PRESENT DAY
-YEAR 2197

"Maya, Maya". A voice. I'm awake, I'm awake", Maya says. Her best friend, Hyacinth, grabs her hand and pulls her off the chair she sat on. "I don't get why I have to do such hard work while you get to lay back and have sweet dreams. Come on, what were you dreaming about", Hyacinth said. "Well, Hyacinth if remembering my painful 'childhood ' is a sweet dream, then yeah, I loved it". Maya said sarcastically. "Whatever, we're in the citadel anyway. No ones origin story is sweet. I remember mine every waking moment. My dad killed my mum and sold off my brother and I at just five years old. My dad took the money and ran off . Well, fast forward twelve years from then, I'm seventeen, just like you". Hyacinth says. "Where's your brother anyway, Cinth". "Probably with that ark thing, which is our exact destination. I know your dying to see my brother, because you have a crush on him, gross". "No I don't", says Maya. "You're right, Alex likes you. Sure, I get it." Hyacinth says. She continues. "We're here. Hey Mai, don't think about your past that much. Like I always say, we live in the present, not the past."

Alex looks at Maya and smiles which makes Maya smile back. Hyacinth rolled her eyes and left. She goes to The HUB.
THE HUB: A shadowy organization set up by the members of the White Lotus. They are in charge of the command and control of the citadel and ark.

"Alex, hey- uh- what's up. how's everything going? what's up? shit, I've said that before. Hey". Maya says as she realizes that she has failed to casually smoothen things with Alex. "Maya you're really funny. Um, so how do you do?" "I wasn't trying to be funny", she thought to herself. Maya tried to bring up a reasonable conversation but didn't know what to say. before she could say anything, she saw Hyacinth coming there way with a worried look on her face. "Cinth, is anything wrong? You don't look good", the concerned Maya asked totally forgetting that Alex was right in front of her. " what? No-n-n-n-no. It's nothing. I have to go." Hyacinth was about leaving right before Maya grabs her arm. "what do you mean you have to go, you dragged me all the way here and now you want to go. What's going on Cin-".Maya was interrupted by Alex. "Hyacinth, just talk already, nothing's going to happen". "Why don't the two of you just leave me alone, after all, I'm not the chosen one". Hyacinth immediately stares at Maya and leaves. "Chosen one", Maya remembered the very words she was told ten years ago.

Flashback- 2187
"You, state your name, place of origin, father, mother, siblings or any other relation you can remembered." A voice spoke to her. "I-I-I'm Mai, Maya and I'm from Neliope. My father and mother and brother are dead.'' Maya said as she was as stiff and almost lifeless. "is she an imbisile", another harsher voice spoke to her. "if she can't understand simple, she might as well be sent to be beheaded. We had no idea of her town folks anyway." "High chief Lotus says she is the chosen one, for she is... immortal", the familiar voice she had heard at her nuked town spoke once more. "She is the chosen one and she will save..."

                 "Maya, Mai, are you listening?" Alex brought Maya back from her trance. "What um, yeah." Maya muttered. "As I was saying, I just don't get the point of this ark, if it had been here for over three centuries..." Alex said. "Yeah, um Alex, I think I'll talk to you later. I need to check something." Maya said and ran off. as she went, she heard Maureen and Clarice gossiping about Hyacinth. Maureen and Clarice are typically the mean girl duo.

                           "Cinth, what is wrong with you?" Maya asked Hyacinth who was trying her best to open the window. "I'm mot like you, Mai. I'm not a perfect girl. I'm meant to tell you something, but I won't, 'cuz it's not gonna make me feel good. Rather, worse." Hyacinth said. "What are you saying? Is it important." "Maybe two you, but irrelevant to me". "So why not tell me, why-". "MAI!!! it really doesn't always have to be about you." Hyacinth shouted on top of her voice. "I don't know what's going on. 'I'm always making things about me'. You just said there was something very relevant to me and suddenly, it's all about me." "Maya, I'm not chosen one. I would give anything to have what you have." "you would give anything. you'll give up your mother, your father, your brother and your whole country just to be some stupid chosen title. Ever since I came here, 10 years ago, all I've ever been told is that I'm the stupid chosen one and I didn't ask for it I did anything to have my life back, not like I have anything to give. You act like it's my fault but it's just life. The HUB, is it about that cuz you started acting like this cuz you went there I don't get it, Cinth." "whatever, forget it, it's fine. let's just forget any of this happened", Hyacinth said as she put on a fake smile". Maya was extremely confused.

ONE YEAR LATER
         Humanity was drawing nearer to extinction. Wars, climatic occurrences and pandemic had made the once peaceful citadel where Maya and her friends once  lived not so happily, a living hell. "Cinth, Cinth, where are you?" Maya screamed, looking for Hyacinth in the huge crowd rampaging in the citadel. This was the end for humanity. "Mai, Mai, come" Alex said as he grabbed her hand "where have you been? We've been looking for you. Come on." "Alex where are we going and where is Hyacinth?"    "she's in the ark that's where we're going, okay, we're going to be saved"

FLASHBACK
"...and help humanity from total destruction. She'll join us. She'll agreed when the time's right. No doubt about it. Now, Maya, that is your name right." Another less harsh voice spoke to her. Yes my name is Maya, my mother is Marc- Marceline Croix Lefrise a-and my dad is Anthony Jeremy Lefrise a-". Shy, little Maya was interrupted by the harsher voice from earlier. "did you just say Croix, do you know the name of your mother's mother." "I never got to see her, so I don't know her name."
          "Maya, get inside the ark." Alex shouted and Maya remembered she was at.The shio looked more humongous than it usually did. Soon after, the ship started moving and those who were not able to get in your left behind. Then immediately, the citadel was blown up and a human's head blasted into the ship. "Bernard noooo", a woman screamed. The man was her husband. "There will be no screaming aboard this ship." A man in a black suit with a black shirt, white tie and black gloves came in to where the crowd was. He took the human's head by the ear and tossed it into the water. "Noooo", the woman screamed and ran towards the edge of the ship to see where the head had landed. "well, if you want to see him that much, you can as well join him." The man immediately kicked her into the sea. "Mommy, Mommy", the woman's soon came running. "well, I see you guys will be having a family reunion under the sea".the man grabbed the boy of 6 years old and dropped him in the ocean. There was immediately a very huge silence throughout the ship. "That man's from the HUB, isn't he". Alex whispered into Maya's ear and immediately hushed. "He probably is, but I've never seen a member of the HUB out in the public." Maya replied to him. "there shall be no form of screaming or crying in this ship. There will be rules which will be shown in each person's room. I have counted every single person in this room there's a total of 680 persons in this ship." The man continued. There was a large wave of murmuring that eventually began. "SILENCE". The man said. "Five persons shall be assigned to a room. I assure you that the rooms are spacious enough with private bathrooms for each person. Now, I may not know all your names to remember, but I'll try my best. I shall randomly assign each person in the rooms." The man stopped by a lady who has her hand up, signifying a question. "Sir, pardon my interruption, but what is going to happen to our children." The woman said, pushing her little girl to the front. "Well then, I guess it was a wrong time for you to have children. What were you thinking? Also, no questions are tolerated. This ark has been around for over five centuries on water and was kept safely in the citadel when the time was safe, until present day. Now, I can confidently say that there will be no need for questions. Your child will be alright in any room it will be assigned to. Now, no further questions asked.  I shall begin to call your names and assign you to your rooms. Henry Hogwart, Elaine Crossberry, Jackson Stewart, Amanda Brookes, Janette Sharpē to room 101..." What! There's that much room on this ship. I wonder where room one is." Alex said. "...Room 202 to Alex Hastings, Hyacinth Hastings, Maureen Derek, Clarice Draublé and Maya C-Cro. (Coughs). Pardon me. Maya Croix..." The man from the HUB continued. "Croix, is that your last name?" Alex asked. "Well, it's my mother's name."  Maya replied. "We should probably go to our rooms and look for Hyacinth." Alex said.

FLASHBACK
"she is a direct descendants of Lady Croix, she is the chosen one." The once harsh voice that spoke to Maya had suddenly calmed down.
"Maya, I apologize for my tone earlier." "T-tone" Maya was stiff as a block as she held back her tears, remembering the horrible image of her family that stuck in her head. "He means his voice. He was mean, wasn't he. He's sorry." A nicer voice elaborated the meaning for her. She began to see the room a lot clearer than before. On the walls and floors and ceilings, were encrypted symbols which she couldn't understand. There was also an image she could see. "little girl, you're going to live here and I promise you, nothing is going to happen to you. I can proudly say that. Now, wipe your tears and come with me"

Hey guys, how are you liking the story. I know you're probably already thinking that Hyacinth is such a bitch, well I started feeling the same way. Well she'll get even worse and annoy you a lot. Also, I may be inconsistent in writing this book because, typing is annoying and I have another book in progress. Do follow and if you really want me to publish the next part as soon as possible tell me, so I'll focus on it
Anyhoo, question for the time being: what do you feel about Alex and Maya and what do you think Hyacinth is hiding from Mai😁😁
        Well IDK if I'm meant to do this cuz I don't see the need but...
