Chapter 1 (Part 3)
"Shall we head to our next class together?" George asked with a friendly smile.
"We're on our way there already. Come walk with us," Jean replied with a light nod.
"Splendid!" George bounced on his toes.
As the three brothers stride along the corridor, turning to the staircase, George casts a playful glance towards his eldest brother, Bertie. As George gazes at him, his eyes sparkle with a curious glint. Clearing his throat, George nudges Bertie on the arm, trying to catch his attention.
"Hey, Bertie. Our friends were looking for you earlier," George began as they marched forward. "Where were you?" he inquired.
"Oh, I was, uh... looking for a way to get inside Jean's dorm so I could steal his notes," Bertie explained with a smirk.
"Oh," George nodded, taking in his brother's playful words.
"I still need to find a way to get into Jean's dorm, though. I genuinely need his notes," Bertie whispered mischievously.
Jean grunted, casting an exasperated glare towards Bertie. "Hey, erm..." Jean gently elbowed Bertie, catching his concentration.
"Just kidding! Relax!" Bertie chuckled faintly. "I'll look for another way to pass the finals this year!"
"What way, then?" Jean queried, crossing his arms as they walked down the hallway.
Bertie released a deep, audible breath through his mouth, his gaze dropping with a tinge of surrender. "I'll study..." he said.
Meanwhile, within the grand library of the campus, students gather to study. Long wooden benches surrounding well-crafted desks fill the space within the library, offering a seat to those hungry for knowledge. The dark wooden walls enclose the space, with large arched windows lining them to allow natural sunlight to filter in. Massive chandeliers hang on the tall ceiling, providing warmth and light to the hall.
Sturdy wooden bookshelves, flooded with thick books, grace the library, creating an aisle of wisdom. Along the aisle, marble statues depicting prominent people from the past stand, looking upon the celestial stars. Streaming through a window like a clean river, the sunlight touches the wooden floor, bringing a bronze glint upon its surface. Slowly, the sunbeams travel, gently caressing the backs of the students studying on the benches.
Among the students studying on the benches, Gabriel and his lady, Scarlet, sit and read a book. Resting shoulder to shoulder, they peruse a thick tome, their eyes locked on the old, beige pages. As they finish reading, Gabriel flips the page, and they resume absorbing the book's contents.
Gabriel's skin glistens like a roasted peanut, contrasting against his alluring sapphire eyes. His dark, curly hair flows like a coiled spring, reflecting off the sunlight pouring from his back. Draped around his form is a black tailcoat that brushes against his trousers, shining like a polished obsidian. Around his slim waist is a red sash that gleams under the daylight, adding a vibrant blend to his attire.
Meanwhile, Scarlet's skin radiates the elegance of a pearl, shining brightly like the sun, accentuating her rosy lips and natural blush. Her soft, silky hair, pulled into an unruly bun, is reminiscent of a bronze coin, highlighting her jade eyes. Scarlet dons a black coat and a puffy skirt that harmonizes with the red sash around her waistline, completing her ensemble.
"Done?" Gabriel asked, glancing at Scarlet in the eyes.
"Mhm," Scarlet nodded.
As Gabriel and Scarlet finish reading, Gabriel flips the page. Then, they continue perusing the broad expanse of the sheet. Suddenly, as they read peacefully, they feel a hand grabbing them on their shoulder. Immediately, Gabriel and Scarlet turn to look at their back. And there, behind them, they see a boy named Kevin smiling at them.
"Hey, Gabriel," Kevin interrupted.
Kevin's enchanting eyes shimmer, reminiscent of wet soil. His hair, combed neatly, cascades from his head like a waterfall of ink, giving him a charming look. His skin gleams with a radiant glow, pale and smooth like the clouds in the heavens. Like Gabriel, Kevin dons his school uniform, consisting of a black tailcoat, trousers, shoes and a white waistcoat. Around his waist, a crimson sash wraps, signifying his grade level.
"Oh, Kevin!" Gabriel smiled, his eyes sparkling upon seeing Kevin.
"It's almost time for our Alchemy Class," Kevin announced. "We should head there now," he said with a smile.
"Oh, sure thing!" Gabriel responded eagerly.
Gabriel rises from the bench and positions himself before Kevin. With a decisive turn, Gabriel grasps Scarlet's palm and plants a sweet, tender kiss on her hand's back. Scarlet responds with a giggle, averting her gaze as the crimson shade on her cheeks deepens.
"I'll see you after class, my dear Scarlet," Gabriel whispered, directing his words to Scarlet.
Kevin and Gabriel wander the school halls, navigating the labyrinthine path. A crowd of students merge on their way, creating a tumultuous flood of bodies. Kevin and Gabriel traverse the corridor, their eyes taking in the sight of the lofty ceiling. Reaching their destination, Kevin and Gabriel turn to their left and enter a classroom, passing through a doorway and closing it.
Within the closed corners, a classroom brimming with potions unfurls. Wooden shelves stand on the classroom's side, filled with glass bottles and instruments, ready to be used by the students. Benches and desks line the space, providing a seating place for eager learners. Atop a wooden platform before the students, a blackboard rests alongside a teacher's table, scribbled with complex symbols and numbers.
