Jungkook caressed the soft, pinkish cheek with a soft smile with all care he could muster. He was afraid that he'd bruise the skin if he pressed a little harder.

Jimin was so soft and warm, smelling like a garden of roses, drenched in fresh morning dew. So pleasant and calming. Jungkook inhaled lungful after lungful of his scent, not wanting to leave him but knowing he had to.

The omega was curled inside his nest and looked so small with his covers pulled over him. He eyed the shoes he removed from his feet earlier and wondered where it went, deciding to leave them at the foot of the bed since he didn't know how Jimin preferred it.

With a soft press of his lips on the omega's forehead, he murmured good night, received a soft hum in response. That drew another smile.

As he walked out, his wolf was content. They smelled like their omega and he could tell he was going to have one of the best night's nights of sleep again. As the kingpin who ruled entire Asia and some of the European countries, Jungkook never thought he'd mate for love as it was never a custom for his family.

Several alphas wanted to marry off their omegas to him. They send business proposals and extravagant gifts to him almost every day in hopes to get on his good side. He was the most desired alpha in both the business world and the underground.

In fact, his family was very close to accepting the mating proposal of the daughter of the Italian crime lord when Taehyung literally crashed into his life with Jimin in tow. Jungkook was furious was an understatement.

"Jungkook, you're twenty-eight. As per the code you have to mate before thirty," Yoongi said. "The underbosses and others are already asking about your mating."

They were in a meeting in their base. Yoongi, his consigliere has been concerned with his mating for a while now. Namjoon, his second-in-command and Hoseok, his third was in the same page.

"You keep rejecting every omega we send your way," Namjoon added exasperatedly. "Your father also called today asking what your decision is."

Jungkook scrunched his nose. "I'm not interested. They all smell like shit."

He was sensitive to smells and didn't like scents that were too sweet and cloying. He didn't like the ones those were too pretentious.

"La Cosa Nostra is not someone you should mess with." Yoongi crossed his legs with a clench of his jaw. "No one has ever said no to them. You've met Isabella and you didn't complain about her scent. Also, we cannot just reject their proposal without a valid reason."

"I agree with hyung," Namjoon interjected. "This is serious, Jungkook. Unless you already have an omega you're in love with, you cannot cancel this proposal."

"They're deep in bed with the Bratva and the Triads. You don't want them as our enemies, Jungkook-ah," Hoseok added. "It's a matter of prestige. The La Cosa Nostra won't take your rejection kindly."

Jungkook scoffed. Fortunately, the Bratva and the Triads leaders didn't have an omega offspring. Still, he'd received a few proposals from their close circles, which he rejected without any preamble. He'd always known love wasn't in the cards for him. It was never in his family. They mated the omega that added more value to their business.

He reclined in his seat and crossed his leg. Jungkook knew he put off his mating proposals for as long as he could and they were at the end of their rope with La Cosa Nostra. The man had met Jungkook in person a couple of months ago at a crime syndicate meeting. They'd talked for a while and by the end of the night, he had a proposal he couldn't turn down without causing a war.

Italy's biggest crime syndicate didn't have an alpha born to carry forward their legacy and the crime lord Jungkook as a potential son-in-law. Rich, powerful, and handsome. His daughter was smitten and that was all he needed.

The man was hell bent to give his daughter what she wanted and that included Jungkook. That alone was enough reason for Jungkook to reject her. He wasn't a fucking commodity. It didn't sit well with his wolf.

Jungkook looked away. The mating would unite the Dragons with one of the biggest mafias in Europe. He had no reason to say no. But he didn't want to say yes either. He didn't feel anything toward the omega. There wasn't an attraction. He could tolerate her scent but that was all.

"Our next meeting is in five days. We cannot push it off any longer," Yoongi insisted.

Jungkook was about to respond when he received the call and his eyes widened upon noticing the name on his screen.

Taehyung calling...

He had half the mind to reject the call. He'd been gone for years from his life and how dare he was to call him now. He gritted his teeth and his scent shifted. Namjoon peeked on his screen and his expression changed.

He eyed Jungkook and his phone. The call ended with Jungkook just staring at the screen.

"Jungkook-ah..."

He growled, silencing the other alpha. Namjoon always had a soft spot for his little brother. But Jungkook didn't give a fuck. Taehyung might have saved his life once, even after he left the Dragons. It didn't mean Jungkook had to be there for his every beck and call.

The phone began to ring again and Jungkook clenched his jaw.

"Don't speak to him if you don't want to. But at least hear what he has to say now. He doesn't even call us unless it's an emergency." This time Namjoon reached for it and swiped his finger over the answer button, putting it on loudspeaker.

Jungkook only scoffed. Taehyung had visited a few times after he left. He attended a few festive dinners and family gatherings but Jungkook had refused to join them. Then during one of such gatherings, Taehyung had taken a bullet to save Jungkook, protecting him one of the coup against him. The assassin had sneaked into his garden and Taehyung who was in search of his best friend was there on the right time to jump in front of the gun and alerted the very distracted Jungkook on time.

At first, they heard nothing except for a soft sniffle. They eyed each other as the other alphas in the room leaned to the phone.

Jungkook tensed when a soft, distressed voice begged, "Stay with me. Baby bear, stay with me, please."

Who was that? And why did he have Taehyung's phone?

"J-JK," Taehyung wheezed. It sounded more like a gurgle and Jungkook was on his feet immediately. "F-Favor. T-Tell h-him."

"Track his phone. Prepare our team," he barked. Yoongi and Hoseok were out immediately.

"What favor?"

Taehyung's breathing was shallow and Jungkook's body was tense as a bowstring. "T-Tell him my name. JK owes me. I-I'm c-cashing it now."

That motherfucker. Jungkook growled again. He could tell he was at the verge of dying and even now the only thing he cared was for his omega.

"I don't understand a thing," the stranger cried. "I-I'll tell him. Just stay with me please. D-Don't leave me."

"JK. Need JK."

It appeared as if the stranger didn't know he'd answered the call.

"T-TaeTae!" There was so much desperation in his voice that Jungkook felt a pang in his chest. This must be the omega Taehyung was with. "Please..."

The door opened and Yoongi poked his head inside. "We have a lead."

Jungkook was out of the door immediately followed by Namjoon. They ran faster, reaching for their cars. Namjoon was on another phone barking orders as Yoongi maneuvered their vehicle. They raced down the streets through the night as Jungkook listened to the weak cries of the omega.

"H-Help."

Jungkook felt another growl build in his chest. His memories with Taehyung flashed in his mind one after the other. He was younger than him by two months. They grew up together, stuck to each other through thick and thin. Then Taehyung left.

"Taehyungie..."

His roar was uncontrolled and he slammed his fist on the seat, his wolf pacing inside his chest. He wanted blood. Whoever hurt Taehyung was going to pay.

The drive took longer than usual. The call was still ongoing but there was no sound. Namjoon had taken the phone from him and kept calling for the omega. But there was no answer.

Jungkook jumped out of the car even before it stopped properly and rushed inside the hotel. At first sight of the Black Mamba members, his blood boiled. If they were the reason for Taehyung's condition then they had hell to pay.

"They're on the eighth floor," someone yelled.

Jungkook blindly reached for the elevator, didn't even wait to see who followed him and who didn't. His wolf was agitated, ready to burst free and shift but he couldn't do that now. He needed both his hands in case the assailants were still there and they wielded weapons.

He rushed through the corridors and growled, his eyes flashing red as he smelled blood. Withered peppermint was thick in the air along with other unidentified scents. He burst through the door where the blood had seeped out of the door, only to freeze at what he saw.

Taehyung, his ex-best friend, was on the floor, looking pale and lifeless, drenched in the pool of his own blood. It didn't take a genius to figure out what had happened. Five other alphas were dead, torn, and ripped apart as if an animal attacked them. Taehyung must have been very furious when he attacked. Then his eyes landed on the small figure curled around Taehyung's unconscious form. He was shirtless and drenched in Taehyung's blood, Taehyung's phone clutched in his hand.

"He's alive," Namjoon announced. He then checked the omega's pulse. "Both are alive but not for very long. Their pulse is very weak."

"Looks like they were drugged," Hoseok announced, lifting the syringe in one hand.

"Take them to Seokjin," Yoongi barked and they got to work.

Jungkook stood back as he watched them being removed from the premises. The omega's head lolled to the side. He was delicate with silver hair and soft facial features. As he stared, he realized the magazines or other newspapers hadn't done justice to his beauty.

This is Park Jimin. The one who stole Taehyung. The reason he left me. Jungkook registered bitterly, but he couldn't help the way his wolf kept clawing at his chest.

The hotel was a war zone a couple of minutes later. Jungkook in a fit of rage ordered every Black Mamba member in the premises to be killed without mercy. Taehyung might not be a member of the Dragons anymore, but he was his best friend and he was still protective of him. Anyone who dared to hurt Taehyung must die.

Two days later when he visited Jimin for the first time in the clinic, his knees almost gave up the moment he smelled the omega. It reminded him of the rose garden in their mansion, a place where he often went to hide when things got a bit too much for him to handle. He was reminded of his safe place and Jungkook didn't know how to process this information.

His face was an impassive mask as usual. It came with years of practice but on the inside, his wolf was at war. He couldn't see this man as Taehyung's omega. His wolf was ready to fight the alpha for it and such a reaction had caught him off guard.

They were together for years and how can he even think of something like that. Jungkook was torn. Never had his wolf reacted in such a manner before. He'd taken a day to cool off and reign in his emotions before he met them again. He couldn't let this affect him. This omega was the reason he lost his best friend. He had to remember that.

Then Taehyung came up with the offer. To say Jungkook wasn't expecting that in the least.

"Protect him," he had pleaded. "He's gone through hell. His beauty is the bane of his existence. He doesn't deserve this, Jungkook-ah. He deserves to be happy and deserves to be loved."

"I just told you —"

"Mate him," Taehyung cut in. "No one will dare to touch your mate."

Jungkook had sucked in a breath, not expecting Taehyung would ask him something like that. His wolf, however, perked up and began to wag its tail. It had already claimed the omega and it was suddenly on board with whatever Taehyung had to say.

"You owe me your life, Jungkook. I'm holding on to your promise. You're a man of honor. You told me when the time came you'll repay me with anything I demand of you. This is my demand. I expect you to hold your end of the bargain."

As wolves, they were often driven by their primal instincts and now Jungkook's instincts were haywire. He wanted to stay angry at Taehyung for abandoning him and blame Jimin for being the cause of it but what Taehyung told him next had shaken him to the core.

"Jiminie..." he continued. "H-He didn't have it easy. He was an orphan who grew up in foster homes. His foster dad...he was abusive." He swallowed. "He didn't have a great childhood." Tears filled Taehyung's eyes. "He...he was a victim of sexual abuse in high school."

Jungkook froze.

"I-I wasn't there to protect him. T-They left him to die...those fucking bastards. He was...he was bleeding out." He gritted his teeth. "I-I left because I wanted to kill them and knew our code would never allow me to harm them for a wolf that didn't belong to our pack. I left to protect him. I took him away."

"Taehyung-ah..." Seokjin's voice cracked.

Jungkook's head swam. His wolf was raging inside him. He wanted to kill those bastards. Find them one by one and cut them to pieces. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Couldn't believe the delicate omega that smelled like roses had gone through hell and beyond. His wolf felt ashamed for even blaming him.

"I was all he had. The only one he could trust not to take advantage of him. I couldn't leave him behind. My wolf...my wolf saw him as my blood. I felt protective of him and knew that wasn't enough reason to extend our protection to him."

Jungkook was speechless as he processed his friend's words.

"He's my blood bond, my soulmate. I'll do anything to protect him. Even if my life is a price for it, I'm willing to pay," he wheezed. "I killed every wolf that hurt him, ripped them limb to limb, and left no trace. We even left the country and thought we could start over but that fucking Kang..."

Jungkook knew exactly what would happen if they stepped out. Kang Minhyuk was a bastard who didn't give a fuck about the others. He was even involved in human trafficking, something Jungkook never approved of. He'd been looking for ways to stop Kang and now this has made it his purpose.

"Jimin is the kindest omega you'll ever meet. Anyone who gets to mate him is a fortunate alpha. I'm giving you that honor, Jungkook. Take him as your mate. Protect him."

But then Jungkook didn't know if mating Jimin was the right thing to do. It wasn't that easy. He was supposed to say yes to mate Isabella. And he wasn't sure if he was the right alpha for someone as good as Jimin.

"What about you?" Jungkook tilted his head to the side. He didn't want to give in yet.

"I'll join the dragons."

"What if Jimin doesn't want this?" Jungkook asked.

Taehyung swallowed. "I'll talk to him and make him understand."

Jungkook scoffed. "You ask too much, Taehyung. You're trying to protect your pack omega from vile men and yet here you're ready to sell his soul to the devil himself."

Taehyung averted his gaze. "I know."

"Then why?"

"Because I know you won't hurt my Jiminie. You may not be the right person for someone like him, but I know you'll protect him with everything you got and give him a better life. I know you'll treat him right and with you, he will always have a choice."

"You want me to mate him, Taehyung. Mating is for life. What choice does that give him?" Jungkook growled. "He'll be stuck with me forever, whether he likes it or not."

Taehyung regarded him for a long moment. "He will have a choice to say yes or no. I know you'll respect his wishes and will never force him to do something he doesn't want to do. I know my request is atrocious, unreasonable even. At least with you, he will know he wouldn't be violated against his will. With you, he wouldn't have to live with that fear every time you step into the same room as him. Please...Jungkook."

Jungkook didn't have an argument against that. Taehyung was right. He'd never touch him against his will or force him to do something he didn't want to do.

"Taehyung-ah, you ask too much of him," Seokjin said.

"I have no choice, hyung. Jungkook is twenty-eight and single. He's not seeing any omega and he'll have to mate and sire a child before thirty as per the code. Why not my Jiminie? He's beautiful inside and out. He might not be from our world, maybe too pure even, but you'll never find someone as perfect as him for our Jungkook."

Seokjin sighed exasperatedly. "You don't understand. How can you demand something like this from him just because he owes you? It's his life."

"In that case, we will leave."

Jungkook suppressed a growl. He knew very well what the motherfucker was doing.

"What?" Seokjin growled.

"Minhyuk won't stop until he gets his hands on Jiminie. Now I also became his target by killing his men. We just have to disappear." Taehyung sighed. "I knew what I was getting into. We will leave as soon as I'm discharged."

"Taehyung-ah..." Seokjin called helplessly while his mother whimpered. Jin glanced at Jungkook while the alpha stood still.

"It's okay, hyung. It was wrong for me to ask him something like this. I understand. Can I see Jimin?"

"He's sleeping. I'll bring him once he's awake."

Taehyung nodded and turned to Jungkook. "Thanks for saving us this time." Their gazes met and locked. "You saved two lives, risking everything for someone who isn't your pack anymore. I'll call it even and relieve you from your debt. It was wrong for me to demand you something like this. Thank you, JK."

Fuck you, Kim fucking Taehyung. Fuck you and curse you to hell.

But Jungkook didn't want to give him the pleasure of knowing he was winning the argument. If Taehyung knew how to play his cards, Jungkook knew how he would play and what card he would pull next too.

"I'll see you later," was all he said when he exited the room.

His heart tightened at the memory of Jimin's sob when Taehyung said he'd have to kill him if he couldn't protect Jimin anymore. When he looked at the omega there was just acceptance and resignation to his fate that Jungkook felt someone was ripping his heart out of his chest.

Though he'd already decided that he'd refuse the offer of the Italian mafia, he'd decided then and there Jimin was going to be his omega. His wolf was ready to claim him then and there. That was what he did. As for Taehyung, the motherfucker would pay. He would pay dearly for abandoning him all these years.

As Jungkook rounded the corner, he ran into Taehyung and Yoongi. They appeared to be in some deep conversation. He was about to take a different route when Yoongi pinned Taehyung to the wall, pressing his face into the wall with a growl.

A week ago when Taehyung asked Jungkook if his consigliere was into alphas, Jungkook told him to find out for himself. He's been flirting on and off with Yoongi whenever they were together much to Yoongi's chagrin. He didn't expect Taehyung to ask Yoongi the same. His suspicion was confirmed when Yoongi spoke his next words.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't rip your throat," Yoongi growled. "You thought you could just bend me like some damn omega begging for your cock." He added more pressure to his grip on Taehyung's arm that was bent in an awkward position causing him to wince. "Is that what you thought, baby alpha? Do I look like some omega you could fuck into submission?"

Taehyung's chest heaved. "D-Don't know."

"What?" Yoongi's grip on him tightened and he cried out. "I'll rip off your knot and let's see then."

"I-I wouldn't know," Taehyung said with a soft whimper. "N-Never has been with an omega."

This time Yoongi's expression turned murderous. Jungkook felt like he shouldn't witness this but he couldn't just leave. His fists clenched. "So you take pleasure in bending alphas or betas to your will, huh?"

"Why does it matter?" Taehyung grunted. "Why does it matter who bends whom?"

Yoongi shook his head. "You must be crazy, Taehyung." He released him and took a step back. "I wish I could kill your cocky ass right now but that'd hurt Jimin. You're not welcome here. You're only here because of Jimin and I hope you keep that in mind every day."

Taehyung scoffed this time. "You could have just said you aren't interested."

He shrugged and bent to pick something from the ground, pocketing it, but Jungkook saw the sheen of tears in his eyes. He knew his friend like the back of his hand and knew he was hurting. Taehyung was doing one hell of a job in hiding his pain.

"You're an idiot to think I'd bend for you."

Taehyung sighed this time. "Why are you so obsessed with that bending thing?"

Yoongi pivoted on his heel without answering him.

"You know I'd bend for you, hyung."

Yoongi stopped. "Didn't know you had a thing for an alpha's cock. Is that it?"

"Why do you have to associate everything with that?" This time Taehyung frowned but then his shoulders slumped. "To answer your question, I don't know," he said again. "I don't know what it is like." Yoongi narrowed his eyes at him and Taehyung looked away. "Jimin is the only wolf in my life," he whispered.

Jungkook's heart ached upon hearing the longing in his voice. He realized he didn't know so many things about Taehyung and just what kind of life he led after he left the Dragons. He could only wonder how much they both had to sacrifice.

Suddenly he remembered the times Taehyung would talk about their first times as a newly presented alpha. He was a hopeless romantic by heart and wanted to shower his lover with lots of courting gifts before he even asked them for a kiss. Now that he thought about it, he realized Taehyung must have not have gotten to experience majority of the things he said he wanted.

"Then what were you hoping for then?"

"Maybe a date," Taehyung sounded hopeful. "Holding hands and talking whatnots. A few forehead kisses here and there."

Yoongi looked away this time. "Leave me alone, Taehyung. Next time you come to me with a courting gift, I'll put a bullet between your eyes. Jimin will have to find another blood bond."

Taehyung's shoulder dropped further and he pursed his lips as he watched Yoongi leave. Jungkook clenched his jaw. Yoongi was a strange wolf. He never saw him showing an ounce of affection or softness to anyone. He'd joined him just a little after Taehyung's departure and had been with him since then. That man never even flinched when someone shot him.

Taehyung's bitter scent was almost painful to breathe in and he decided it was time to make his presence known.

"I'm sorry." Jungkook didn't know why he said that.

Taehyung smiled sadly. "It's okay. He could have just said he isn't interested." He looked in Yoongi's direction and sighed. "I'll just go."

Jungkook watched Taehyung disappear in the direction he just came from. He'd have to have a word with Yoongi. It didn't take long though. Yoongi was waiting for him outside his room to give him an update. He opened his mouth to say something but Jungkook acted first by pinning Yoongi to the wall with a growl.

The alpha bared his neck immediately though he didn't know what the reason was. "Talk to my Tae one more time like that, I'll rip your throat off," he warned. "I might hate him, I'll punch him or rip him into shreds but that's between us. Disrespect or hurt him one more time, you'll have to answer me."

"Yes, alpha."

Jungkook released him and stepped back, adjusting his suit jacket. "Taehyung isn't like other asshole alphas you're acquainted with. I know you don't have a fucking preference. Tomorrow, you'll apologize to him."

"What? But—"

"I wasn't asking for your opinion." Jungkook narrowed his eyes.

"Yes, alpha."

Jungkook straightened with a satisfied smile. "Good. And buy him a fucking courting gift. He is a romantic and loves lilies." He didn't wait to hear what Yoongi had to say. Instead, he slammed the door to his bedroom and went straight to his bed, wanting to savor the scent of his omega on him.

He he sowwie...but many wanted JK's POV. Hope you enjoyed it.
