Mihee's POV

Now I was walking with my hands inside the pockets of my coat to prevent the cold wind in the evening.

My head was hurting so bad that I wanted to clear out all my stress. That stress was because of something that happened a few hours ago.

Flashback

"HAHAHA SHE'S SO DUMB!!"

I clenched my fists and closed my eyes to prevent myself from crying. I could hear every single giggle from the mouths of my classmates.
"Mihee,I think we should explain it to the teacher"My best friend Eunha held my hand to comfort me.

Just when I opened my eyes,I saw that bitch because of whom ,all this drama happened ,Yuna.

She simply smirked and then spoke
"Sir , it's fine that she copied my presentation cause now you know who had put her potential for this"

"YOU ARE THE ONE WHO COPIED ,BITCH!" Eunha lost her control and barked at her.

At that time,not to cause any more disturbance ,I silently left the hall.

Flashback end

"Why are you so naive , Mihee ?"I asked to myself.

To ease my mind,my footsteps took me towards my most favourite place,The Old Church Road.
Becoming an adult was becoming more and more suffocating for me ,so I always remembered my childhood through these places.

In a few minutes,I reached my destination, smell of the roses filled the environment and I could clearly hear the church bells ringing as it was the evening time.

I glanced at the beautiful rose garden with its different colours,the sun was slowly setting letting out its bright red rays to fall on me and soothe me.

"Wish someone like these rays would come and make me feel contented"

Just then I froze in terror,terror because of the  line that I just said.

With sad steps,I reached the most hated place in my fav area,the wishing well.

My eyes quickly shifted towards the metal board which was stuck on the well.

" This is your favourite place ,
Place a coin inside the well ,
and just wait till your wish comes true
Don't forget to wish with all your heart"

A sarcastic laugh left from my mouth as I read those words.

"Lies. These are all lies"I mumbled.

Flashback

"Mihee ,where are you going?!"my brother asked.

"Oppa just wait I'll save them"I replied and ran outside the hospital.

I ran and ran until,I reached the old Church road. Even though blood was dripping down from my forehead and my limbs were hurting like hell but I could care less.

I stopped infront of the wishing well near the Old Church.
I was about to place a coin but stupid me then remembered that I forgot to bring a coin with me.

But then  I noticed someone else was there too.When I came more closer,i noticed that it was girl probably a couple of  years older than me.

I went closer to her silently but then out of nowhere she turned around and gave me a sad smile. Her nose was red and tears were flowing down her cheeks.

After taking a huge breathe ,she spoke
"Need a coin,girl?"

I didn't know what happened but I felt that my mouth lost all its words  ,so I simply nodded.

Without saying anything, she came near me and gave me a coin and placed a small bandage on my bleeding forehead.

She was leaving but then suddenly a question struck me and I asked out of curiosity
"For whom did you wish?"

She turned around and gave that sad smile again before speaking
"I am here for my little brother. He is 16,probably the same age as you,I hope god listens to my request .I want him to be alive,to live his life as a new teen."

With that she left and my focus came back to the reason of why I had actually come here.

I threw the coin inside the well and with all the strength that I had ,I made my wish.

"Please save my parents ,god. I will always do my chores myself ,I will never argue with mom,I will never cry to get more stuff. Please send my angel to help me ,Save them please!".

After I made the wish,I felt like a huge weight was lifted off from my chest,even though I was crying but I felt relieved as I thought that the wishing well will fulfil my wish.

I returned back to the hospital just see my brother crying with his palms cupping his forehead.

"Oppa it's gonna be fine. I wished to god to send an  angel  to save mom and dad.I know they are going to be fine and healthy just like backdays"I tried to comfort my crying brother.

Just when I told him that ,his gaze shifted to me,and I noticed something really heartbreaking in his red swollen eyes.
Before I could say anything,he engulfed me into a hug and then slowly whispered

"Mom and dad are gone ,Mihee,forever".

Flashback end

A drop of tear left from my eye as I felt a sharp pang inside my heart because of that memory.

Without even noticing my handbag slipped from my hands and all my belongings got scattered nearby.

I checked my time and exclaimed
"Oh god,I am getting late for home!"

In a hurry,I dumped all my belongings and money inside the bag and ran to get back home.

Author's POV

Now the darkness was at its peak but the moonlight was there to show light to everyone. With the speed that Mihee picked up her belongings,she missed that one thing.

Although she left to her home happily but there was something that she was completely unaware of, a coin had accidentally fallen into the well.
