AUTHOR'S POV-
Taehyung's grandfather had always been a perceptive man, able to read the subtlest shifts in those he loved. Recently, he couldn't help but notice a soft, almost hidden affection in the way Taehyung would talk about Y/n. Though Taehyung was reserved and dutiful in his work, his grandfather had caught him stealing glances, or allowing a small smile when her name came up. It was something gentle, almost vulnerable—a side of Taehyung that he hadn't seen before.
With each passing day, Taehyung's grandfather grew more certain of one thing: Y/n was someone special to Taehyung. Knowing his grandson's cautious nature, he suspected that Taehyung might need a little push to fully realize what was right in front of him. And so, with a plan forming in his mind, he decided to take matters into his own hands.
Without mentioning a word of it to Taehyung, his grandfather dressed in his finest suit, one fitting for such an important meeting. He arranged a visit to Y/n's home, thinking it best to talk with her family directly. In the quiet elegance of her family's living room, he sat down with Y/n's parents, his expression warm and hopeful as he made his intentions known.
"Mr. and Mrs. Park," he began with a smile, his gaze kind. "I've come to speak about something important, something I believe could bring happiness to both our families."
Y/n's parents, a bit surprised but curious, exchanged glances and nodded for him to continue.
"My grandson, Taehyung, is a good man, one with a steady heart and strong values. In all my years, I've seen him work hard, commit himself to his responsibilities. But in these recent months... I've seen something different in him. A softness, a sense of care that's only there when Y/n is around. I believe he's found something special in her, even if he may not fully realize it himself."
He let his words linger, watching Y/n's parents' expressions. Both of them listened intently, expressions gradually turning from curiosity to understanding, and perhaps a hint of excitement.
"I came today to ask if you would consider something," he continued. "I would like to propose a marriage between our families, between Taehyung and your daughter, Y/n."
A soft silence filled the room as Y/n's parents processed the proposal. Her mother, who had also noticed a growing fondness between Taehyung and Y/n, felt a smile breaking across her face.
"We've come to admire Taehyung," Y/n's mother finally spoke, her voice warm. "He's a kind and respectful young man, and I have to admit, the thought of him as a part of our family is something that feels... right."
Her father nodded, looking thoughtful. "We agree with you. We would be honored, of course. But, of course, it is Y/n's decision. She's been very focused on her career, and while she cares about family deeply, she's never expressed much interest in marriage just yet."
Taehyung's grandfather nodded in understanding. "Of course, I would want Y/n to make her own decision. I have no intention of rushing her or Taehyung. I only wish for her to know that our family would be honored to have her as part of ours."
Y/n's parents promised they would speak to her about the proposal. They expressed how grateful they were for the kindness and care that Taehyung's grandfather had shown.
As he left Y/n's home that evening, Taehyung's grandfather felt a quiet sense of satisfaction. Whether or not this would lead to marriage was up to fate, but he believed he had taken a meaningful step.
Back at the Kim residence, he hid his smile, waiting to see what would come of his heartfelt request. And as for Taehyung, he would leave it to time to reveal just how deep his feelings truly ran.
Later that evening, Y/n's parents sat together in the quiet of their living room, reflecting on the unexpected visit from Taehyung's grandfather. Her father's face held a quiet excitement, and it wasn't long before he finally voiced his thoughts aloud.
"Taehyung," he began thoughtfully, "is such a remarkable young man. I've watched him grow and handle the responsibilities of his family business with a maturity far beyond his years. He's always respectful, hardworking... a man of true character. To think that he and Y/n might be suited for each other—it feels almost perfect."
Y/n's mother smiled, nodding in agreement. "I've thought the same thing myself, especially seeing how he looks at her, even in subtle ways. They balance each other, and he genuinely seems to care for her. I've seen him soften around her in a way I don't think he does with many people."
Y/n's father couldn't help but chuckle. "I can't deny that the thought of them together is reassuring. I've always hoped Y/n would find someone like him. It feels like a blessing that we didn't have to search far."
But despite their mutual excitement, there was a gentle caution in her mother's eyes. "I agree wholeheartedly, but we also need to respect what Y/n wants," she said gently. "She's worked so hard to get where she is, and she hasn't spoken much about marriage. This proposal will be a surprise for her."
Her father sighed, leaning back in his chair. "You're right, of course. She has her whole life in front of her, and we shouldn't rush her into anything. Still, it's hard not to feel happy about the possibility. If it's meant to be, I believe she'll see it too."
They both fell into a comfortable silence, imagining their daughter's future. Her father knew he'd feel a deep sense of pride to see Y/n with someone like Taehyung. He'd admired Taehyung for years and had watched as the young man steadily rose to become a respected leader in his own right. He was confident that if Y/n accepted, she would be cared for by a man who valued loyalty and integrity just as they did.
"Let's be gentle in how we bring this up to her," her mother finally suggested. "It's a lot to think about, and she might not have even considered the idea herself. We don't want to overwhelm her."
Her father nodded, a soft smile on his face. "Yes, of course. We'll give her time. Let her know how much we love and support her, no matter what she chooses."
They shared a knowing look, both feeling an unspoken sense of gratitude. Whatever Y/n's decision, they were proud of the life she was creating for herself, and they had no doubt that when the time was right, she would find the happiness and companionship she deserved.
