Ch18 Trapped by the Trapper

"Don't step on my foot Nathan."  whisper-shouted Luke from where he was hiding behind someone's tent.

"I still haven't gained my balance back. Ok?" whisper-shouted Nathan from behind Luke, annoyed.

"For the love of God, that was more than 24 hours ago, you are sober now." whispered Luke, super annoyed.

"But I thought you were atheist." smirked Nathan.

"I said for your love of God, not mine, doofus." whisper-shouter Luke, super-duper annoyed.

"Stop it, you two. It's time, Luke you should go first. Just take Mr. Cruz as far as you can. Ok?" I instructed Luke, who was in charge of taking Mr. Cruz somewhere away from his tent.

He had his set of questions ready with his pen and paper.

"Are you sure I should take these questions with me? These are literally assembled by Nathan, I don't even think they could be solved," said Luke miserably.

"It's none of our business if they could be solved or not, we only need him to be distracted. I am sure even if he could not solve it, he won't blame you, now hurry up." I said showing Luke out of our hiding spot. He stumbled but regained his balance and walked normally to Mr. Cruz and Mr. Davis's tent.

Getting into their tent requires distracting them and taking a hard math question was all that was needed for our mission. So we went far and wide to search for any equation that might give us at least an hour window. But even in Luke's book 'Are you the next math prodigy? Prove it could not give us any good equation.

At last, Nathan cracked his knuckles and went down to write the five most ridiculous equations I've ever seen. But they sure looked complex.

Luke went in with shaking legs and a few minutes later got out with Mr. Cruz.

"Why don't we do these questions outside on the bench? The light is not that good inside. Right?" he said hurriedly and nearly ran away with Mr. Cruz.

Now it was Nathan's turn, who took his book 'Utopia' which is quite a difficult philosophy literature to Mr. Davis. Nathan is dumb and all but when it comes to literature, I don't think anyone can debate with him.

He easily came with Mr. Davis on his toe and said something along the lines of 'beautiful environment can open the mind to see beyond our intelligence'. Mr. Davis, a little puzzled followed him.

I signaled Ben and Noah, who were hiding on the other side. We all tip-towed into the tent. And the first thing we noticed was the discrimination. Their tent is so better than ours, a first-class tent and has so much room. I wonder how we haven't noticed it from the outside. Is it some kind of magic or something, I looked around expecting some type of sparks or something. But the tent was perfectly clean and beautiful.

"Ok, so you check the right side, I'll check the left and Ben should check the sleeping bags." said Noah as we all immediately scattered.

There was a big bag on the right side, I didn't want to breach their privacy but I still flipped it open and neatly looked around it, so when I put it back it wouldn't look suspicious.

There were mostly shirts in here, lots of shirts. Striped, with geometric drawings, with boxes, custom ones and I even found one which Dr. Cruz wore that day when we followed him. There were books too, a pencil case, and many things. Oh, there is even the shirt which Mr. Davis wore when we followed them.

Wait a minute, is this luggage of Mr. Cruz or Mr. Davis? Now that I look back the books are of math and literature both. This is so suspicious, I pulled my phone out and clicked a few pictures. Just then we heard some footsteps from outside and Ben's phone chimed making us all look at each other and we immediately started relocating what we touched.

I immediately placed everything so it wouldn't look questionable, and all three of us scurried away at once through the other end of the tent and ducked out of that scary place. After getting out we ran for our lives, literally ran for our lives, and didn't stop running until we reached where our bus was parked.

We were panting like mad as Ben's phone chimed again. He pulled it out of his pocket and the remaining color of his also disappeared.

"What is it?" Noah asked panicked losing his composure.

"It's from Luke, he said...." he panted and gulped.

"What does it say?" I asked but he remained still so I snatched the phone from his hands and color drained from my face as well.

the big bold letters of Luke's message might come in my nightmares from now on. Noah came and took the device from me and read the awful words that can ruin our lives.

"Guys RUN, HIDE THEY KNOW SOMEONE BROKE INTO THEIR STUFF!!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES."
