Chapter 60

CW: Canon violence and mentions of abuse at the end

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Woah Kaminari, Sero I didn't know you were here. How did you manage to get tickets to the party?" Iruka asked.
"Oh, Tokoyami gave us their tickets. Xe said Xe didn't want to go to something like this." Denki explained
"You look good Shinso."
"Uh thanks, Iida, you and Todoroki look great yourselves." Hitoshi complimented.
Tenya had been complaining about everyone's incapability to be on time when Kyoka and Momo walked in. The two walked in with their own unique fits and Denki complimented them as such. It didn't take long after for Ochaco and Melissa to arrive. There was chatter about the whereabouts of Eijirou and Katsuki before an announcement was made.
The entire island was going on lockdown and some of the major buildings would close off as a precaution. The reasoning behind it was a so-called bomb being found somewhere on the island. Melissa had found the reasoning odd since this was not the protocol if explosives were to be discovered.
Izuku told them that All Might would be at the party which of course surprised all of them. He had suggested getting to the party in hopes of figuring out what was really happening.
Which brought all of them to now. They were just a floor above where the party was being held. There was a glass ceiling just above the stage and to their luck (well not really) All Might was there, unfortunately in some kind of restraint. Iruka tasked herself by getting the Pro's attention as she flew above him as a small bird.
Iruka chirped at Izuku, telling him she got All Might's attention.
"Hope he picked up sign language or something," Iruka mumbled as Kyoka put her earpiece to the wall to listen to whatever All Might would say then Izuku signalled for him to start talking.
Villains had taken over the building, making everyone on the island their hostage, the heroes didn't what they were after. All Might told them to stay put. Of course, that wasn't going to happen.
"Dude I know we're heroes in training and all but like come on these are actual villains," Hanta said.
"We don't even have our provisional licenses either." Ochaco reminded them.
"We don't have to fight them, just get the heroes free is all," Iruka explained
"Alright, how do you suggest that?" Denki asked.
"We could restart the system," Melissa suggested, "if the villains got into the security system then it means the passwords and authentication locks have been disabled. I think it's possible."
"Well that's a start, so where is it?"
"It's on the top floor. It'll take some time to get there but I don't think we can just sit here and wait."
"Then let's go there."
Hitoshi and Iruka bid goodbye to the others and quickly fled to the party to make sure everyone is safe. They were meant to be a distraction of sorts before the villains caught a whiff of their plan. That and they'd have to give All Might a rundown on the ludacrousy they called a plan.
"I hope this is where the- Woah!"
"What the hell are you doing here kid?"
"I'm just here for the party, see got invitations and everything." Hitoshi held up his invitation and some of the villains looked at each other confused.
"Seems like you didn't get the memo kid. There ain't a party but I'm sure you'd love to join a death day parade." One of them smirked and grabbed Hitoshi by the hair, dragging him to the front of the stage. "Anyone make a move and I'll pop this kid's head open first." Silence followed and no one dared to do anything.
Hitoshi looked at All Might as he shifted his hands slightly, hoping he didn't make any sudden moves. 'I-r-u-k-a room in, want help everyone.' All Might looked confused but got the message. His students had some kind of plan up their sleeve and all he could do was wait.
Iruka moved quietly under the eatery table. She had entered the room as a fly when Hitoshi walked in and went under the table for her next plan of action. She slowly crawled to the edge of the table where some people had been placed. She tapped on the ground lightly as to get their attention but hopefully not startle them.
"I'm Animia and I'm here to help. I'll pull you under the table but do not make a sound." Iruka whispered. The person lightly tapped on the floor and Iruka took this as an ok as she grabbed the civilian under the table. They were surprised to see a child but as promised did not make a sound.
Iruka did this a few more times and even did this using the other tables in the room, making sure she didn't grab a hero or too many people in an area because if she was lucky the villains wouldn't notice the depleting number of civilians in the room.
"What do you mean there are kids?" One of them spoke. "Fine, I'll send 2 up. You two get to the 80th floor. A bunch of kids are running around the building and they might just ruin the fucking plan."
Iruka silently prayed that the villains didn't connect the dots to Hitoshi being here and their friends heading up. Wait 80th floor? How bloody tall is this building? Gosh, why didn't I ask Melisa?
There were only soft whispers flowing around the room. All Iruka and Hitoshi could do right now is wait. They weren't sure what they were waiting for but they just did. Iruka was getting antsy and so were some of the civilians under the table.
The lights went out and Iruka took that as the signal. Restarting a system is just turning it off and on again right? Iruka slipped out from under the table.
"What the hell is going?" One of the villains asked.
Iruka moved quickly to attack. Knocking one of them to the ground. Iruka quickly moved towards Hitoshi tossing him her capture weapon. Iruka flew to a corner placing herself onto a beam as she changed her fingers to tentacles and grabbed two villains and knocked them together. 3 down 5 more to go. Some of them had started shooting in Iruka's direction and as shitty as that was it was better than shooting anyone else. The heroes were still restrained so they just had to buy a little more time.
"You have something to do with this you little shit?" The villain started to come closer to Hitoshi, gun in hand.
"Nope, but I think you do, don't you?"
"Why you little-"
"Order your friends to ceasefire."
The order was made. The other villains were confused but Iruka moved quick. Grabbing some of them and knocking them with the others. Hitoshi quickly used the capture weapon to immobilize the villains and tie them up.
The emergency lights finally turned on and everyone in the room finally got a good look at everything that had happened in the dark. The heroes were finally free which included All Might.
"Young Ito where are the others?" He asked.
"Up on the roof, I can show you-" Iruka paused looking at her friend and the villains tied up on the floor.
"Go we can deal with things here." One of the heroes spoke. Iruka nodded.
"Follow me." Iruka changed her hands into wings and rushed out the door, leaving Hitoshi and the other heroes to deal with the civilians and villains in the room as needed.
"Are you sure you'll be ok? Do you even still have time?"
"Can't worry about that right now Young Aizawa, we need to find the others." Iruka gave a quick nod before she flew out a balcony door and went straight up. All Might jumped up with full force, scarily managing to catch up with Iruka.
They reached the roof in time to see Izuku fighting the villain. Iruka went against herself and went to protect her friends as All Might went to help Izuku. The others were roughly huddled near the entrance to the roof, looking absolutely exhausted.
A piece of metal went flying their way and before it could smash through anything, Iruka bolted towards the thing and grabbed it with monkey legs and tossed it in the villain's direction. All Might must've seen the thing because he managed to direct it towards the villain's face giving both him and Izuku the opening they needed to finally finish the job.
Cheers or congratulations and joy were heard from the little group of students. Other than quirk exhaustion and a few minor injuries everyone was fine, tired but fine.
Eventually, police and medical helpers on the island got to them and as the villains were arrested Iruka and her friends got looked over. Hitoshi too was united with them. The party was cancelled and David Shield himself had offered for any kind of room service they asked for throughout their stay for both protecting him and the people on the island. They'd also have dinner sent to their rooms because everyone was asked to return to their hotels to rest. There were no rejections so everyone lugged themselves back to their hotel rooms.
"I could sleep for three centuries," Iruka said as she flopped onto the floor.
"Same." Hitoshi flopped next to her.
"Best to get change before our century-long sleep huh?" Iruka joked.
"Sure I'll get changed first."
===========
"Did you always have that scar?" Hitoshi asked as he pointed at Iruka's back.
Hitoshi had finally gotten cleaned and when he entered the room he saw Iruka by the table texting somebody, her back turned towards him.
"Oh ya. It's a pretty old one." She seemed so casual about it.
"Shouldn't it be like faded by now?"
"They never healed properly so I guess they never faded properly either. It's fine though, it's a reminder that I survived."
"Survived what?" There was an air of concern in his question. Wondering what you had to survive. Wondering why it never healed.
"My past."
"Oh. Oh I'm sorry I asked. I didn't mean to offend you."
"No no. You didn't offend me Toshi. It was years ago."
"Before you met Aizawa Sensei?"
"Yup." She replied popping the p happily. " Wait you don't think he did this do you?"
"Nononono I didn't. I don't think he'd do that, at least I hope he wouldn't do that."
"I doubt he would. Anyways you can eat dinner I'm going to clean out of this dress."
==========
Iruka and Hitoshi were huddled up under their blanket as the end credits rolled. Iruka had talked Hitoshi into winding down with a movie as they finished the last of their dinner (They were given spaghetti and burgers with cake for dessert). Hitoshi fell backwards as he let out an exhausted sigh. Iruka giggled and got up to put their leftovers into the fridge, maybe for tomorrow. Hitoshi finally gave into Iruka's convincing and laid on the other side of the bed while Iruka belly-flopped on.
"I've never been in a hotel before I almost wish we didn't have to sleep."
"Ya no you're going to sleep. We can explore more tomorrow." Iruka turned to Hitoshi and pouted.
"Party pooper." Hitoshi smiled, how childish.
"If you tell me stories I might stay up with you."
"Really really?" Hitoshi nodded. "I don't know any good stories though. At least none you haven't heard of before."
"Any good ones from before you met Aizawa?"
"Heh digging up my mysterious past Toshi?" Hitoshi gave a panicked look, scared he might've overstepped. "I kid Toshi~ I don't really have good ones necessarily. Barely remember it but it was scary well I think it was 'cause again I don't exactly remember it."
A pause. Hitoshi yawned before gesturing for Iruka to continue.
"I do remember the day Dad found me!" Iruka perked up. "Well, most of it at least. She, my mom, wasn't the nicest person. I mean neither of them were, my biological parents I mean. But that day it was different. My quirk came in. It isn't like theirs or at least that's what I was told."
"So your quirk coming in made it different?" Iruka hummed.
"It was just one of those days but when they left me in the room, beaten, broken and bruised, my quirk activated. She found me as a cat and I was kicked out, surprisingly not literally. I had never left the house beforehand so it was all so new to me. Dad found me soon after and the rest is history." Iruka yawned.
"So where are they now? Do you know what happened to your biological parents?"
"Papa says they're in a prison somewhere near Tokoname. I've never visited them. Barely remember their faces so I don't think I should."
"I don't think you should either." Hitoshi's eyes were closed at this point, he must've been fighting to stay awake.
Iruka hummed in agreement as she too closed her eyes. The exhaustion finally rushed into her. There wasn't much said after that and slowly they drifted into a calm slumber.
