[ Bae Jinyoung ]
"Bae Jinyoung!" The sound of someone calling his name made him turn around.
Bae Jinyoung had been walking to his school's cafeteria to buy bread.
He turned to see a girl who was in his year but in the school's special class. The school's special class had only seven people in it, the students in the class being one of the smartest students in their school, receiving over 1000 and higher in all subjects of their national exams.
[Name] had never seen herself as a smart girl, so when she had been put in the special class, she was surprised and scared.
The two had never talked for over two words before. Jinyoung's mouth opened ajar a bit, confused as to why she had suddenly called his name.
"You dropped your 2000 won." [Name] smiled politely and ran up to Jinyoung who was a few feet from her.
"Ah, oh, thanks."
"No problem."
As [Name] turned to walk away, Jinyoung had grabbed hold of her wrist so suddenly her body jerked back and she tripped on invisible air. Luckily, Jinyoung was there to catch her.
Jinyoung didn't know why he had grabbed hold of her wrist either. People from other classes had started noticing them and poked their heads out of their class windows to look.
"Um, Bae Jinyoung, people are watching?"
"Jinyoung."
"What?"
"Call me, Jinyoung."
"Uh, okay? Jinyoung, people are watching. Why'd you pull me back though?"
"I... uh..." Jinyoung's stare averted from her feet to the windows, avoiding her eyes.
"You? You what?" [Name] was confused and curious. She had rarely seen the boy talk to any girls except his manager and teacher.
"I just thought we'd be really good friends." He blurted out, making [Name] raise her eyebrows and give him a small smile.
"What I mean is, let's be friends?" Jinyoung didn't know what had got into him as his heart pounded against his chest.
[Name] laughed and gave him her famous eye smile that was a hot topic in school for the boys. She was one of the popular gems in her school, being the representative of the special classes and the school's model. Not only was she one of the prettiest girls in the school, but she was also smart and funny.
"Sure, I have to go now though. So see you around?" Jinyoung quickly nodded as he felt his heart burst with joy so suddenly.
"Um, Jinyoung?"
"Yeah?" Jinyoung was staring into her eyes now with a cute shy smile on his face.
"You can let go of me now." Jinyoung quickly pulled his hands that were on her hands and waist away and bowed slightly to say sorry.
[Name] giggled and turn to wave good bye before having to go to a student council meeting.
"Wait, [Name]!" [Name] stopped to turn and look at the boy who had made her heart skip a beat when he called her name.
"Are you free afterschool? I failed my math test earlier today, I need a tutor." Bae Jinyoung, who shouted across the hallway, gave her a shy yet begging smile.
[Name] sighed and nodded with a smile.
"I'll wait for you in front of your class later!" Jinyoung shouted, giving her a cute smile, waved, and ran to his class.
"Why did he ask that so suddenly.." [Name] sighed as she rubbed her face with her hands to hide her blush.
"I'm going crazy!" [Name] whispered to herself angrily.
It was only until after class [Name] had realized Bae Jinyoung was 100% serious about failing math.
"So you just have to factorize x and p?" Jinyoung smiled nervously as [Name] tapped her pencil on the table nervously and laughed.
"Yes. You don't suck at math, Bae Jinyoung, you probably just don't pay attention in class." [Name] smiled at him. Bae Jinyoung laughed sheepishly and scratched his neck.
As he finished the last problem of his homework up, he turned to look at [Name] who was staring outside the cafe window, eyes slowly getting droopy. Jinyoung looked at his watch and realized that it was already six thirty and they had been there for over three hours.
Jinyoung couldn't help but smile at the girl's whose eyes were already closed, her body swaying around. He was careful to not make her fall off the high chair and grabbed her head to lay on his shoulder.
[Name] who was fast asleep had no idea what had happened, while Bae Jinyoung was blushing like crazy.
It was around fifteen minutes later when she started to wake up that she realized Bae Jinyoung's head had fallen asleep on top of hers.
[Name]'s eyes widened as she slowly lifted her head off his and shook him lightly to wake him up.
"Bae Jinyoung... Bae Jinyoung it's almost seven, wake up." [Name] whispered, shaking him lightly. Jinyoung's eyes fluttered open as he stretched his body around.
"Good morning, sunshine." He smiled as [Name] rubbed her sleepy eyes. She laughed.
"Maybe you should say that to your girlfriend, not me." [Name] smiled and slowly packed her stuff.
Bae Jinyoung looked at her, confused.
"Oh. You thought I had a girlfriend?"
"Hm? Isn't Jeon Yona your girlfriend?"
"The one in your special class?"
[Name] nodded.
"She went around telling everyone you guys were dating last month?"
Jinyoung snorted and smiled.
"I've never even talked to her. Besides, the girl I like is now closer to me than I'd ever imagine." Bae Jinyoung winked at [Name], making her snort and laugh.
"Wink at the girl you like, not me. I'll see you tomorrow." [Name] said, before waving and leaving the cafe.
Jinyoung scurried to pack his stuff and run after her.
"But you don't realize I'm starting to like you..." He complained quietly as she ran after the small figure in front of him.
He panted as he reached her side, [Name] eyeing him weirdly.
"Bae Jinyoung?"
"I told you to call me Jinyoung." He chuckled.
"Fine. Jinyoung, why are you following me?" [Name] sighed and smiled softly at him.
"Because I want to walk you home."
"You want to? Not need to because I'm a girl?"
"I want to." Jinyoung smirked as he realized he had made the girl blush.
They both walked home in silence, shoulders bumping at times, small eye contacts that made both of their hearts skip a beat.
And they wished that this moment would last forever.
