I was hovering in place waiting for the humans, or the dragon-human person to change their mind about this creature, and give me the go ahead to take it's head off like I had done so many other times to the Nomu's that I had to fight. That had thin enough necks to be killed in one strike anyways, but either way it was fine, one strike or two was all I needed to end a fight with them usually.

"01 come back over here, he means no harm" Fixing human, or as he said his name was, Alex said and I walked over there and stood next to the dragon-human that had brought all of that yummy nice smelling stuff. The last part hurt my throat a little bit, but it still smelled like food, so it must've been food, right?

Anyways as soon as I stopped they all had looked around in confusion, all I did was walk over to you. Why are you looking around? I looked around and into the sky to try and find what they were looking for before looking back at them in confusion.

"How? What? Where? How-" the bird creature said looking at me and then everyone else in confusion and Big man, named Arlington, seemed to make a strange upwards motion with his shoulders.

"I'm still trying to get used his speed power or whatever that it as well" he said looking at me strangely and I looked at him even more confused.

"Sorry about that Falcon" Alex said and I looked at the bird man once again to see it looking at me with fear, "but then again you shouldn't have been spying on us in the first place."

"S-sorry ab-about that" it said and I looked at the ground and scratched my claws against the strange material that made up this part of the ground, I felt like something on my back was broken and didn't mind them talking, or the fact that the black liquid from inside of me was now gathering around my claws. Then I saw darkness.

When I woke up I was on some sort of white light cloth and I felt a restriction against my back, so I looked around and saw that there was more white fabric wrapped around my back and wings. I didn't like how it felt and was about to use my claws to cut off the fabric before a human hand grabbed my paw.

I looked up to it's source and saw that Alex was looking at me with an expression I knew well, it was usually something that the Big Black humans had when they were dragging me back to the humming bed that filled my body with fire all over.

"Don't do that, you broke your wing and a few legs in your fall" he said and I set my leg down and looked under me to see that my back legs had a sort of shell around them, as well as my other paw that, unlike the one I tried to use, couldn't move.

"Why didn't you say anything about your broken legs and wings?" Alex said and I looked at him again confused, "we helped you before with your broken ribs that were puncturing your lungs and heart, so why didn't you tell us about your wing?"

"Master made body burn more when I tell about burning in my body" I said poking at the fabric I was on only to see that my claw had gone through it, so I dragged towards me to see what was inside and pulled out this strange, big, fluffy thing that looked like a small not prey small fluffy white thing from that one place.

"You are no longer under your Master's hold, so tell us about when your body burns and where okay" Alex said but I just kept on slicing at the fluffy filled white thing I was put on. I wanted off of this fluffy white thing, I didn't like it anymore, but when I stepped off I felt nothing underneath my free paw and I felt a hand wrap around my tail, but I was already falling down and I heard a loud snap before my world went dark again.

I woke up again to see that I was on a different fluffy white thing in the air, but there were these things on the sides of it keeping me from going over the edge, and I couldn't move my neck anymore either. I didn't have anything to do, so I started to cut at the up and down metal bars on the sides of the bed, and it seemed like the sun was down again, suddenly the metal thing fell to the ground. Making a loud noise in the process, causing another different noise to sound on the opposite side of me.

Alex was sleeping in a chair next to 01 when all the sudden there was a large crash from inside of the room, causing Alex to wake up immediately and go into defensive mode. Which didn't go away as he saw that 01 had cut off the guard rail to the bed and was trying to get off again, why didn't it like the bed? Was the fabric of the bed not comfortable for it?

He snapped out of his thoughts and quickly went around to grab it's chest and side and put it back on the bed, where it squirmed for a little while before going to sleep again.

Sorry I didn't think that you wouldn't like the fabric on the bed, but I can't have you snap your neck again trying to get to the floor, and I also can't use my powers to heal you because your bones need to heal by themselves. Alex thought stepping back and looking at the broken piece of the guardrail on the ground.

He picked it up and saw that there were perfect cut marks made through the metal and he looked at the sleeping dragon and scoffed. Did this creature really just cut through iron bars like they were nothing?

01 woke back up around an hour later, and saw that it was still dark out, but the moon was starting to disappear underneath the windowsill.

It felt that it's limbs were fine and the first thing it did was use its strength to break off the casts that had been put on its legs and then I cut off the bandages around is body and wings and cut a little section in the neck cast before breaking that too with its strength.

01 hopped to the floor and stretched for a second before sitting down and watching Alex sleep. It was a little surprising that he hadn't heard all of the noise made by breaking the casts but it didn't really matter to 01 as it was no longer tired, so after a bit of watching the human sleep it started to get bored.

The next few hours consisted of it going around to different things and either cutting or biting them in curiosity. Nothing tasted like food though and the fluffy thing that was attached to the bed had been ripped apart and dragged off of the table.

01 looked at the metal table for a second before looking under it and seeing that there wasn't a machine underneath making noise. It cautiously stepped up onto the table and after a while of nothing happening the little dragon decided to lay down again. Sadly it wouldn't be able to sleep though as it wasn't tired as it had already done everything it wanted to. Destroyed the fluffy thing, and making sure that the table wasn't connected to a machine.

Finally Alex started to stir and when he opened his eyes to see 01's face almost a foot away from his he immediately fell out of his chair from surprise.

"You know others don't like it when your in their face when they wake up" Alex said rubbing his head.

"I wasn't in your face" 01 replied, "I was a tongue length's away" Alex facepalmed, he was going to have a lot of trouble taking care of this creature.

"Well either way don't do that again" Alex said and then noticed that the casts weren't on 01's body anymore. "Where are your bandages and casts?" He asked causing 01 to look around before picking one of the foot casts from the ground with its tail and passing it to its claws to hold out towards Alex.

"White things were annoying" 01 replied tearing the foot cast in two once again, "so I took them off"

"You shouldn't have done that either, you don't know if your healed fully or not" Alex groaned and 01 tilted it's head at him.

"But I don't feel burning inside anymore" it said and Alex just sighed.

"Well the burning inside is what we call pain" Alex said and 01 tilted its head again.

"Pain?" It flexed it's claws before suddenly cutting a long thin line on the opposite leg that was lifted and felt the burning in that area. It wasn't as bad as the burning all over from the machine, but it was still little burning inside. "Pain" it said once again.

"Yes, that feeling you are getting from that cut is called pain" Alex said resisting the urge to grab 01's arm and heal the cut. How it could injure itself so easily was bothersome and slightly awing to Alex.

The wound started to glow for a second before sealing shut on its own, and Alex wasn't the one that healed the cut, he had to be touching the afflicted in order to heal them and even then sometimes even his powers weren't enough.

The wound was healed without leaving a scar or a single trace of the wound, it's healing power was phenomenal in Alex's eyes.

"Why didn't you use that power to heal your broken bones and bruises?" Alex shed and 01 looked at him, and then at it's healed leg before shrinking back towards the edge of the table. Of which Alex just noticed didn't have its padding anymore, of which was lying on the floor on the other side of the bed.

"Master only let me heal things like these" 01 cut its arm again and let it bleed for a moment on the metal. It's black blood looked like thick tar without the burning quality as the metal it was stepping on wasn't melting and the blood itself didn't look hot enough to burn.

"Why" Alex asked again as 01 healed the cut it made.

"He says it was dirty and was straining his shoes" 01 said, "what does stain mean and what are shoes?"

"Well a stain is when a liquid or semi-liquid soaks into something else and becomes apart of it, making it almost impossible to get out without harming or damaging the thing that is stained." Alex said and 01 looked at the flowing blood as it steadily crawled towards the edge of the table.

"01, I want to ask something" Alex said, "who is your master?" 01's eyes widened and it shrank back to the opposite side of the table, accidentally falling off before opening its head over the edge.

"You want to take me back?" It asked and Alex was filled with guilt.

Maybe I should've have asked or anything about that until it was more stable. He thought but shook his head, "no I don't want to bring you back, your master will never have you again. I promise"

"What's a promise?" 01 asked and Alex smiled as the creature lifted its head up a little more so that it's neck was now above the metal.

"A promise is something a person makes to another as something that will never be broken or destroyed. It's something a person should keep in mind when making decisions and when making them, because if it's something that they cannot provide then they shouldn't make the promise" Alex said and 01 tilted its head at him, "I made the promise that I would protect you from your master and I will keep that promise till I die"

"Why do you want to know who my master is then?" 01 asked and Alex smiled cautiously.

"So that we know who to look out for or go after if we are able to and capture them" he said and 01 shivered at the memory of the man that caused him so much pain.

"Master said to never say his name, never, in any way" 01 said, "he always knew when I said it, and the pain he gave was worse than the bright cracking sticks the Big Black's held."

"Big Blacks?" Alex was confused now.

"They were the ones the took me to kill Nomu's, brought me to the pain room, and The Bed"

"What was The Bed?" Alex asked partially not wanting to know the answer.

"This" 01 said scratching the metal of the bed with its claw, "but there was a loud machine underneath that gave pain and crackled every time I was told to sleep"

So that's why it looked like that when it got onto the metal Alex thought and then brainstormed about ways he could get his master's info without having the dragon tell him their name or characteristics.

"If I showed you pictures of people would you be able to recognize your master from them?" Alex asked and 01 thought about it for a second before nodding. It wasn't saying masters name, so it was okay for it to point out a picture, assuming Alex could even find one.

(Sorry about this being my first published book of the new year, hopefully I'm not gonna be bombarded with worry and other crap like that when I go to college soon. Anyways I hope you had a Happy New Year. I hope you enjoyed, and there is plenty more to come)
