Chapter 28: The Battle of Helm's Deep
I dedicate this chapter to Kaybug2456! She is an Amazing writer you should check out her books: Nothing but a dream. A dream come true. (aragorn love story) and My life with One Direction.
Estelwen (Alastegiel) POV
We get our weapons ready, I get my bow out first. The Uruk-hai start to shout and bang their spears on the ground. This goes on until someone accidentally lets go of an arrow. The Orc lets out a grunt.
“Dartho! (Hold!)" Aragorn yells.
The Uruk falls to the ground, dead. All the rest of the Uruk-hai get angry and charge us.
“Tangado a chadad! (Prepare to fire!)" Aragorn orders.
“Faeg i-varv dîn na lanc a nu ranc. (Their armor is weak at the neck and beneath the arm.)" Legolas informs us.
“Hado i philinn! (Release Arrows!)" Aragorn shouts.
Anyone who has a bow releases an arrow. “Did they hit anything?" I hear Gimli ask, but I do not answer. “Send them to me, come on!"
I keep releasing arrow after arrow. The Uruks start releasing arrows of their own. “Pendraith! (Ladders!)" Aragorn warns. I look down to see them hoisting up ladders.
“Good!" I hear Gimli say.
“Swords! Swords!" Aragorn orders. I put my bow away and pull out my long daggers.
I fight Uruk after Uruk and eventually loose Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas.
Legolas POV
I keep shooting the Uruk-hai with my arrows. I am a lot better off if I keep using these rather than a sword.
“Togo hon dad, Legolas! (Bring him down, Legolas!)" I hear Aragorn shout to me. I look to see an Uruk-hai holding some sort of sparking torch, running towards the wall. I shoot an arrow at him but he keeps running.
“Dago hon! Dago hon! (Kill him! Kill him!)" Aragorn urges. I shoot another arrow, but he keeps running then throws himself. There is a big explosion as the wall blows up.
“Herio! (Charge!)" I hear Aragorn yell. I get a shield and slide down the stairs on it while shooting arrows. When I get to the bottom, I flick the shield up and it hits an Uruk. I stick an arrow into anothers neck. Then keep on fighting and shooting arrows.
Estelwen (Alastegiel) POV
“Nan barad! (To the keep!)" Aragorn shouts.
I start to fight my way back to the keep when I see Haldir. He has been stabbed. And an Uruk is bout to bring an axe down onto the back of his head.
“Haldir!" I yell to him as I run over to save my friend.
I kill the Uruk before he can hurt Haldir. “Haldir, mellon nin. (my friend) Stay with me." I say to him, he nods his head.
I see an elf and say to him, “Here, please take Haldir to the caves. He has been stabbed, try to heal him if you can."
“Yes, my Lady." The elf says and takes Haldir to the caves.
I feel a tear stream down my cheek. “Please be safe, Haldir." I whisper to myself.
“Alastegiel! Come, to the keep." Aragorn tells me, and I follow him.
“I am going to check on Haldir. I'll be back." I say to Aragorn.
“Ok."
I run to the caves. It takes me a minute but I find where the elf took Haldir. “How's he doing?" I ask the elf.
“He will live." He says. I instantly feel a heavy weight being lifted off my shoulders.
“Thank you so much! What is your name?"
“Landion." He says.
“It is nice to meet you, Landion. My name is Alastegiel." I say to him.
I then hear a lot of yelling.“I should get back. Thank you again." I say before running off.
I get to the room where I heard the yelling coming from. All my friends are there. “So much death. What can men do against such reckless hate?" King Thèoden questions.
“Ride out with me. Ride out and meet them." Aragorn answers.
“For death and glory!" King Thèoden says.
“For Rohan! For your people." Aragorn adds.
“The sun is rising." Gimli says. We all turn to look at it.
“Yes. Yes. The horn of Helm Hammerhead shall sound in the Deep one last time." King Thèoden declares.
“Yes!" Gimli shouts and runs to go blow the horn.
“Let this be the hour when we draw swords together. Fell deeds awake. Now for wrath, now for ruin and a red dawn." King Thèoden shouts.
I then hear the horn being blown by Gimli as we all get on our horses. “How's Haldir?" Aragorn asks me.
“He is going to live." I answer. I hear Aragorn sigh in relief.
“Fourth Eorlingas!" King Thèoden yells and we all charge. We ride out. I am fighting with all of the strength I have left in me.
I hear a horse and turn to see Gandalf on top of a hill. Then I see Éomer. And then the rest of the Riders of Rohan! I am so happy to see Gandalf again.
“To the King!" I hear Éomer yell. They all charge down the hill and the sun comes up, shining in the eyes of the Uruk-hai. They attack. And I start to fight again.
The few remaining Uruks start to run away. “Victory! We have victory!" King Thèoden praises.
The Uruk-hai run into the forest.“Stay out of the forest. Keep away from the trees." Éomer informs us.
I see the trees start to move and then kill the Uruks.
~~~
The battle is finally over. I am with Gimli who is sitting on top of an Uruk that has his axe in him. Legolas walks over, “Final count, forty-two." He says.
“Forty-two? Oh. That's not bad for a pointy-eared Elvish princeling. I myself am sitting pretty on forty-three." He says all proud of himself.
Legolas pulls out an arrow and shoots the Uruk that Gimli is sitting on. “Forty-three." Legolas says.
“He was already dead." Gimli says, shocked.
“He was twitching." Legolas says.
“He was twitching because he's got my axe embedded in his nervous system!" Gimli shouts.
I shake my head and say, “You guys are so silly with your game."
“Well how many did you kill?" Gimli asks me.
“Yeah, how many?" Legolas looks over at me curiously.
“Sixty-five." I say, then walking away. Leaving them there with their shocked faces.
I decide to go find Gandalf. I get on my horse and eventually find him. “Gandalf." I call to him.
He turns to me and smiles, “Alastegiel! It is so good to see you again."
“It is good to see you to Gandalf." I say to him.
We all get together to talk. “Sauron's wrath will be terrible, his retribution swift. The battle for Helm's Deep is over. The battle for Middle Earth is about to begin. All our hopes now lie with two little Hobbits somewhere in the wilderness.
I hear two horses come up behind us, I turn around to see who it is. It is Landion and Haldir. “Hello Landion, do you need something?" I ask him, waking up to them.
“I am taking Haldir back to Lothlórien he wanted to talk to you before we left." He says.
I walk up to Haldir. “Please stay alive! Promise me you will stay alive!" He begs me.
“I promise" I say. Then I think to myself: Why do I make so many Promises?
