Ch34 Prom
This is it! the most anticipated day of our life, the day we have been dreaming about for at least half an entire year. Not for us, but our teachers Mr. Cruz and Mr. Davis.
I looked at the mirror nervously adjusting my stupid pink tie and the pink corsage, why does Silvia even need to wear pink? And my mom even bought me a super tacky one, at least my black suit looks great.
The horn of Ben's car made me run downstairs grabbing my phone, we decided to take Ben's, Luke's and Noah's car and just adjust. I am going with Ben and our dates, Noah will pick Nathan and their dates and we just left Luke to suffer alone with his date.
"Hello, dear pink tie." Silvia treated me mockingly.
"I am just a pink tie, you are literally pink from head to toe." I grunted. She was clad in a pink long, elaborate dress and even her face looked pink. "Why is your face so pink?" I asked to which she and Kathy who was on the passenger seat laughed.
"Ever heard of makeup?" she teased.
"Yeah, but you look too pink, does everyone look so pink in makeup?" I asked just curious at this point.
"There are levels of makeup, we are not that pink when it's everyday makeup, but special occasion makeup is also special." she explained.
"Believe me, Peter, I didn't even recognize them at first." said Ben from the driver's seat looking very uncomfortable in his suit, he only ever wore shirts and shorts.
We got down in front of the school as Ben went to park his car, just then Noah's car also stopped next to us and Nathan, Lucy and Lily stepped out.
To my amusement, Lucy and Lily didn't look happy and were low-key glaring at each other. Lily wore a red long dress and Lucy was a slightly pinkish-red shorter one. Nathan walked to me in his black suit and pinkish-red which mostly looked red, tie and his red corsage.
"Apparently Lucy didn't tell Lily she was also wearing red," he whispered as Noah and Ben came back from the parking.
"That two-faced witch." came a whisper-shouting voice behind us.
"But Silvia, I can see many people wearing red. What's the problem if she wore it too?" I asked honestly confused.
"Yes, colors clash but she told us she'll wear orange. Girls don't like to wear the same color as their friends if you think of them as friends. She cheated Lily's dress, I regret showing her our dresses." she finished, with anger and I looked at my friends, all of us wearing the same black suits, and black shirts in different sizes that we bought together from the same shop.
"Yeah, friends shouldn't cheat." I agreed with a weak voice.
"Let's go guys." said Luke from behind us.
"Where did you come from?" I asked startled.
"My dad drove us, he just dropped me here." he answered rolling his eyes, they will fall off one of these days.
"Sure let's go, you too Lucy." said Emily with a mock sweet tone. I decided it's better if we leave this cold war to the girls.
We were on the steps to enter our school when Ben suddenly shouted- "Stop".
We turned around to look at him confused when he pointed at the new Limo that stopped on the front. To our absolute surprise, the door of that sleek black Limo opened to reveal a well-suited Mr. Cruz in Tuxedo. His suit hugged him like it was stitched to perfection, most people look like waiters in suits, but his presence looked magnetic.
And if that wasn't enough shock, another figure clad in the perfect Tuxedo followed. It was Mr. Davis, his hair styled down to cover his forehead looking like soft waves framing his face perfectly. His tux wrapped around his body perfectly, his white shirt peeking from the front.
When they stood together, I can swear I saw them shining. But the shine didn't last long as Mr. Davis gave his hand and pulled out Ms. Wilson dressed just as beautifully.
She came out of the Limo and stood between Mr. Cruz and Mr. Davis as they helped her smooth out her dress.
"Why does she always have to be with them?" Ben whined near me.
"Are you guys sure they are not a throuple?" Nathan whispered on the other side.
"No!" we shouted at the same time.
"For God's sake Nathan, they are literally siblings, how could you say such things!" said Luke banging his head on the nearest wall.
"Hey! Firstly, you are an atheist. And secondly, fine that does sound gross." said Nathan pouting as he accepted that his mouth is a trash can.
"You guys will go in or not?" came a loud voice from behind us. I looked back startled to see our dates standing thankfully far from hearing range but clearly angry.
"Yeah sure, let's go!" Ben said running inside and we followed.
The school was decorated with pink balloons, ribbons, disco lights, and whatnot. Some of the decorations I remember seeing in the storage room. Our school is pretty big with lots of open areas and the gym area is big enough to hold the entire school comfortably. Perks of being the only high school in the town I guess.
Lights formed a canopy on the high ceiling and big speakers were placed on all four corners. Two long tables ran on both sides of the hall with drinks and snacks. Ben tiptoed to the table, he and his date smuggling the food down their throats. Even Nathan and Noah joined them, they did look tense and hungry.
As the school started filling up with more multicolored dressed people, the music started getting louder and the lights started dimming with only colorful lights shining around. The music playlist mostly was just loud voices and banging electric guitars which teachers changed to songs that did sound like songs.
We were never in music much so everything sounded the same except for those electric guitars. A makeshift dance floor was created where the dance students faced off each other and people stood in circle clapping and booing.
It was very new to us, we had to physically stop Ben and Nathan from jumping in the circle and embarrass us. Kathy and Lucy did enjoy themselves instigating the boys to jump into the circle
Unlike our previous intention, we did really enjoy the company of our dates as they explained why some girls were saying numbers while looking at people. Apparently, some people gave numbers to people's looks, and they were definitely not generous with it.
"Guys, where is Lucy?" asked Silvia in the middle of a conversation about the hopefully spiked drinks. We all looked around.
Ben motioned us to look at the corner around the food table, and what we saw was a little too unexpectedly horrifying.
