Prologue
I have been living in a world filled with hate and ignorance. Not really the best to start this off, but it was like that.
My name is Arthur. I'm an average, raven-haired boy with a jacket like snow. I felt depressed, my blue eyes framed by my glasses void of any emotion.
Before then, I have been bullied...a lot. Boys would end up picking on me, punching me, and shoving me while no one cared. It was chaos for me. And no one would even help me at all, and all they only did is watching me suffer.
I was walking home from school. I remembered the days that made me a terrible person, yet succeeded. I was the only one who was smart compared the rest of the other students. I have aced every test, assignments, and projects. I tend to ignore the burden on my shoulders that brought me down, but I still have problems. The girls never liked me at all. They just discussing things, and I ended up them telling me to go away or something like that. It was a cycle of pain and suffering I went through. They just hate me for being smart or they hate boys in general. My classmates were like nothing to me, just eyesores. It kept repeating for me, for like two years. And it just never ends, I must be the only student being hated. But, I feel like I'm starting over since I was done with school.
Once I got home, I opened my house door, placed my bag on the floor, changed into comfy clothes, pulled out a phone, and started to play a game that I stumbled upon, that wiped all of my burdens away. It was Azur Lane, I just installed it on my phone. When starting to play, I was warped in the world of Azur Lane. I then met shipgirls as the new commander after the paperwork I have to do.
I started to choose Laffey as his starter ship first, met new ones like Long Island, Enterprise, Yuudachi, or Tirpitz just to name a few. I sent them to do commissions, missions and comforted them in return. All the troubles that I had slowly faded away and luck came back in return. I never expect this stress-free from all the burden I deal with.
Later on, in order to kill some time, I decided to clean the dorm since who knows what that was like before I had back then.
Arthur: Let's see... too much old stuff I need to handle. Oh, dear...
I proceed to fix the windows and managing the place I prefer. Then Long Island and Laffey happen to pass by me. Long Island had eyes like an ocean, long brown hair, and was wearing some kind of jacket uniform. Laffey was the sleepy one with white twin tails both sides. She ended up sleeping on the floor.
Long Island: Cleaning up the dorm?
Arthur: Yes, it's a mess...
Long Island: You have been working so hard. We can take care of the rest.
Arthur: What about Laffey?
Long Island: Don't worry about her.
I thanked Long Island and headed back to the office. However, it was just the beginning when playing that game for about two weeks. I would usually lose count how many ships I received recently and it's hard to keep track.
I didn't have anyone that he can trust for my secretary, but then I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and it was a female with a black ponytail and a snowy uniform with gold. She also had a white bow tie that tied up her hair.
Arthur: Oh, uh... hi... I'm Arthur.
???: Are you the commander?
I nodded.
Takao: I'm Takao, the first ship of the Takao-class heavy cruisers. It's a pleasure to meet you.
Arthur: It's also a pleasure to meet you too, Takao. I uh... feel like this is awkward to start a conversation. I'm terribly sorry if I'm like this.
Takao: Don't worry about it, commander. I'll be your secretary for now on.
Arthur: Alright then, you just call me Arthur, I'm not used to calling as a commander...
Takao: I understand, Arthur.
I started to know Takao more after meeting each other. Even I don't think girls from my school or anywhere like me, Takao seemed trustworthy to me, and I know I can trust her and she can trust me. We would usually hang out in my office or go outside. Every time Long Island or Enterprise or even Cleveland would question me about the relationship with Takao, I would tell them that we're just being close friends and then they leave us alone.
Later on one day, I ended up getting something that I never saw and was very unusual despite I just got it from the HQ.
It was a case with a wedding ring in it. Even I have been with Takao for a while, I wouldn't get this out of the blue. I thought it was a mistake or some kind of error. I showed it to Takao for clarification. Takao was drinking some tea and was sitting in her room, so I knocked on her door.
Arthur: Pardon the interruption, can I show you something?
Takao placed her teacup on the side of her desk and turned to me.
Takao: What is it, Arthur?
I nervously pulled out the case with the wedding ring. She seemed concerned about it.
Arthur: It's this. I got this out of the blue.
Takao: Did you happen to get it today?
I nodded my head nervously.
Takao: This is maybe weird, but can you put it away and hide it?
Arthur: Uh, sure. Is it bothering you?
Takao: No, but I'm sort of worried if you happened to carry it around and someone wants to marry you even you barely met them. I'm not ready to be married by the way.
Arthur: Me neither. I'm scared of what will happen in the future.
Takao: Just do what you need to do and watch your surroundings. I have some work to do.
Arthur: Alright, later.
I closed Takao's door and headed back to the office. I looked at the case with the wedding ring in my hand. I fear that my world's gone upside down once I received the wedding ring, and it was very worse than my years of being bullied...
