Y/N-
With exams finally behind me, I felt a mixture of relief and uncertainty. University had been my world for so long, and with it over, I felt a strange emptiness. My friends and I had spent our last days on campus together, savoring each moment, but I knew the time had come to take the next step.
Now, my thoughts were focused on my future—and where I should apply for an internship. I knew how important this next phase was. Not only would it shape my career, but it was a chance to finally prove myself outside of my family's influence. I wanted to be taken seriously, to stand on my own.
That night at dinner, my father brought up the topic as if he'd been reading my thoughts.
"So, Y/n," he began, setting his glass down and giving me one of his knowing smiles, "have you thought about where you'd like to apply for internships?"
I hesitated, stirring my soup. "Well... I'm still looking around. There are a few places I have in mind, but I haven't decided yet."
My father nodded, his gaze thoughtful. "I understand. But, have you considered applying to KTH Enterprise?"
My fork paused halfway to my mouth, and I looked at him in surprise. "KTH Enterprise?"
"Why not?" he said, raising an eyebrow. "It's one of the top firms in the industry, and with Taehyung's guidance, you'd be in good hands. He's led the company to great heights, and interning there would give you invaluable experience."
I thought back to the party—the quick, awkward encounter with Taehyung, the CEO of KTH Enterprise. There was something about him that left an impression, but I couldn't put my finger on it. The idea of working for someone so accomplished was... intimidating, to say the least.
"I don't know, Dad," I said hesitantly. "It just feels... complicated. He is a family acquaintance, and I wouldn't want to seem like I'm just using connections."
My mother, who had been quietly listening, chimed in. "Nonsense, Y/n. You're fully capable and qualified. No one would think that. Besides, Taehyung himself believes in hiring based on merit, so you'd still have to prove yourself like any other candidate."
"But still," I mumbled, fidgeting slightly. "What if he feels pressured to take me on because of our families' connection?"
My father gave me a reassuring smile. "Y/n, you have to understand that an opportunity like this doesn't come around often. KTH Enterprise is one of the best companies you could intern with, and I have no doubt that you'll earn your place there. Besides," he added with a wink, "you might surprise yourself with what you can accomplish."
I mulled over his words, feeling the weight of the decision. Despite my reservations, I couldn't deny that the prospect of interning at KTH was exciting. The company was renowned for its innovation, growth, and forward-thinking projects. Taehyung's reputation as a skilled and visionary CEO was well-known, and working under his leadership could be an opportunity that would change the course of my career.
I took a deep breath, letting my father's encouragement sink in. "Alright," I said finally, my voice steadier. "I'll give it a try. I'll apply to KTH Enterprise."
My father beamed, looking both proud and relieved. "That's my girl."
After dinner, I went to my room and pulled out my laptop. I stared at the screen, my fingers hovering over the keyboard, hesitant yet determined. I pulled up KTH Enterprise's website and navigated to the careers section, my heart racing slightly as I clicked through the application form.
As I filled out the fields, I found myself thinking back to Taehyung—the brief, fleeting interaction we had at the party, the way his presence had made such an impression despite our short exchange. His intense focus, his unspoken confidence, the way he carried himself... There was something undeniably magnetic about him. Though I admired him purely as a businessman, I couldn't deny my curiosity about him as a person.
Once I finished, I hovered over the "Submit" button, feeling a surge of nerves. This was it. The start of a new chapter, a step into a world that both excited and intimidated me. I took a deep breath and clicked "Submit," sealing my decision with a sense of finality.
As I closed my laptop, I felt a strange mixture of anticipation and doubt. Would Taehyung even remember me from the party? Would he see me as a capable candidate, or just another applicant with family connections? There was no way of knowing, but I knew one thing: I would give it my all.
No matter what happened, I was determined to prove that I was more than just a family name. I was ready to show the world—and myself—what I was truly capable of.

I met up with Tzuyu at our favorite café on campus, savoring the relaxed atmosphere. It felt good to be away from textbooks and have time to just talk about life, about the future, and about the dreams we'd been working toward for years.
We settled into a cozy corner by the window, each of us with a steaming cup of coffee in hand. After catching up on random things, I decided to tell her about my next steps. I took a deep breath, still feeling a bit of nervous excitement bubbling inside.
"Tzuyu, I finally did it," I began, unable to hide the smile that tugged at my lips. "I applied for internships. Three companies, including... KTH Enterprise."
Her eyes widened, and she nearly spilled her coffee in excitement. "KTH Enterprise? Y/n, that's huge! I'm so proud of you! And the other two companies?"
I grinned, feeling her excitement. "Yeah, it feels a bit surreal. The others are De'Luxe Advertising and Golden Line Marketing. They're both strong in the industry, but KTH Enterprise... well, it's the one I'm hoping for the most. You know how amazing their projects are and how innovative their work culture is."
Tzuyu nodded, still beaming. "I totally get it. You're aiming high, and that's exactly what you should be doing. But don't worry, wherever you go, you're going to be amazing."
I could feel my cheeks warming at her confidence in me. Tzuyu had always been my biggest supporter, pushing me forward and reminding me of my strengths when I doubted myself. "Thank you, Tzuyu. I'm trying to keep my hopes balanced, though. I mean, KTH is a big company, and I know I'll be competing against some top talent."
She reached across the table, giving my hand a reassuring squeeze. "Y/n, you're top talent too. And remember, if it's meant to be, it'll work out."
I nodded, taking comfort in her words. "You're right. Anyway," I continued, leaning in with excitement, "enough about me. What about you?"
Tzuyu's eyes sparkled with excitement. "I actually got an internship! I'll be working with Kim Na-Ri. She's an incredible designer, and she's launching a new collection soon. I'll be assisting her directly on some pieces."
I couldn't help but let out an excited gasp. "Tzuyu, that's amazing! Kim Na-Ri? She's practically a legend in the fashion world! You're going to learn so much."
Tzuyu nodded, her cheeks flushing a little from the praise. "I know, right? I'm nervous, but I also can't wait to get started. It's a dream come true. I'm just hoping I don't spill coffee on any of her designs or trip over something on my first day."
We both laughed, imagining her scrambling in the designer's studio. But I had no doubt she'd do brilliantly—Tzuyu's creativity and dedication had always been inspiring to me. She was the kind of person who poured her heart and soul into everything she did.
"Honestly, Tzuyu," I said, my voice turning a bit more serious, "you're going to be amazing. I can't wait to see your name in fashion magazines one day. You deserve every bit of this."
She gave me a heartfelt smile, reaching across the table to grab my hand. "And you deserve this new chapter too, Y/n. I know the last few years haven't always been easy for you, with everything weighing on your shoulders. But I'm proud of you for taking this step."
We both sat there in silence for a moment, letting the words sink in. It was true—I had gone through so much, balancing family expectations, studies, and my own dreams. But Tzuyu's words felt like a gentle reminder that I was on the right path, that I was finally doing something for myself.
"So," Tzuyu said, breaking the silence with a grin, "once we're both settled in our internships, we should celebrate. A mini getaway, maybe?"
I laughed, the thought lifting my spirits. "I love that idea. We'll need it after diving into our new worlds."
As we finished our coffee, I couldn't shake the sense of gratitude I felt for having a friend like Tzuyu. She reminded me to stay grounded, to be confident, and to pursue what made me feel alive. It felt like life was shifting, moving us toward something exciting and unknown, but with Tzuyu by my side, I knew I could face it all.
In that moment, sitting across from my best friend, I felt ready. For KTH, for new beginnings, and for whatever lay ahead.
