His mind was blank and but the feeling of air knocked him awake. The room was damp and small. The darkness didn't help. Katsuki could make out just about the grimy floor he had laid on. He felt around before his eyes adjusted to the best of their abilities. The room was small. It felt like the kind of underwater dungeons he'd hear in stories. Just tall enough for him to stand in. The crack of light told him there was light from outside.

Muffled voices were heard. None familiar to him but the feeling of being chased crashed in on him. The memory of being taken. His hand moved toward his mouth to keep himself quiet. He couldn't think. It was too quiet but the silence was too loud. The room made him feel small and dirty and useless.

"Oh, Shiggy I think he's awake now!" No no no no-

"Tch so you really are awake."

"Kacchan we want to come with you," Izuku called out as he and Iruka chase after Katsuki and their friends.

"Well come on, you two are slow." Katsuki huffed.

"Happy Birthday Izuku," Katsuki grumbled as he handed the smaller boy a gift.

Iruka smiled as she watched the interaction. They were in an empty classroom and school was almost over before summer came rolling by.

"Kacchan look what Izuku can do!" Iruka called out to the blonde as she pointed at Izuku doing a handstand. 

Izuku fell forward and face-planted into the ground, Katsuki burst out as Iruka helped him up.

"Kacchan that's mean." Izuku pouted.

"I'm not mean Izuku you just need more practice."

"Iruka, Izuku, Katsuki come on down Hizashi made dinner!" Shota yelled out.

The 3 kids scrambled downstairs but as Iruka went down the stairs the lower level got brighter and brighter-

Iruka groaned, shielding her eyes from the bright lights above her.

"Hey Listener, good to see you're awake." Iruka's head was still throbbing and thankfully Hizashi got the memo as he passed her a cup of water and some pills.

"How are you feeling?"

'head pain.'

"Want me to turn the lights off?"

'No. We where?'

"Hospital. Do you remember what happened?"

'Attack.' Iruka tried to sit up as she recalled what happened. 'Green where? Explosion? Classmates?' Iruka frantically signed.

"Izuku hasn't woken up yet but he'll be fine. Your classmates are all recovering well."

'Explosion? Where he?' Hizashi wasn't sure how to answer that. They had yet to figure out where the LOV had taken Katsuki. 

Iruka curled in on herself. He's gone. They can't find him. Where? Where? Where? Where?

"Iruka, you need to breathe. We're finding him and we will find him. He won't be gone for long, I promise." Hizashi pulled Iruka into a hug.

"Papa, how long was I out?"

"13 almost 14 hours." Iruka hummed in response.

It had been that long since Katsuki got kidnapped. Who knew how much longer it would take for him to be found.

"Hey kid, glad you're awake." Shota shut the door behind him.

"Dad!" Iruka gave him a hug.

Shouta looked like his tired self. There was a tint of relief as he hugged his daughter back.

"Feeling ok kid?"

"Ya, a little."

"Kid, Todoroki told me you knew one of the villains. Is it true?"

"I didn't know him. Well kind of. It's complicated."

"Iruka,"

"I-I didn't tell him about camp if that's what you're getting at. We didn't talk about school or camp or-or-"

"Iruka that wasn't where I was getting at but I do need to know how you know him."

"He sorta followed me one time. I called him out and we just talked. He told me Shigaraki called me interesting. When I got close to home he stopped following me saying he didn't want to get in trouble and told me to call him Dabi."

"When did this happen?"

"A few days before camp."

"And you didn't think to tell any of us?"

"I didn't think it would have to come up. He didn't try to hurt me."

"Iruka you can't be naive like that. He had connections with the League so even if he didn't hurt you we could've been one step closer to capturing the league."

"I'm sorry."

"Apology accepted but if you approach anyone or if anyone approaches you like that again you have to tell somebody. Do you understand?"

"Ya Dad. Sorry."

"Let me help you find him."

"Iruka you know we can't allow that."

Iruka had spent another day in the hospital due to the fever she had. During that time there was still no news of Katsuki. Some of her classmates would come to visit, occasionally she would go visit her classmates who were still unconscious but neither stopped the feeling that clawed at Iruka's insides.

"But you know I can find him faster. I can sniff him out. I can help, Dad please."

"We'd love your help Listener but it isn't safe." 

Today Iruka would be discharged.

"You can't just make me sit and wait while the League is doing who knows what to him."

"Unfortunately that's all you can do Iruka." Shouta's voice was firm. He didn't want Iruka to risk herself doing the things Pro Heroes were doing.

Iruka clenched her fists. "I'm going to go visit Izuku,"

Iruka knocked on the door before she walked in. She walked in to see most of her classmates were there. She looked at them curiously before she noticed Izuku sitting up.

"Izuku!" She rushed over to give him a hug. "I'm so glad you're awake."

"Iruka, I'm glad you're awake too."

"Iruka, you're getting discharged today right?" Ochaco asked.

"Oh uh ya, I am."

"Iruka, would you like to join us?" Shoto asked.

"What?"

"We're planning on rescuing Bakugo. Will you join us?"

"Wait back up a minute. You plan on saving Kacchan. That involves not knowing where the villains are, how many there are around him and not knowing if you'll come back alive yourselves."

"We don't know what they're doing to him that's why we want to save him." Iruka noticed the way Eijirou's nose and the rims of his eyes were ever so slightly red.

"Didn't you hear what Ito just said? You could die trying to find him!" 

"Not just that but you'll also be breaking the law." 

"We aren't breaking the law if we don't use our quirks." Izuku retorted.

"Don't tell me you're actually going to go through with this? Izuku you have broken arms."

"And you don't want to go through this?"

"Of course I do! I want to go after him just as much as anyone else in this damn room but the more people that go the more people are going to get hurt trying."

"What are you getting at?" Izuku stared at her.

"I- ugh look. If anyone in this room tries to go find Katsuki I wish you the best of luck." Iruka turned around to leave. "I'll help and make sure you don't get expelled."

I hope this wasn't the worse chapter to start my mini hiatus with.

Every chapter for a good while will be purely re-write chapters. I'll try not to drag it out by maybe doing a double post but of course that will depend on how busy I am. If you haven't read the re-write chapters this is a great time to go read them. If you're an old time reader and somehow remember the early chapters, tell me what you thought of the changes.
