This book is definitely interesting. It is a rewrite of the game, Omega Ruby and follows Brendan's POV, yet the details added in by the author make this very satisfying to read. It also goes with Alpha Sapphire(a rewrite of the game as well), which follows May's POV. You don't have to read both to understand the story, but reading both does fill in a lot more interesting little details that the games don't ever delve into.

The chapters are long but not too long to the point where reading becomes a chore. Unique descriptions not really seen anywhere else are used, an example being: “It was like someone had taken a pencil and shaded them in, layer after layer, making sure every change in value was noticeable.”

Rather than going with the cliche “orbs and jewels” in this case when describing eyes, the author makes it more interesting by being more creative. I rarely see that kind of description that is both unique and still paints a picture for me. The author manages to do this well.

I found really no issue with the book except for two things: One, the addition of the author's own twists to future chapters. Something a little more major to change up the story (aside from the crush Brendan has on May). That wouldn't mean the author can't keep writing it as it is, it only means that they should add some twists which would make this a much more amazing read.

The second being the infrequent and slow updates. Of course, it is the author's choice of when to update, but  the updates are very slow and could affect the success of the book.

Omega Ruby:
The sun was blurry with heat, blazing brightly in the sky. Brendan wiped his brow, forcing his tired and sore legs to move forward. His clothing stuck to his skin, sweat dripping down his forehead.
If this heat continued to strike down on hoenn, the region would be shrouded in a horrible drought.

The brunette hated himself for not acknowledging the strength that Team Magma acquired. He didn't take their goals seriously, and now he was paying the consequences of failing to do so.

This heat could have been prevented if he would have seen the threat that the organization had on the region. This drought, the cause of the legendary pokemon fighting, is all Brendan's fault.

Alpha Sapphire:
She watched as the rain poured down, hammering her and the Pokémon standing by her side with ice cold water. Just yesterday, Hoenn was bursting with life and excitement, but now…

All of that was gone.

She underestimated Team Aqua completely, thinking that they were a bunch of idiots who had no idea what they were doing.
She was wrong, and now she has learnt her lesson, as the rain continued to pour on top of her, soaking her in her clothing.

All of this, everything that had happened, was all because of her. She wasn't strong enough to stop it, and she definitely wasn't ready to watch the region flood.
