I run through the front door and look for Mackenzie, I then find her in the kitchen crying in the corner and I look to see is covered in blood and has fresh cuts all along he arms along with the injurious Daniel gave her, I run over to her and help her up.

"Come on i'm getting you out of here," I say.

I then see a tall man with black hair and beard and dark brown eyes walk in.

"Oh look at this it looks like Mackenzie's little friend is here to save her pathetic ass," he interrupts.

He then  goes to hit  me but Mackenzie jumps in front of me and takes the hit causing her to fall to the ground as she lets out a yelp.

"Well look at that, she’s trying to save her friend," he grumbles.

He then goes and hits me, I then see anger in Mackenzie's eyes.

"You son of a bitch!" she hisses as she goes and kicks him in the balls causing him to bend over in pain and she kneed him in the nose before she grabs his arm and pushes him to the ground, she then grabs my hand and pulls me out of the house.

We get outside and Mackenzie gestures for David and the kids to run, we run down the road and arrive at a house which I suppose is Davids, we then run inside and David calls for him mom, Mackenzie not letting go of my hand.      

She then runs into the room we're in and sees us.

"What happened?" she asked looking worried.

"Daniel is what happened," David answers.

"Oh god, come on kids into the kitchen i'll help clean you up," Davids mom says as she takes Mackenzie's siblings into the kitchen.

Mackenzie then heads to what I suppose is the bathroom to clean up.

I go into the living room and hang out there fora while

"Yo David do you know where Mackenzie went?" I ask as he sits on his bed reading a comic book.

"She’s on the roof," he says pointing out his window not taking his eyes off his book.

I nod and head to the window and climb onto the roof to see Mackenzie                                                     
I go and sit beside her.                                                              I look up to see the beautiful sunset made of orange and pinkish colors and I'm amazed by how beautiful it is.

"You okay?" she asks looking at me with worried eyes.

"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" I ask looking back at the sky.

She then takes her hand and puts it on my cheek turning my head so she can see where I got hit.

"I'm fine," I mumble.

"No you're not, i'm so sorry this I all my fault," she apologizes.

"No it’s not, you tried to help and i'm sorry I couldn't help you,"

"Well the only good thing now is that authority's will most likely not let Daniel take care of us anymore,"

"Well that is good,"

We then sit there on the roof talking for a couple more hours before David calls us inside.           
                   
When we get inside we settle down for the night, I call my grandparents to tell them i'm staying at a friends house so they don't worry.                                                                                   
As I lay there I think about what happened today, i'm usually not tired at this time but for some reason i'm really tired right now, I then drift into a deep sleep as I lay there peacefully.

I wake up to the sound of yelling and bolt up off the floor.

"What the hell is going on?" I mumble rubbing the sleep out of my eyes  

I then feel a hand cover  my mouth and look up to see it is Mackenzie with her index finger to her lips as she clearly wants me to be quiet, I nod and she moves her hand.                                                    
We sit there as I hear yelling from downstairs and it sounded like Davids step-dad and Daniel        
David then walks in and looks at me and Mackenzie.

"I got you're sibling in the attic with Bonny my older sister," he whispers "And my mom says the cops are on the way," he added sitting down across from us.

We then hear footsteps storming up the stairs and we know it’s Danial.

"Shit, guy's to the roof," Mackenzie whispers and David goes first and Mackenzie lightly pushes me to go before her, but when she’s about to go out the window I hear Daniel burst into the room.

I then hear the sound of someone falling to the ground, I go to go back in but David grabs my hand and doesn't let me.

I then sit there covering my ears not wanting to hear the pain Mackenzie is in, but I then hear more men yelling and it sounds like the cops, I go back to the window and see that Mackenzie is lying on the ground and the cops have Daniel.                                                              I go up to Mackenzie with David following me and she sits up.

"Thank god you two are okay," she says with a weak voice.

"Are you okay?" David asks.

"Yeah i'm fine, thanks," she replies.

We then go and check on Mackenzie's siblings to see their all okay and I pull Mackenzie aside.

"I'm really happy you're okay," I say to the blonde.

She lightly laughs "Me to, but I'm more concerned about you, how are you feeling?" She asks placing a hand on my check making me blush

"I-I'm good..." I say.

"Thats good," she says giving me her famous smile that could make anyone melt and feel better and I smile back.

The rest of the summer was good. Mostly spent hanging out and mackenzie and her siblings staying with a temporary faster family till they found one that could watch them for longer. But the people they were staying with were kind and took good care of them which I was happy about.

In general everything was great, and im glad it was. But sadly the summer comes near a end and I end up going back to my home town but I know I'll be back.
