Y/N-
I sat on the couch in our living room, fidgeting a little as I scrolled through my phone, anticipation buzzing in my chest. I knew Taehyung would be surprised to see me back a day earlier than planned. I imagined the look on his face, and just the thought of it brought a smile to my lips.
It wasn't long before I heard the sound of the front door opening. I straightened up, setting my phone aside. When Taehyung stepped in and his eyes fell on me, he froze, blinking as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing. His eyes widened, and for a moment, he just stood there, looking at me with an expression that was equal parts shock and joy.
"Y/n... you're here!" he finally managed, his voice full of excitement.
Before I could respond, he crossed the room in a few quick strides and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into a tight hug. I hugged him back, sinking into his embrace and feeling his warmth surround me.
He pulled back just enough to look at me, grinning from ear to ear. "I can't believe you're here early! I missed you so much."
"I missed you too," I said, smiling up at him.
In an instant, he was showering my face with kisses, his lips brushing over my cheeks, my forehead, and even my nose, as I laughed, feeling warmth spread through me.
"You have no idea how much I needed this," he murmured softly, still holding me close. "Every single day felt endless without you around. It's like the house just didn't feel like home."
I chuckled. "You sound like you're giving me way too much credit. It was only a week, Taehyung."
He shook his head, feigning a pout. "A week is a long time. Especially when I've gotten used to waking up and seeing your face first thing in the morning. I barely managed to sleep."
"Is that so?" I teased, raising an eyebrow. "You look well-rested to me."
"Only because I spent most of the week talking to a picture of you," he replied with a playful grin. "Don't laugh! You have no idea what this week was like without you around."
"Alright, alright," I laughed, reaching up to gently brush a strand of hair from his forehead. "I'll admit, I missed you too. Maybe even more than I thought I would."
"Really?" he asked, his eyes lighting up.
I nodded, smiling. "Yes, really."
He gazed at me, his eyes softening. "I was counting down the days for you to come back. Now that you're here, it feels like the entire place just came back to life."
I felt a warmth rise in my cheeks as I held his gaze, his words making my heart skip a beat. "You're so dramatic, Taehyung," I joked, though there was an undeniable happiness spreading through me at his words.
"Only because I can be," he replied with a wink. "And you make me feel this way, so it's technically your fault."
I couldn't help but laugh, his energy infectious. "You're ridiculous, you know that?"
"And you love it," he said, giving me that mischievous smile that I couldn't resist.
"Maybe I do," I admitted, my voice softer as I glanced down. "Maybe... I've missed you a lot more than I wanted to admit."
He tilted my chin up with his hand, his thumb brushing gently over my cheek. "Then stay with me and never leave again. Or at least... if you do, take me with you."
I laughed, swatting his shoulder playfully. "I'll keep that in mind next time"
"Good," he replied, nodding in satisfaction. "As long as you know." He leaned closer, his voice softening. "Promise me you won't leave me alone for a week again?"
"Fine," I sighed dramatically, trying to keep a straight face. "I promise I won't go anywhere without you for that long again."
He smiled, pulling me into his arms once more. "That's all I needed to hear." He held me close, and we stayed like that for a while, wrapped up in each other. Finally, he pulled back, looking down at me with that gentle smile I'd come to adore.
"Welcome home, Y/n," he whispered, and I knew I was exactly where I belonged.

The weekend finally arrived, and with it, a sense of excitement I hadn't felt in a long time. Taehyung and I were headed to his family's farmhouse just outside the city—a quiet escape that we'd both been looking forward to. For me, though, there was an extra layer of anticipation because I had finally decided that this was the moment. I was going to confess my feelings to him, tell him that he wasn't just someone I'd grown fond of, but someone I truly loved. And maybe... take that next step with him.
As we drove through the city and into the more scenic outskirts, my mind wandered, playing over the perfect way to say the words. I wanted it to be romantic, something he'd remember. I wanted him to know how deeply I felt, that he was the person who'd made me feel seen, understood, and cared for in ways I hadn't thought possible. The thought filled me with a warm sense of joy, but also a touch of nervousness. What if I didn't find the right words? Or what if it was obvious I'd never done this before?
Taehyung's voice cut through my thoughts, bringing me back to the moment. "Y/n?" he asked, louder this time, a soft chuckle in his voice. "Are you even here, or are you on another planet?"
I blinked, looking over at him and laughing softly. "Sorry, I was just... thinking about something," I replied, keeping it vague for now.
He raised an eyebrow and gave me one of his playful, knowing smirks. "Uh-huh. Something interesting, I hope?"
"Maybe," I replied, my tone equally playful, hiding the fact that I was keeping a secret that I hoped would surprise him.
Taehyung turned his attention back to the road, the corners of his lips still turned up in that sweet, carefree smile that always made my heart race. I let out a small sigh and looked out the window, watching as the cityscape melted into lush fields and winding roads lined with tall trees. The countryside air was already making me feel more relaxed, and I knew this was the perfect setting for what I was planning.
As I finished the final touches on the setup—a heart shape made from rose petals on the bed and a few candles flickering softly—I took a deep breath. The room was filled with a soft, warm glow that made it feel intimate and special. Just what I wanted. I smoothed down my dress, my cheeks feeling warm with both excitement and nerves. The red dress hugged me in a way that felt daring but beautiful, perfect for tonight.
This was it. I was ready to tell him everything, to finally confess what had been in my heart for so long. My love for Taehyung had grown steadily, gently, until it was impossible to ignore. Now, I was ready to share it with him.
Just then, I heard Taehyung calling my name. His voice had a slight drowsiness to it from the nap, and it made me smile. He was probably wondering where I'd disappeared to after suggesting he get some rest. My heart skipped a beat as I heard his footsteps getting closer, and I quickly did a final scan of the room to make sure everything looked just right.
"Y/n?" His voice was getting closer, and I braced myself, my heart thumping with both anticipation and excitement. He would be here in just a moment.
The door creaked open, and there he was, standing in the doorway with a curious look in his eyes. The moment he looked at me, his gaze softened, and he froze for a moment as if he was taking in the sight. His eyes flicked over the rose petals, the candles, and then landed on me, his expression shifting from surprise to something warmer and more intense.
"Y/n...what's all this?" he asked softly, stepping into the room, his gaze never leaving mine.
I took a deep breath, feeling a burst of courage fill me as I stepped closer to him. "Taehyung," I started, my voice slightly shaky but full of intent. "There's something I've wanted to tell you for a while now."
His eyes softened as he looked at me, and I could see a glimmer of understanding in them. He took a gentle step closer, his hands reaching out to hold mine.
"I'm listening," he said, his voice warm and steady, giving me the confidence I needed to continue.
I looked into his eyes, feeling the love and sincerity welling up inside me. "I... I love you, Taehyung," I confessed, my voice filled with all the feelings I'd been carrying. "I didn't realize it at first, but you've become everything to me. You've always been there, understanding me, supporting me, and making me feel so safe and loved."
His eyes softened further, and a smile spread across his face as he gently cupped my cheek. "Y/n," he whispered, his thumb brushing against my cheek. "You don't know how much that means to me. I've been waiting, hoping... but I wanted you to come to this on your own."
My heart swelled at his words, and without another thought, I closed the gap between us, wrapping my arms around him. He pulled me into his embrace, holding me close as if he'd been waiting for this moment just as much as I had. The warmth of his arms around me felt like home, like this was exactly where I was meant to be.
He pulled back slightly, his eyes meeting mine with a warmth that melted any last bit of nervousness I felt. Leaning in, he pressed his lips to mine in a gentle, heartfelt kiss. It was tender at first, but as the emotions between us deepened, the kiss became more passionate, filled with all the love and longing we both felt.
When we finally pulled apart, breathless but smiling, Taehyung rested his forehead against mine. "I love you too, Y/n," he whispered. "More than I could ever tell you."
The room was quiet, but the silence was filled with warmth and love, a peaceful contentment that wrapped around us. As we stood there, holding each other, I knew that this was the beginning of a new chapter, one that we'd both been waiting for, even if we hadn't realized it.
