SHIT WE ARE LOST

"Okay everybody, no one panics." shouted Nathan in a frenzy as he dumped his bag and started searching for something making a little 'aha' sound as he came up with a compass in hand. "okay so it is north ahead," he said looking in the compass.

But before anyone could get a sigh of relief he looked around and asked the most ridiculous question. "Now quick tell me which direction is the camp?"

I facepalmed and Noah hit his head from the back.

"You idiot, you have the compass and are asking us if we know the direction of the camp." Noah scolded Nathan.

"Hold on guys, follow me," Luke said looking at his watch. And we all went behind him because, unlike Nathan, Luke actually has something called a brain.

After lots of walking and changing directions, we finally found the trail we were on and if I squint then I think I could make out the light from the camp. We all laughed, cheered, and ran ahead to the camp only to find all the teachers in a panic talking to the forest police.

When they saw us they all ran to us. And to my shock Mr. Davis came pushing everyone aside and immediately clutched me spinning me around, touching me gently, and searching for any injuries. After looking satisfied that I don't have any major cut or injury he went on with checking Noah who was just behind me.

Noah froze as Mr. Davis fuzzed over him, not being used to be taken care of like that. And then the rest of my friends too were inspected under the worried eyes of Mr. Davis.

"Where were you guys? Do you know how scared we were? Just now Jackson, Lewis, and his friends came, they said they were attacked by the bear. They have cuts and bruises everywhere and even their eyes were red." Mr. Davis said hastily. "And could please anyone bring a first aid kit?" he added the last part in a loud voice.

"It's all fine Mr. Davis, we had bear spray. No bear even dared to attack us, we just got a little away from the trail." Nathan said reassuring Mr. Davis that we were all fine.

But he still sat us all down and started treating our wounds, he even shouted at Mr. Cruz to help him. Poor Mr. Cruz he looked so awkward as he tried his best to patch up Noah, both of them avoiding eye contact.

After we were all patched up, the nurse came from the wooden hut and said, " The boys are fine, all the cuts are minor and their eyes will be back to normal color in no time, it looks like some allergy in them, maybe from some tree in the forest."

We all looked at each other knowing exactly which allergic thing they encountered in the forest.

"They all seemed to be in shock though, they are not talking much about what happened and are only saying that they want to go home." the nurse finished looking sympathetic.

"Now that they know they'll get suspended, they are trying to run off home," whispered Ben with a snort.

"Poor kids, I really think we should send them early," said Mr. Davis as Ms. Wilson nodded in approval.

"Only 4 days are left for the camp, I think they can survive," said Mr. Cruz strictly.

"But they are only children," said Mr. Davis softly to Mr. Cruz. And in return, Mr. Cruz gave him a soft smile putting his hand comfortingly on his obvious crush's shoulder, and said.

"Hey, if they will stay here with their friends, I am sure they will feel great in no time. And we even have the end of the camp bonfire, they will enjoy it." his voice was so smooth and confident that even I believed him for a minute, but I shook myself in time to see Mr. Davis smile at him.

I heard a camera click behind me and was shocked as I saw Noah clicking pictures, wasn't it only Ben who behaved like paparazzi? Noah gave me a sheepish smile as he looked away.

"You all should rest too." Mr. Cruz said facing us and surprisingly, he looked like a normal human, not a super dangerous children hunter. We all stood up and followed him as he lead us to our tent, I don't know why he was leading us but we just followed him.

He opened our tent and let us all get in and unexpectedly went in too and shut off the entrance. He switched on our lamp and looked at all of us, the kind of look that said 'speak before I make you'. I gulped under his gaze as he asked us to sit comfortably.

"I know something happened on that hill, and I know you guys know what happened to those boys too." Mr. Cruz said with an icy look setting chills down my spine, even Luke looked scared. We looked at each other as Noah gave me a nod, I looked at Luke giving him a nod to go forward.

"W-we actually found them when we were climbing the hill, bu-but we heard them and they were talking about it and we recorded it. But then they saw us recording so we...." Luke explained shaking.

"You guys attacked them with pepper spray then, right? Their eyes are red and swollen," he said glaring at us.

"Umm it was not pepper spray actually..... it was... it was bear spray," Luke said hesitantly.

"WHAT???" Mr. Cruz said bewildered looking at us for a minute then he burst out laughing. His laugh brightened the tent as he started even clipping with laughter maybe he isn't as bad as we thought at least he has a good sense of humor.
