#2: Roleplay

ROLEPLAY
Yawn...

Okay, this one is pretty simple and it's okay if you struggle a bit with it because I do, too. Sometimes you just can't seem to make a roleplay interesting, or maybe it's just boring from the start. Maybe, in your head, it's intriguing but now that you're acting it out you realize it's a bit boring.

Here's my advice: if you realize that the roleplay is boring, maybe even boring to the point where the other person doesn't reply, either do something about it or stop roleplaying that specific scenario. I'm sorry, it's just that I hate to see one-word replies and boring roleplays.

This problem mostly stems from those “Instagram” books. It's like low-key an individual roleplay book. I've seen some role plays in some books and some are interesting while others are the most boring things ever. For example:

He freed her.
She thanked him.
Your welcome.

That's it? That's all there is to it? And why isn't there some... Some epic journey where he fights his way into the castle, knocking down the guards with his epic swordsmanship/magic power and then finally, he reaches his way into her cell and bangs her cuffs against the wall, breaking the fragile metal, and now they have to find a way out?

Okay, yeah, that does sound interesting but probably better in a movie... Either way, if you're having trouble making the story interesting I'd say either start over, do something else, or add some things to make it less uneventful.

Anyway, thanks for reading!!!
