14 - Red Roses
Day 6
"Welcome home!" Eunji had just rounded from the living room, making her way down the hall to meet Jungkook taking off his shoes at the front door.
"Are these all the stuff I asked for?" she asked, picking up the bags of groceries that her husband had brought in with him, peering into them. Jungkook nodded, hanging his keys.
"Okay great, we have everything here!" Eunji continued turning on her heal to get to the kitchen down the hall, but came to a stop and turned back to him. "You can either come straight into the kitchen to help me out, or change out of your clothes, help me out, and then change back into a nice outfit."
Jungkook stopped midway, raising his brow.
"Aren't we just having dinner?"
"Yes, but it's a romantic dinner." she whirled back around to continue her path to the kitchen "We can't have a romantic dinner in our pjs!"
With his hands at his sides, watching his wife walk into the kitchen, Jungkook sighed.

"Okay, so the menu includes steamed veggies, rice and a creamy garlic chicken. And then I'm thinking of soybean soup as well."
Eunji watched as Jungkok wrinkled his nose at the end.
"You don't like soybean soup?" she gasped, in the middle of setting the carton of heavy cream down on the island counter. Her husband shook his head.
"Never been a fan of it."
Eunji stared up at him agape, with rounded eyes.
"It's so good though!"
"So I've heard,"
Crossing her arms over her chest, Eunji continued.
"Well I'm making it anyways."
"Suit yourself."
Jungkook shrugged and began unbuttoning his cuffs, curling up his white button up at the sleeves. His wife's eyes flickered to the veins protruding from his forearms, swallowing and blinking away her gaze.
"Well," she began, "I'll send you the recipe for the chicken, and I'll work on everything else. Does that work with you?"
With a nod from him, they soon got to work.
"Jungkook," Eunji called her husband's name over her shoulder while mixing the soybean soup that she was currently preparing. They had been working away in silence for about half an hour now.
He only hummed in response, not bothering to even look at her as he worked on the island with his back turned to her. She sighed, turning on her heel, about to call his name once more, only to see him do the same, stepping towards her.
Eunji backed up in front of the stove that she was working in front of, her breath caught in her throat as he did nothing but near her until they were face to face. He leaned over her, his arm resting on the hood of the oven ventilator, wetting his lips as he didn't break their eye contact.
"Eunji?"
His wife swallowed, the small space between their bodies clearly making her nervous.
"Y-yes?" she gulped, eyes wide.
There was a pause of silence.
"Can you move?"
It took a moment for her to process his words, her brows eventually furrowing in confusion.
"What?"
Jungkook stood up straight this time.
"I need you to move so I can get to the sauce." he didn't bother to hide the smirk that spread to his lips. If there was one thing he loved about their marriage, it was how flustered he could get her to be.
Blinking, Eunji gathered her thoughts, stepping to the side.
"Oh, sorry." she muttered quietly, watching as he stepped forward and grabbed the creamy sauce he had prepared earlier before returning back to his workspace on the island.
He set the pot down, and Eunji went back to stirring her soup, thinking about what had just happened, her husband's voice momentarily interrupting her thoughts.
"Oh, and Eunji?" Jungkook spoke over his shoulder, making her freeze. "What were you going to ask me?"
Eunji stood there for a moment, trying to recall.
"Oh, the salt. Can you pass me the salt?"

"And I think we're almost done!" Eunji stood in front of their dinner table, staring at their nice and romantic set up. Several candles illuminated the table and their fancy dining set that Eunji had chosen before they got married for special occasions just like this.
Jungkook stood behind her, leaning onto their island with crossed arms.
"Okay, so while the chicken is still baking, I'll go get ready, and you..." Eunji turned to see that Jungkook was still in his work attire, which was still appropriate for the occasion. "I guess you can sit around, but I still feel like something is missing."
Her head tilted this time, returning her gaze back to their dinner table while in deep thought.
All their food was ready, except for the chicken, and their table was fully set up, yet there was something that was clearly missing and she just couldn't put her finger to it.
A romantic dinner called for candles, food, and...
"Flowers!" Eunji swivelled on her heel, turning to her husband. "We don't have flowers!"
"Okay, and?" her husband responded with his usual neutral face.
"And that means that you have to go get some while I get ready."
"Eunji, we don't need flowers. Turn down the lights and it's as romantic as it gets." Jungkook sighed.
He didn't want to go buy flowers, but with the look in her eyes, it meant he eventually would have to whether he liked it or not.
"C'mon Jungkook," she whined, "we're having a romantic dinner this one time. I want to make it as nice as possible."
All he could do was groan in annoyance as his wife pouted.
He was right the first time, she wouldn't leave him alone until he got the flowers she wanted.
"Fine," he grumbled, shifting his weight off of the island. "But you better be ready by the time I get back or I'm eating without you."
"I will, don't worry!" a grin was plastered across her lips now as she watched him disappear around their kitchen corner and towards their front door. "And make sure to get roses! Red roses!!"
°•°•°
"Oh great, you're back!" Eunji came stepping down the steps with her black heels, her hair tucked over her one shoulder while a burning red over the knee dress with a wide neckline hugged her figure.
Jungkook, holding the roses that matched his wife's dress came to a halt, watching her walk down to him.
Taking the roses from him, she made her way towards the kitchen, her husband taking a moment to register it all.
Eunji never wore red.
Red looked nice on Eunji.
Clearing his throat, he blinked away his thoughts, following her to their awaiting dinner table.
"You choose the wine," she spoke over her shoulder from the stove, and he complied without a word.
Setting down his choice of drink onto their table, Eunji joined him while carrying the pot of soup, setting it down on the open space she had made for it earlier.
He took his seat and she filled a bowl.
"Here you go," Eunji placed the steaming hot bowl of soup in front of her husband who did nothing but wrinkle his nose.
"I told you I don't like soybean soup, Eunji ." He spoke as she poured herself a bowl.
"I know, but you haven't tried my soybean soup."
She placed her own bowl down, and strided towards the lights to turn them down and create the perfect romantic atmosphere she had been striving for.
"It's not going to make a difference."
Taking her seat across from him, she only tilted her head.
"I'm not giving you anything else until you at least try it."
"Well I'm not trying it."
God, if there was one trait that she could take away from her husband's personality, it would definitely be his stubbornness.
She hoped their kids wouldn't inherit the trait.
Eunji sighed.
"Just one sip is all I'm asking for. Please."
Shifting his gaze from her pleading eyes and to the steaming bowl in front of him, Jungkook internally groaned. He hated the soup growing up, and he knew he wasn't going to like it now.
But anything was better than an upset wife, he had learned
Grumbling to himself, he reached for his spoon, taking a small scoop and bringing it to his lips to sip.
Hm, not bad.
"So?" Eunji asked, anticipating his reaction as he placed his spoon down.
"I already told you, don't like it."
Huffing, his wife stood from her spot in defeat, turning away from him as she went to the kitchen to prepare his plate.
He took a spoon full of the soup while her back was to him. Then another.
Maybe he remembered the taste wrong, cause this wasn't bad at all.
Another spoon unbeknownst to her.
But she didn't have to know that.
