I was reading a BBS fanfiction that includes this "quadrants" this from Homestuck, and I was quite interested with the concept of quadrants

So it's based of the suits of cards: Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, and Spades.

I'll give y'all a brief overview of the quadrants

Quadrants are a complicated system of four types of romance. Rather than just a mix of different emotions in one relationship, they're all separate and usually very distinct to tell

Matespritship (Hearts) - the flushed quadrant. It's basically two people in a romantic relationship. It's fluffy and all that shit. You can say that you're "red" to your red partner.

Moirallegiance, (Diamonds) - the pale quadrant. It's basically two people in an emotional bond together, making sure the others safe and all, aka your best friend. You can say that you're "pale" to your pale partner. You can also say two people are moirails.

Auspisticism (Clubs) - the ashen quadrant. It's basically one person helping to deal with two people who are fighting. You can say you're going to be an auspistice to two people to keep their relationship stable. Usually, an auspistice is found to help out a black relationship if it gets a bit unstable. Auspistices can be found to help reds and pales as well.

Kismesissitude (Spades) - the caliginous quadrant. It's basically your romantic rival, fighting over dominance when kissing for example or having a mutual tension between, aka, "I fucking love you, you piece of shit." You can say you're "black" to you black partner.

And then theres vacilliations. It's basically you can switch back and forth quadrants, and it's pretty natural to do so.

You can also be, for example, red for one person and black for another. There's not a lot of jealousy, just more of false interpretation, such as Person A who's red/black for Person B gets jealous of how Person C acts towards Person B and thinking Person C is red for Person B when Person B and Person C are pale for each other.

Slightly complicated, yeah. I had to reread it a couple of times before I understood it.

Now I want to put that in hetaships cause why not? I just want to see quadrants if it was actually real
