more "Well..." he trailed off looking to the nametag on the brightly colored apron. "Andrew. It's nice to meet you! I don't mean to be a bother, but do you mind if I sit here?" he asked as Andrew couldn't help but crack a very small smile

"No...I don't" he replied quietly looking down as the other male grinned "I'm Quinn. You're future is one to look forward to, just wait and see" Quinn spoke as Andrew looked to him tilting his head slightly in curiosity. A new experience? He couldn't help but be happy he went to work that day.
