After much needed sleep, my eyes fluttered open. I pulled the blinds from the window and stared outside. The sky was completely clear, my room instantly filled with sunlight. I could hear birds chirping, children laughing, and all the busy life on the streets.

I pushed the blankets off me, and swung my legs over the side of the bed. I was expecting to find shards of glass on the floor, but it was completely clear. Natsu must have cleaned it up. It was hard to believe that the messy Natsu Dragneel actually cleaned something. 

I could feel my face heat up as I smiled. Natsu was the best friend that I could ever have. I felt a weird feeling in my stomach when I thought of him. Whenever I thought about him, I felt nervous, but excited. 

I decided to brush off the strange feeling, and jumped out of bed. All of a sudden my door swung open. 

"LUCY!" Happy said as he flew towards me. He flew right into my arms and nuzzled his head in my chest. Natsu followed in close behind him. I smiled at Natsu's presence.

"What's wrong Happy?" I asked as I petted his head. 

"Natsu said you were really sick last night," His big, cute eyes stared right into mine. I shot Natsu a questioning look, but he just brought his finger to his lips. 

I understood exactly what he meant, he didn't want anyone to find out about last night. I could've done something incredibly stupid, and Happy didn't need to know about it. 

"I'm feeling a lot better thanks to Natsu. Sorry I had to steal him last night." Happy's eyes lit up with excitement. 

"It's okay Lucy, I'm just happy that you're feeling better." I hugged him even tighter. "Does this mean we can go on another job?" He asked looking at Natsu. 

"If Lucy's up to it," he said smiling at me. I blushed and looked down at the floor. 

"Aye! Lets go!" Happy said as he flew towards the door. 

"Let me just change really quick." I said as I grabbed my usual outfit from my drawer. 

"I'll meet you at the guild Happy, I'm going to wait for Lucy." Natsu said as he sat down on my bed.

"You like herrrrrrr," he whined with excitement. At that comment I instantly blushed. Before Natsu or I could say anything, he flew out of my apartment. "See you guys soon!" Happy's voice echoed down the stairs and out the main entrance. 

I looked at Natsu and noticed a hint of pink on his cheeks. Was Natsu Dragneel actually blushing?

"You don't have to wait for me." I said deriving myself away from my current thought. 

"I want to," Natsu said as he leaned back on my bed. I smiled and headed towards my bathroom. I got ready in my usual outfit. I put my hair into my usual pigtails. I came out and dumped my dirty clothes in the laundry basket. 

He noticed that I was ready and stood up from my bed. 

"Ready to go?" He asked as he started walking towards the door. I nodded and followed closely behind him. I stopped in my tracks. 

"Natsu?" I said as I grabbed the back of his shirt. He turned around and looked into my eyes.

"What is it Luce?" He asked with a hint of worry in his eyes. 

"I just wanted to say thank you for last night, for everything." I said as I pressed myself against him. I wrapped my arms around him. He stumbled back at first, as if he was shocked, but then wrapped his arms around me. "You saved me," I mumbled quietly. 

I broke away and looked at him. He was blushing, and so was I. His arms were still around my lower back. Our eyes met, and the strange feeling reappeared in my stomach.

"Lucy, I-" Natsu was suddenly interrupted by an annoyed Happy. 

"Hurry up you guys!" Happy said outside of my window. Natsu unhooked his arms and blushed like a mad man. 

"Coming!" I said trying to ease the awkward situation that just arose. I walked past Natsu and out the door.

When we reached the guild, it was lively as ever. Gajeel and Gray were yelling at each other, Erza was attacking Elfman for accidentally stepping on her cake, and Levy's face was in a book. 

"Lucy! We missed you yesterday," Wendy said as she approached me. 

"I wasn't feeling very well," I said as I rubbed my stomach. 

"Oh, I'm so sorry Lucy!" She looked at the floor in sadness. 

"Are you up to coming on a job?" I asked her nicely. Wendy was like the little sister I never had.

Her facial expression instantly changed. She jumped up in the air with excitement. "Yes, I would love to! Let me go get Charle." She skipped away happily. 

"A job you say?" Erza said as she saw Wendy skip away from me.

"Yea! Natsu's looking for one right now," I motioned over towards the job board. Natsu and Happy were scanning the hundreds of flyers tacked to the board. 

"I must join you," Erza said with a look of determination in her eyes. I giggled and brought my hand up to my mouth. "Lucy, why are you bleeding?" Erza said as she grabbed my arm. My wound from the glass must have opened. A very little stream of blood fell from my palm.

"Oh, I just tripped on the way here." Her dark eyes were staring into mine. I tried to make my face as normal as possible. She was a very skeptical person when it came to things like this. 

"Let me bandage that up for you!" Mira said as she walked towards me. I placed my bloody hand in front of her as she carefully wrapped the cotton material around my wound. 

"Thank you Mira, it feels better already." She smiled and headed back behind the bar. Mira always knew when something was wrong. 

"I will go inform Gray and Juvia about this job,"  I nodded and saw her walk towards the odd couple. They were water and ice, it was pretty obvious that they were meant for each other. Juvia's already head over heels for Gray, and I'm sure Gray will find himself in that situation too.

 I walked towards Levy, because she should come to!

"Levy, want to come on a job with the team and I?" I asked as she looked up from her book. She smiled and took off her glasses. 

"Sure Lu! Who else is going?" I told her the list and she looked at the floor in disappointment. 

"You can ask Gajeel to come if you want to." It was as if I had read her mind. She instantly started blushing. I laughed at her embarrassment. "Natsu's picking the job, so we'll let you know the details soon." I said through a smile. 

I was excited to work, I was excited to be with my friends.
