Chapter 6 (Part 4)

The night continues as the moon progresses, venturing higher and higher into the vast expanse above the earthly realm. A comet traverses the galaxy, and the stars twinkle like glowing specks of dust, illuminating the world above the land. Humming a soothing lullaby, the wind caresses the trees, causing their branches to rustle and their leaves to fall. With every step, the fallen leaves crunch, the faint sound of munching blending with the swishing grass.

Like delicate singers, the crickets stridulate, chirping throughout the dense forest. Meanwhile, frogs croak, their voices echoing across the thick atmosphere as they hop around. Sparrows nesting atop the trees tweet, their melodic calls reaching as far as the heavens' ears.

Jean proceeds down the path ahead, though no trail lies before him. Guided solely by his instincts, he marches forward and passes through trees and fallen logs. Climbing a slope and pushing through thick vines, he strides onward. As he peers at the landscape ahead, Jean spots Sierra Umbria, a long mountain range that soars above the moon, now appearing closer than ever.

Continuing his walk, Jean approaches Sierra Umbria, craning his neck to behold the peak. However, he fails to catch a glimpse of the summit. Inhaling heavily through his mouth, Jean hastens before coming to an anticipated halt. He then puts down his backpack and opens it.

Digging deeply into his backpack, Jean snatches a lantern and sets it on the ground, opening it. With a rough stick, Jean points at the unlit wick of the white candle inside the lamp and concentrates. As he focuses, his brows furrow while his teeth clench.

"Ignicius..." he muttered.

The rear of the rough stick begins to glow like the sun, emitting a faint golden shine. Then, with a flick of Jean's wrist, the glow ejects and blasts towards the wick, igniting it into flames. Upon lighting the lantern, Jean closes its lid and grabs it by the handle.

While holding the lamp, Jean stretches his arm forward and points it towards his path ahead, lighting the surroundings and extinguishing the darkness. Slowly, his hand elevates, and the lantern points towards the mountain. Jean pauses momentarily, his stance unwavering, lost in contemplation, searching for the elusive hiding place of the witch's lair. As he scans the mountain's steep surface, he finds a cave-like opening on the mountainside.

Jean squints as he carefully studies the intricate opening. Taking a decisive step forward, he walks onward and approaches the mountain, climbing a slope and leaving his backpack under a tree. As Jean gains closer to his destination, his heart races with anticipation, knowing the threat is nearby.

In the meantime, inside the dark lair, where torches flicker, Christina, the witch, reclines on her earthen throne. With her legs crossed, revealing her knees and thighs, she subtly smirks and raises her chin. She then glances at her henchman standing on the side and calls out to him.

"It is quite a delight to revel in the knowledge that Podeshire succumbs to my dark magic," Christina chuckled, her voice dripping with sinister satisfaction, as she gazed at her henchman. "I shall prolong his torment as I please. However, for now, darling, why don't you fetch me that bottle of wine, so that I may be revitalized?" she added, an ominous smirk tugging at her lips.

"Oh! Oh! Yes, Christina!" the henchman responded, snatching the bottle of wine from the table and bringing it to Christina.

Christina grasped the bottle of wine and deftly uncorked it. "Ah!" she laughed. Christina then chugs from the bottle, quenching her thirst with a sense of gratification. "Ah..." she sighed.

"What now?" the henchman asked curiously.

"What now?" Christina reiterated with a faint giggle. "Hm... what now...?" Christina placed the bottle on the floor, forgotten. "You see... I will go on with my magic," she stated. Then, with a sudden burst of energy, she slammed her hands against the throne's arms. "Then, baam! Inflict more pain upon that Podeshire, as he has given me pain throughout the years for killing my sweet, beloved twin brother... oh, Joel," said Christina.

"You're fulfilling your wish," the henchman grinned. "How nice~" he laughed, lowering his knees before Christina.

"And I, Christina Lixandria, the Lady of Hillen, shall rise with my power and avenge my precious brother, once and for all!" Christina declared, rising from her earthen throne with an unwavering pose.

"You go! You go, Christina! Hah!" the henchman cheered, praising Christina's wicked deeds.
