last night i decided to stay awake (again) and read fanfiction

i came to one of the best cardverse fanfics ever

its an au in the au where Alfred doesn't end up as the King of Spades, he becomes this "Wild Card" instead

this fanfiction is beautiful written out, the plot is just fantastic, and the author was able to use nation names as some kind of ranking. It's so cool.

trust me on this. ive never been through a single cardverse fanfic without romance

yes, i wanted FrUk, but i dont care. at least no USUk in this as well.

It will show the troubles and great things Arthur and Alfred shared during the story, but iven't seen any flirting with each other, commenting on looks and all. The only time Arthur blushed is when he was commented by Alfred that he was smart. That was only friendly, because basically around the beginning, Arthur captured Alfred, believing he was the Jack of Hearts.

I love how the author carefully put into thought of this Wild Card. It's fascinating, really. I feel like he or she (leaning towards she) had researched and attempted to write a different rank all on his/her own.

Alfred, as a the only Wild Card in the fanfiction, can change the tattoos that mark what kingdom you belong. He basically belongs to no one; Wild Cards don't have a tattoo. He can choose what kingdom he will belong to if he wants to. He's basically all powerful.
