Cory's P.O.V

I walked into the school. My first day at Kraner High. A group of kids immediately came over to me. "Hi!" the girl greeted.

"H-hey..." I stuttered.

"Are you the new kid they've been talking about?"

"Yeah, I am."

"Well, feel free to hang with us! I'm Ashlie, and these are my friends, Uni, Jon, Nick and Adam."

"I'm Cory."

I began getting to know my new friends, and they seem really cool. It was when the bell rang that something else interesting happened. "Hey cutie," said a voice from behind me. I turned to see a pretty cute girl, her wavy brown hair flowing down to her waist and her ocean blue eyes looking into mine. She had skinny jeans that really brought out her shape and a crop top the went just above her bellybutton. "Hi?" I replied.

"Hm, I see you were admiring me."

"Ur... no I wasn't."

"You the new kid?"

"Y-yeah... I am."

"Look, I think you're pretty cute. Hit me up when you wanna hang out. Here's my number." She handed me a sticky note and walked away, leaving me blushing slighly. "You got a crush," Jon sang quietly. I slapped his arm with a glare. "Sh-shut up!"

That night, I was about to go to bed when I glanced over at my desk, seeing the sticky note that cute girl gave me. I went over and picked it up, along with my phone. I typed her number into my contacts and texted her. 'Hey so you never told me your name.'

She almost immediately texted back. 'Oh, the name's Zara.'

'Im Cory'

'So u wanna meet up?'

'Ya sure'

'Well im working tomorrow so monday?'

'What time.'

'Well skip school. Meet at park.'

'r u sure? I dont wanna build a bad reputation of myself.'

'U wont. Ill sort it out, just come on. Whats ur first class?'

'Science.'

'Omg same! Just for tomorrow, no one will notice were gone.'

'Uh... fine. But will you sort any problems.'

'Ye sure.'

'Cool'

'Mkay well sneak out of class. Mrs golieth wont notice anyway.'

'Ha okay see u then.'

'Bye cory.'

Shelby's P.O.V

"Shelby, the new boy arrived yesterday!" Ross exclaimed as I met him on our way to school.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah, he did."

"I wonder what he's like."

"Same."

We arrived at school, and we met our other two friends there, Jess and Max. "That's him over there," Ross pointed at a cute looking boy.

I blushed. "He's... cute," I said, staring at the boy. "What's his name?"

"His name's Cory. But don't get tied up in trying to get to him."

"I have to. He needs to be mine."

"We all know what happened last time you loved a guy."

TWO MONTHS AGO

"Shelby... what are you doing?" Tyler stuttered.

"Do you love me?" I asked him, the knife tight in my grip, a smile on my face.

"I-I..."

"Tyler, do you love me?"

"Well..."

"It's love me or die."

His eyes widened. "Shelby, I do love you. With all my heart. How about we run away together, and forget this moment?"

"Don't lie to me!" I grabbed his shoulder.

"Please, don't do this!"

"You're a LIAR!!" I stabbed him in the chest. His body fell to the ground, and it didn't take long for him to take his final breath. I bent down and kissed him on the cheek. "Goodbye, darling. I really did love you, but obviously you never felt the same way."

"We have to run away together."

"No, you don't. You'll only end up hurting people."

"It'll be for him though!"

"You haven't even talked to him yet!" Max rolled his eyes.

I looked away from Cory. Maybe I haven't. But that doesn't really matter, does it?

Cory's P.O.V

The next day, Zara and I met up in science. "Excuse me Mrs Golieth?" I raised my hand.

"What is it Cory?" Mrs Golieth called on me.

"Zara and I left our science books back in our lockers, can we go get them?"

Mrs Golieth narrowed her eyes before replying, "Sure, but be quick."

Zara and I stood and left the room.

We left school grounds and went to the park. There was no-one there, considering it was a work day. "The birds sound nice, don't they?" Zara smiled. I stared at her beautiful brown hair flying in the wind. The sides of my mouth curved up into a small smile. "Yeah. But the sound of your voice is better." Woah, woah, woah, I did not just say that. Not to this try-hard who wears showy clothes to get the attention of boys. "R-really? You think so?" she asked.

"You wanna get coffee?" I avoided her question.

"Yeah, sure!"

Zara and I only grew closer at the coffee shop. She started trying to flirt. It was kinda funny. "Hey... Cory?" Zara said. Before I could reply, she grabbed my hand. And so Zara and I strolled down the street, hand-in-hand. She was growing on me. I thought of her as a rude girl at first, who was self absorbed and spent all her time trying to look hot on TikTok, but... she's really nice once you get to know her. It was at around 2:50 when it happened. We were sitting on the grass together when Zara hopped in front of me, put a hand under my chin, and kissed me on the lips.

It was amazing. The best feeling ever. Zara pulled away. "Did... did you like it?" she asked.

"Yeah... I did," I said.

"You wanna do it again?"

"Sure."

And so we kissed again. Zara wrapped her arms around me, crawling into my lap. I didn't retaliate. Instead, I kissed her again.

Shelby's P.O.V

After I got home from buying bread, I saw that my friends sat there, looking at each other nervously. "What?" I asked, placing the bread on the table.

"Um... well, w-we..." Max replied.

"He kissed someone else!" Ross blurted out. He slapped his hands over his mouth.

"Huh?" I cocked my head.

"Nothing!"

"Ross, tell me, now!"

"It's not your concern."

"If it's your concern, then it's mine. What happened?"

"I..."

"WHAT HAPPENED?!" I reached for my car keys, holding the key at him.

"Z-Zara kissed Cory..."

I stared at him, lowering the keys. Zara kissed Cory? She kissed my senpai? She was gonna pay. She really was. And I was gonna make sure of it.

Cory's P.O.V

I saw a girl standing all on her own in the corner of the school yard. "Who's that?" I asked.

Zara squeezed my hand. "Oh, her?" Uni looked up from his sketchbook. "That's Shelby. The only people who have dared to talk to her are her cousin and his friends. They say she hurts people who get in the way of her crush."

"Oh..."

"Mhm! She needs to go to a mental hospital," Zara said.

"She can't be that bad."

"Oh but she is. Once, she threw a chair at a teacher. And she didn't get in trouble for it! And another time, she asked out this guy, and he rejected her. He went missing a couple days later, and hasn't been found since. It's been 2 months."

I looked to the rest of the group to check it was true, and they all nodded. I looked back to the girl to see she was staring at me. I gave a small wave, and she grinned. A red-haired boy pulled her over behind the main school building. "Guys? I think she was giving me that look."

Shelby's P.O.V

"He looked at me! HE WAVED AT ME!!" I began jumping up and down.

Max shushed me. "Shut it, Shelby," he said.

I took a deep breath. "Max, I wanna go for him."

"You aren't, and that is final. He's happy the way he is."

I rolled my eyes. The speakers let out a chime, and the secretary's voice came through, "Can Shelby Grace please report to the front office?"

I went to the office and saw a very loving face. "Dad!" I ran over and hugged my father.

"Hello dear. We need to have a chat."

We went to his office. He locked the door and we went down a hall to a basement-like room. "Cory knows about what you get up to," he sighed.

"Surely he doesn't care, he waved at me!"

"But if you kill Zara he'll immediately suspect it was you."

I clenched my fist. "Fricking Zara! Why is she still here?"

"She won't be for long. Just leave it to me. I'll sort Cory out."

"Okay. Thanks Dad." I hugged my Dad.

"What was that about?" Ross asked.

"Cory knows," I whispered.

"About you killing people?"

"Yep. But Dad has it sorted out."

"Can Cory Crater please report to the front office?" Mrs Donna, the secretary, said over the speakers. Ross and I looked at the speaker up on the roof gutter of the gym building. "Wonder if he just called Cory up then," Ross said.

"Hm, probably."

"Shelby?"

"Yeah?"

"Please just... don't kill him if he doesn't like you."

I nodded. I probably would anyway. If I couldn't have Cory, no-one could.

Cory's P.O.V

When I left te Principal's office, I felt a gap in my head. I didn't know what it was, but it felt... odd. "What was that about?" Zara asked as she grabbed my hand.

"Just a message. My Dad's late home tonight, he had a note to pass on," I replied.

"Can I see it?"

"Nosy much?" I gave Zara a friendly prod in the arm, and she giggled.

"That's me! Just gotta know! But for real, can I see it?"

I didn't know what was driving me to lie, but I continued on. "No, it's... personal. I... I'd prefer not to share it." I frowned.

"Fine. Anyway, I gotta use the restrooms. I'll be back."

Zara sashayed away. A couple girls who walked by smiled at me. One whispered to the other, who blushed. The girl who whispered winked at me and they continued on their way. "Do they know I'm taken?" I asked.

"Doubt it," Nick shrugged. "I'm surprised Zara's not spread the word on you two yet."

That's when I saw that girl. Ah... Shelby, that was her name. She was staring at me across the field. She saw me looking at her and turned to her friend, and they had a conversation. Shelby's friend rolled her eyes and walked away. "She is so into you," Ashlie shook her head.

I didn't reply. I could tell she was, but... I didn't want to believe it. Mostly because I didn't have the heart to tell her... I didn't like her back.

Shelby's P.O.V

I saw Zara walk into the restrooms. Jess tried to hold me back, to stop me from following her, but when I saw that she was on her own, I knew this would be one of my only chances. I kicked Jess off me, not even apologising as I went into the restrooms. The bell immediately rang for class. Zara walked out of a stall, and only after washing her hands did she notice me putting rubber gloves on. I grinned at her. She tried to run, but I caught her. She was scared of me. "Sh-Shelby... let me go," she stuttered. She pulled out her phone, but I snatched it off her and smashed it on the ground. "You stole my senpai," I said. "He and I belong together."

"Cory doesn't even like you."

"You're lying. You just don't want me to kill you." I whipped a knife out of my pocket. "But I'm gonna do it anyway."

"Shelby, please, you don't have to do this..."

"Oh but I do."

"Why don't you kill Ashlie? They hang out all the time!"

"Because Ashlie is just his friend. You were dating him. But if Ashlie does try anything..."

Tears were gleaming in Zara's eyes. "I don't want to die..."

I giggled. "Like that'll stop me," I whispered. "Any last words?"

"I will always love Cory..."

Those last words made me even angrier. The force that went into me stabbing Zara in the chest killed her immediately. The only issue now was the blood on my clothes.

I slipped into a stall and pulled out my phone. "Hey, Meghan?" I asked when my older sister had answered.

"Girl, why you callin' me now? I was in the middle of a class!" she hissed.

"Sorry, sorry. Can you go into my locker and get my spare change of clothes?"

"Oh, Shelby... you should start carrying them a-"

"Miss Cracera, did I not say to tell whoever is calling you to call back?" I heard Mrs Olrieno ask.

"Oh, sorry Miss, my sister's had an accident. She has a spare change of clothes in her locker and asked me to get them."

There was silence until... "Okay fine. You have five minutes, or else you get detention."

There were fast footsteps as Meghan hung up. A minute later, a school dress and a blazer slipped under the door. "There ya go," I heard Meghan say. "I'll help you tidy up here. If I explain it all to Dad, he'll give me a free pass and say I had a doctor's appointment or something."

Once I was dressed I opened the door to see Meghan hunting through the cupboard. She pulled out a mop and bucket. "Since when were they in there?" I asked.

"Since the plot wanted them to be."

"Dammit Meghan YOU BROKE THE FOURTH FLIPPIN' WALL."

Meghan ignored me and started to mop up Zara's blood. After five to ten minutes of throwing water at each other, all we had left to get rid of was the body. We picked it up and managed to sneak it to the dumpster behind the bathrooms. We tossed Zara in there, as well as my bloody clothes. They weren't getting cleaned any time soon. We quickly went back into the restrooms so that I could wash my knife, and then we started back towards the main building. "Did you enjoy getting Zara's blood all over you?" Meghan smiled.

"I forgot how good it feels. The feeling of knowing that she can't get her hands on senpai anymore."

Cory's P.O.V

At lunch, I waited around for Zara. When it was about ten minutes, I began getting a bit frustrated. I tried calling her phone, but I got nothing. I asked around, but no-one knew where she was. It may have been a little extra, but I ended up asking the front desk. "Mrs Donna, have you seem Zara Friners?" I asked.

"No, unfortunately not, deary." She called Zara to the office, but Zara never came.

I sighed and walked away. I bumped into Uni as I exited the building. "Oh, Cory, I've been looking for you," he said.

"And I've been looking for Zara," I said.

"About that... come with me."

Uni led me over behind the restrooms. There was a dumpster. My friends were leaning against it, looking really worried. "Cory," Jon said, "please don't get too upset over this, but... look."

He opened the lid as I walked over, and... there was her body.

"Wh-what... who would've..." My lip began quivering.

"Shelby would've," Adam said. "She has a giant crush on you and is horrible at hiding it."

"No, she wouldn't kill my girlfriend..."

"That girl's very bizarre."

I refused to believe a girl I never even knew would kill Zara. I turned and stalked away. I sat against a tree and put my head in my hands. It wasn't long before I felt a hand on my shoulder and a soft, "Are you okay?"

I lifted my head to see a fairly tall girl. She had glasses and a soft face. She was extremely pale with long blonde hair, and chocolate brown eyes. "M-my girlfriend... I... she's dead..." I spluttered.

"Oh... I'm so sorry..." the girl said.

"We were only dating for like a week but we were so in love..."

She hugged me. It felt so warm, so loving. "Wh-who are you?" I asked as she pulled away.

"Bella. What's your name?"

"I-I'm Cory."

"Hm, I like that name."

"You... you wanna hang out?"

Bella's pale face blushed red. "S-sure..."

Shelby's P.O.V

Bella may seem all nice and friendly, but really, she's a manipulator. Lauren... she was my friend once. But Bella just had to rip it all away with her lies and zero remorse. So when I saw her with Cory, I immediately got angry. I had Max, Ross and my younger brother Ethan to hold me back this time. "Shelby, people will suspect things," Ethan warned.

"And they don't already?" I continued trying to wriggle out of their grip.

"Because you don't think before you act. Do you know how much effort it is to cover up your tracks? And by the end, you end up killing your 'Senpai' anyway."

I finally managed to break free. "Because they hurt me! Who else am I meant to take my anger and sadness out on?! You don't understand. None of you do." I started to walk away. I turned back to the boys and added, "You never will."

When we got home after school, I didn't even bother with a hello to our oldest sibling, Stacy (she doesn't do high school anymore, she recently finished). I ran upstairs and into my room, slamming the door behind me. It wasn't long before there was a knock at my door. I sighed. "Go away," I grumbled.

"Naw, come on, Shelbs," I heard Stacy say. "I got this cool new toy for ya."

"I'm not in the mood."

"I went through so much struggle to get it for you."

"I don't care, talk to me later."

"Shelby, let me in."

"No!"

"Do you want to suffer the consequences?"

I froze. When Stacy got mad, she got mad. She... almost understood me in a way. She got rid of anyone who upset her, except for family of course. But we still did get injured if she got mad enough. I went and unlocked my door. Stacy walked in, making sure the door was shut behind her. She pulled something out of her pocket. "Check it out," she smirked.

A cleaver. "How the Hell did that fit in your pocket?" I asked.

"That doesn't matter. All those bodies in the basement, you could chop 'em easily with this thing. Do whatever you wanted with 'em. Skin them, get the bones, you could make stuff with the body parts. But most importantly, it hurts. You can end someone slowly, or quickly."

Stacy placed the cleaver on the bed, and I picked it up. It was slightly heavier than I was used to, but nothing I couldn't handle. "Thanks, Stace," I smiled. She hugged me. Although she was violent, she was still loving. "Love you. And remember, you can talk to me. What were you so upset about?"

"Cory's with ANOTHER girl, and I'd only killed his girlfriend literally half an hour before. And Max, Ross and Ethan just don't understand that I do what needs to be done. When those boys don't love me, that upsets me. And we all know what happens next."

"Don't listen to them. Do what your heart tells you."

And you know what my heart was telling me at that moment? To give Max, Ross and Ethan a good... 'talking' to.

I told Max and Ross to come over to my house, and I told Ethan to meet me in my bedroom. Once I had all three of them, I could see the fear in their eyes. "Why don't you respect me for my choices?" I asked.

"Because you're choosing to kill people," Max replied, his voice shaky.

"I do it for the best. For me and for the boy. Why don't you get that?"

"We do get that! But it's just wrong."

"It is not! It's in the name of love!"

"It's also against the LAW."

I clenched my fists, and I could see Max was getting angry too. "You are a great person, but you kinda ruin that by going around killing people," Ross pointed out.

"What, so you want me to mess up the both of you?" I asked. "Gladly. Stacy got me this cool new toy. It's called a cleaver."

Ethan stepped in front of Max and Ross, a look of desperation and disappointment on his face. "We had a promise, Shelby," he said. "You don't kill friends or family. Please, just put it down, we'll let you do what you want to."

I put the cleaver down on the desk behind me. But before Ethan could breathe a sigh of relief, I punched him in the face. He stumbled back, hands over his face, the blood trickling down his hands through the gaps between his fingers. Ross pulled him out of the room. "Uncle Ron! Uncle Ron, quick!" I heard him begin to shout.

Max looked at me. "Why you..." the rest of his sentence was too quiet to hear. He kicked me in the shin. I took in a sharp breath and kicked him off of his feet. He dug his nails into my leg, but I shook him off. He stood again and pushed me to the ground. "You never get a taste of your own medicine, do you?" he asked.

I watched him leave the room.

(Okie so i was just having a discussion with me and I decided most of it is gonna be in Shelby's P.O.V (as if that wasn't the case already) because i'm stumped in what to do for Cory's so ye)

Tyler's body was still in the basement (shut up ok this is a story the body can still be there). The cleaver felt heavier than what it did before. I forced the blade down on the dead body's elbow, seperating the forearm from the rest of the body. Little blood was on the cleaver. I stared at Tyler's body. "They always say love is worth fighting for," said a voice from behind me.

I didn't turn, but I heard footsteps echoing, and Meghan stood next to me. She took the cleaver from my hands and put it on a table. I looked up at her with tears in my eyes. "I-I..."

"Shelby, listen to me here," Meghan said, her hands on my shoulders. "I love you, to the end of the universe. And I would do anything to keep you safe. But you can't just go around killing people who get in the way of who you love. Love is a feeling that... it's mostly indescribable. But one thing is being happy to see who you love happy, and you should be happy with Cory's choices. He's smiling, everyday. Doesn't that just make you feel even a spike of warmth?"

"Bella hurt me. I'm only protecting him from the toxic girls around him. I mean, his girlfriend died and then he immediately got a new one. Bella's a manipulator, you should know that!"

"I do. But-"

"Stop with the doubts." I moved away from Meghan. "I'm gonna do what's right. What I feel is right. That is... if right and wrong even exist anymore."

I stalked up the stairs.

The voices in my head were loud. Normally, they were nothing more than a whisper. But now, they're shouting. Crying. Screaming. 'Ignore what they're all telling you! Cory loves you, he just doesn't see it!'

I tossed and turned, struggling to get to sleep. Eventually, I squealed in frustration. "STUPID VOICES!"

It didn't take long for a soft knock to drift through the air. "Shelby, can I come in?" Ethan asked.

I sat up, eyes wide. "Um... sure?" I replied.

Ethan waddled in, obviously still partly asleep, and with the door shut behind him, he sat on the end of my bed. "What are they saying?" he asked gently.

"To ignore everyone. He does love me, Ethan," I replied, "even if he doesn't realise it yet."

"You know what? I won't stop you anymore. You're confident in this, you know what you're doing, and I don't. Just don't get all worked up about it. Convince yourself that those voices are speaking for what you already believed, they'll shut up eventually."

I smiled. Ethan grabbed my hand and squeezed it before standing. "And you owe me a milkshake for waking me up," he whispered.

"A blood milkshake," I whispered back.

"Have you ever had someone else's blood?"

"Yeah, it tastes the same as your own."

"Okay, but if I don't like it, you're making me another in a flavour I like, deal?"

"Yep okay."

Ethan looked at me before leaving the room.

Ethan wrinkled his nose at the red milkshake in front of him. It was obvious that he never thought he'd wake up one Saturday and drink the blood of another, but hey, you never know what could be around the corner. "And who's blood is this again?" he asked.

"Tyler's," I replied.

"And it's not stale?"

"Nope, had some of it before I made the shake."

Hesitantly, Ethan took a sip. He gagged, but he swallowed. "Would it taste better with fresher blood by chance?" he asked.

"Eh probably. I'll make ya one next time I kill someone. Now, I need to ask you something."

"Ah, chocolate milkshake?"

"Yes, yes, in a minute."

"What do you wanna ask me?"

"So you dated Bella at one point. What can you tell me about her?"

"Honestly... not much. But my girlfriend is 'friends' with her." He put 'friends' in air quotation marks.

"What do you mean? Also, you have a girlfriend?"

"Yes! You'll see. If you come out with me today."

"Okay..."

I got up and made Ethan a milkshake, as promised. So we ate breakfast, got dressed and yadda, yadda, yadda, and when I met up with Ethan again in the kitchen, he was looking at his phone and smiling. "Okay, come on, I can't wait for you to meet her!" Ethan practically dragged me out of the house and to the park not far from our house. A girl wearing all black was staring at a group of kids kicking a ball around. She had a basket next to her on the picnic blanket, and she had a faraway look in her eyes. "Mika!" Ethan exclaimed, catching the girl off guard.

"Hey Ethan!" she smiled. The pair hugged as I awkwardly sat down with them.

"Mika, this is my older sister Shelby. Shelby, this is my (recent) girlfriend Mika."

"Hi," I said, shaking Mika's hand.

"Ethan mentioned you needed help?" Mika asked, opening the basket to reveal lots of food.

"Yeah. He said you were 'friends' with Bella." 'Friends' was in air quotation marks.

"Oh. Yeah, her parents are friends with my parents so we're kind of forced to hang out. She thinks I'm actually her friend, but I'm not. What did you wanna know about her?"

"Where does she live? Where does she normally hang out on a Saturday?"

"May I ask... why do you wanna know that?"

"Ethan can tell you... it'll be easier hearing it from him."

Ethan's eyes widened. I nodded at him. He looked Mika dead in the eye and said, "Tell a single soul about this and Shelby will literally kill you."

"Um..." Mika raised an eyebrow. "I won't tell anyone."

"You sure?"

"Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my eye."

"Good. Now, she has a mad crush on this one kid at school, who's hanging out with Bella now. Shelby needs to be dating this boy, and so Bella must be... gone."

"So she kills people?"

"Yeah. Who get in the way of her love."

"Oh, sweet, you're killing the brat. I'll tell you everything."

Bella was to go to Mika's house, so of course, I also went. I was hidden though; Bella wasn't supposed to see me straight away. As Mika, Ethan and I walked down the street, I noticed Mika looked quite anxious. "You good?" I asked.

"Yeah," Mika replied. "Just... can't believe you're going to kill someone in my house. And I'll know about it."

"It can be quite the burden. But if you really can't deal with it, see my Dad. He can help you out."

"How?"

Ethan and I smiled. In unison, we said, "Family secrets!"

I hid in Mika's closet. A lot of it was black. But I could hear full well what was going on. When Mika was ready, we had a codeword we were to say for me to jump out and strangle Bella. I heard Bella and Ethan being introduced to each other and yadda, yadda, yadda. Finally, Mika's Dad came and said, "Us adults are going out for a bit. Call us if you need anything."

I grinned. It was almost time!

The bedroom door closes and a few more minutes go by. "So... now what?" Bella asked.

"Hm... I dunno. What do you wanna do?" Ethan answered.

"Well..." Mika said. I could practically hear her smile. "Bella, I actually have one little surprise..."

This was it. The codeword had been said. I jumped out of the closet, and before Bella could say anything, I had her in a chokehold. "You stole my man," I told her. "That's not allowed."

"Y-your man..?" Bella coughed out.

"Yes. You got in the way, now you're gonna pay."

"Wait... Zara's death... it was on you! And...and Tyler, and all the girls who fell for him!"

"Mhm!"

"You're sick!"

"She's apart of the family," Ethan shrugged with a smile.

"What... are you crazy too?!"

"In a way. It's in our blood, dude."

Bella looked at Mika. "And you... did you know? Are you gonna help me?"

Mika chuckled, "I always hated you, Bella." She smiled at me. "Whenever you're ready, Shelby."

I giggled, and then I squeezed Bella's neck.

She tried to scream, but to no avail. Eventually, her body dropped to the floor, her fingers twitching slightly before her body went completely still. Mika stood in disbelief. "I just witnessed that..." she whispered.

"And not a soul is gonna know about it, got it?" I hissed, kicking Bella's dead body.

"Y-yeah... I won't tell anyone."

"Good. Not like I'd kill you for letting it slip anyway, I made a deal to not kill family or friends. I'd still mess you up hard though."

"I just don't wanna get hurt... I don't want to mess with you."

"Dang right you don't. Now, Ethan here will help you carry on the plan. But I've gotta leave, I have stuff to do. I'll catch you both later."

Ethan was gone for the rest of that day, arriving home while the rest of us ate dinner. "Ethan... where have you been?" Dad growled.

"Um..." Ethan mumbled in reply.

"Well?! You've been gone all day without an explanation!"

"Don't get mad at him, Dad," I cut in. "I... he did it as a part of our plan."

"Shelby, what did you do this time?"

"She was in the way of Cory!"

"My girlfriend Mika and I helped Shelby get rid of another of Cory's 'lovers'. Long story short, Mika had to act really traumatised and I stayed with her family to show that I wasn't suspicious of anything," Ethan explained.

"Oh..." Dad said. He looked at me. "Honestly, Shelby, you are too much like your Mother."

"What?" I chuckled. "Crazy? We're all a bit crazy in this family!"

"Am I crazy?" Meghan asked.

"Um... Stacy and I must've inherited the crazy from Mom! I don't know!"

"Yeah... I agree with you on that one." Meghan glanced nervously at Stacy.

Stacy frowned at her. "What?" she asked. "You scared of me?"

"No! Yeah, I don't know! I thought that comment would offend you."

"The comment about me being crazy? I won't show offence to the truth, Megs. It's fine. I have to tell you that too much these days."

Meghan sighed, pushing her plate of food away from her. "I don't feel safe in this house anymore," she whimpered.

Dad looked around at all of us. "Meghan, sweetie," he said gently, reaching for Meghan's hand. "You won't get hurt. You're family."

"That doesn't make a difference! Stacy and Shelby could easily break that promise! A promise is nothing more than words. What if they kill me? What if I accidentally upset them and they get mad and stab me in the heart?! I don't like it, Dad; they need help!"

Meghan burst into tears. Everyone sat quietly before I wrapped my arms around Meghan. Stacy did the same. "We'd never hurt you, Meghan," I whispered. "We love you so much. You've put up with us for this long."

"And we're always here for you," Stacy continued. "No matter what."

Ethan joined the hug, and so did Dad, and we were having a family group hug. "I love you guys," I smiled.

I saw Cory in tears on the ground. Jess smirked. "Go on, talk to him," she nudged me.

My face flushed. "I can't just go over to him!" I panicked.

"None of this will be worth it if he never finds out you like him. Now go."

I sighed, and I smiled, and I went and sat down next to him. "Hey... you okay?"

Cory looked up at me. Fear and anger flashed in his eyes. "No!" he hissed. "I'm not, can't you see?! Another of my girlfriends have died! I'm nowhere near okay!"

"They must've meant a lot to you, huh."

"They did. But you know what it's like to love. I've heard the rumours. You take things too far."

Cory's P.O.V (i wasn't expecting this either tbh)

It all lead up to her. The way she looked at me, the disappearance of both of the girls who'd been kind to me, the rumours about Shelby Grace... the crazy love-sick look in her eyes. "I have a suspicion this is all your fault," I spat, standing from the grass. "And I don't wanna associate with an insane killer. What you did to that Tyler boy... those rumours are all true, aren't they?"

"N-no!" Shelby cried. "They're no more than rumours! They're just LIES. I'm not a monster!"

"I'd like to think otherwise."

"Please... if you just got to know me... maybe we'd..."

"NO! HECK NO! Leave me alone."

I stalked away, immediately regretting all I had said. That girl was capable in so much. I'd just put myself in danger. I felt something hard hit my head, and I fell, unconscious, to the ground.

I awoke in a basement. My legs and arms were tied to a chair. I heard the sound of a blade sharpening, and I looked around to see Shelby, a huge knife in her shaking hand. She threw the knife recklessly across the room and instead ended up grabbing a cleaver that was on the table next to her. "Good!" she grinned as she saw me. "My love, you're awake!"

"Sh-Shelby..." I stuttered. "Please... d-don't hurt me..."

"We can make a deal!"

"Deal..."

"If I let you go, we have to be together for ever and ever!"

Something in my gut drove me to say the fatal word. "Never."

Shelby's P.O.V

I felt my eye twitch. "No..?" I whispered. I laughed. "No?! Well then, you're outta chances, bud. I really did love you, Cory. You know that now. But I know you don't love me back."

"I-" Cory began. But I didn't wanna hear his voice.

"That's enough. You've hurt me. You'll pay for it. I promised my brother I'd make him a blood milkshake, with fresh blood. I think your blood would work pretty well. This here cleaver was given to me by my dear sister. It's going go be tested out on you."

"Surely you don't have to d-"

"If I can't have you..." I chuckled. "If I can't have you, then NO-ONE CAN.

Cory started to cry. "PLEASE! I'M SORRY, SHELBY. I'LL GET TO KNOW YOU, I'LL LEARN TO LOVE YOU! LET ME LIVE!"

I thought for a second. "You can't love me. Not after all you know. I can't risk you going to the authorities. Dad obviously didn't take care of you well. Whatever, you'll be dead in a minute anyway."

"PLEASE, NO!"

"Any last words that  aren't  pleas to let you roam free?"

"Don't harm anyone like this again... get some help... your head is in a bad place, you're making so many mistakes."

I giggled. "Being crazy is in my blood. Killing others is an escape for me. You can't stop me, no-one can. I'm insane, and I like it! Now, goodbye, my love. Don't miss me. I sure as Hell won't miss you."

Before Cory could say another word, hysterical laughter took over me, and I swung the cleaver into Cory's neck, hacking at it, enjoying the cracks of his bones, enjoying the bloody mess it was making. It didn't take long before his head had come off, that look of sadness and fear forever on his face.

I quietened down.A wave of guilt about this all washed over me. I didn't feel it before. But also sadness, like what I felt with Tyler's death. I really thought this would be the one, the relationship, that Cory and I were meant to be.

I chuckled at my thoughts. How ridiculous, I actually cared about what that monster did to hurt me!

No-one was going to hurt me like that again.

Ever.
