"What do you mean we can't!" I yelled. Blue pretended to cover her ears and glared at me.
"Watch it boy. You might not, but I have a sonic scream," she hisses, dropping her hands. I slam my mouth but return her glare.
"We can't just sit here like waiting ducks!" I fight back. She looks at me and I mean really looks at me. I could see what I took to be a shallow set of light blue eyes was a deep pool of aqua that had wisps of gray swimming through it. It was so stunning that I felt my mouth fall, unable to pick it up.
I also noticed for the first time her attire. She had a light blue shirt that exposed her toned stomach, a single fingerless black glove on her right hand, and mid thigh white shorts that were slightly fringed at the bottom.
"We aren't just going to wait here like ducks, but we can't stand here like cacti," she says dryly, her magnificent eyes narrowing. I finally manage to regain control over my jaw, and snap it shut.
"Yeah, let's go," I start towards the west and after a moment I feel someone grab me and turn me to the east.
"This way, boy genius," she sighs and releases me, walking towards the sun. I glance around and tried across the sand after her.
After a while of silence i decide nows as good as any for questioning. "So you were project 007?" I ask, glancing at her arm where i see the number bar tattoo. Me and my brothers had ones too, but we hid ours. These girls seemed to show it off like it was some sort of scar. It probably was to them.
"That's the technical turn, but the we prefer project PowerPuff," she shrugs, swishing away a stray strand of golden hair.
"Why did you leave?" I ask quietly, my voice sensitive to her. She looked towards the distance for a vacant moment and it was silent. It was a comfortable silence, not an awkward one.
"Professor-er-Mojo began to see us as a weapon, not peacemakers. We left for the sake of the people, not our own emotions," She says finally, still staring at the distance. I nod but didn't say anything else. "I know you're having a hard time accepting this, and you don't have to totally. It's ok to be confused."
"I'm not confused, not really. But i do have one question," i paused to make sure it was ok to ask. Once Blue gave me a small nod i continued. "Why is it a big deal if Mojo made us?"
"After the accident Mojo only thought of recreating his nuclear weapon. Us. He used the leftover chemicals, the ones we were trying to get, and made you boys. His intention was to make another weapon, and from the looks of you boys he did a good job. Physically at least," Blue sighed and looked down to the golden sand.
"For my brothers, mentally as well," I sigh. Blue looks slightly troubled at this.
"Have your brothers ever said anything about having destructive dreams?" Blue asks cautiously. I shrug.
"My brothers barely even tell me when they're going to sleep." That troubled Blue even more.
"Boomer, if your brothers are having destructive dreams it means they're already one step closer to becoming a weapon," Blue warns.
"But my brothers don't want to hurt anyone. Why would they?" I ask.
"They don't have a choice. There was a chemical that Mojo mixed with ours. It makes you become destructive. If we don't find your brothers in time i think we may have a problem," Blue says, turning fully to me. I look at her and my eyes grow wide.
Oh crap.
