Chapter 26: Hidden From Me

I felt something cold falling on my face. I tried to block it with my hand but somebody caught my hand. The water slowly started to enter my ears.

"What the hell?", I yelled as I saw a pair of amber eyes staring at me. I pushed the woman's hovering body from above me and quickly sat up. The amber eyes were still staring at me. I placed my hands on my chest as I tried to breathe. Who the hell is she?

I looked around. I am still in the car. The woman was sitting beside me, staring at me. Her intense stare sent shivers through my body. I tried my best to stare back at her with the same intensity but I knew I couldn't do it for long.

" Who are you", I asked in a hoarse voice as I tried to catch my breath

Still staring at me, she slightly tilted her head to the right and smiled.

" Hello Isabella, I am glad you woke up because we have so many things to talk about".

She knows my name! But how? What does she want to talk about? I couldn't help but feel scared about whatever this is. I couldn't hide it.

" Who the hell are you", I repeated my question. I don't know what else to ask without knowing what is happening. I couldn't hold my courage for long.

" Well you may call me Katherine. Let me get straight to the point. We can have a good conversation if you cooperate with me but, if you don't cooperate then things won't go well". She held no emotion m her eyes making her even more scary. I couldn't look into her eyes so I looked down.

I was terrified. I didn't know who she was or what she wanted. What type of cooperation is she expecting from me?

Is she with Alex? What does he want?

" What do you want", I asked as harshly as I could.

" Well, I was informed about something that happened with you a few days ago".

I looked up to stare at her. Did she know? But how? Is she with them?

" And the person that is involved interests me. So tell me, Isabella, Tell me everything you heard and saw". I didn't realize until now how close her face was to mine. I tried to move back but there was no space.

I am in a car! I can get out. I tried to find the lock behind me. I got my hands on it and I tried to open the door

Locked! Oh my god, what do I do?

She looked amused now.

" Did you think I wouldn't lock the door". She chuckled. This is terrifying. Let this be a bad dream. Please.

" Well, you seemed terrified of me. Maybe this will help you relax a bit", she said. She quickly reached into her pocket and took out her phone. She dialed a number and placed the phone on her ear.

" Hello.....Yeah come inside.... okay".

Who is she talking to? What the heck is happening?

I was trapped inside this car with this woman who I didn't know anything about. I was just going to Ella's house...

Ella? Oh my god! I totally forgot about her. Where is she? Is she alright? Did this woman hurt her? I started panicking. She is my best friend and if something happens to her I won't leave this woman

" Where is Ella", I questioned.

This time I directly looked into her eyes. I felt no fear. Anger was building inside me..The thought of someone hurting Ella made me furious.

" You will see", she replied nonchalantly

What? What is happening?

Suddenly the door opened and a girl got in.

" You", I asked in disbelief as the girl turned her face to look at Katherine.
" Where were you? Are you okay? Do you know what is happening?"

"Ella, she seemed to be very fond of you", Katherine chuckled after a moment of deadly silence

How does she know Ella? What the hell is happening?

I just started at her. I was confused, angry, and disappointed at the same time.

Ella didn't look at me. She was looking at Katherine. She didn't say anything. That made it clear that she knew her too and she had something to do with me being here

" So Isabella now your friend is here so let's talk. You may have many questions about what is happening if I am right?".

I ignored her question and kept my eyes on Ella. Ella slowly turned her head to look at me. She looked at me I could see the regret in her eyes. So she was in it with Katherine. I couldn't believe it. I trusted her and she betrayed me.

But why? Why would she tell those things to a stranger?

" Isabella please forgive me but I did this to help you. Please listen to Kat".I could hear the desperation in her voice. Her face was filled with regret but I cannot trust her.

I don't know what to do. Who should I trust? What the hell is happening?

I didn't know what to say.

" Without wasting any time, let me get to the point. Isabella, we are not here to hurt you. Ella told me about the kidnapping and everything else and insisted on me helping you".

Help me? But Why? How?

I slowly looked at her confused. Things are getting more weird and I feel like my world is spinning. I placed my hands between my hands and closed my eyes.

" I want some fresh air. Just please let me out", I whispered.

I could hear them whispering to each other.

" Okay but if you try to escape then things won't go great", I heard Katherine's voice.

I nodded my head.

Well, if what she says is true then, I don't need to be scared of them. I just don't understand what is happening. Is Ella a bad person?

The car started moving but I didn't care. I tried to relax by taking deep breaths. All these thoughts were making my head feel heavy. Suddenly the car stopped. I could hear the sound of waves crashing.

I felt the door open beside me. I slowly opened my eyes and slowly got out of the car. The scene in front of me took me by surprise. We were on a beach. The strong smell of salty water and the sound of crashing waves made me feel calm. The sounds of birds could be heard in the sky as they hurried home to their loved ones before the sunset. I slowly placed my feet on the soft sand.

As I stared at the beach in awe. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I snapped my face to see who it was to meet Ella's eyes. Anger rushed inside me as I removed her hand from my shoulder harshly and turned my body to face her.

I scowled at her.

" From all the people, I didn't expect this from you Elaine".

She furrowed her eyebrows in response to me using her real name. She doesn't like it and I want her to be irritated.

" Bella I know you are confused and angry but just listen to us--"

" First of all, don't call me Bella, and secondly, What is there to hear huh?. I don't understand why would you say all those things to a stranger huh? How the heck would it help me?".

"There are many things you don't know about. Now that things have changed. It's time for you to know many things that were hidden from you and the best way to do that was this so just please listen to us. Just trust your best friend".

Well, I didn't like her referring herself to my best friend after what she had done but her words intrigued me. What are these things hidden from me
