Chapter 5(Re-Write)

The night was not kind to either of them. The kid barely slept through the nightmares and jumped at every little sound. It was only when she saw the sun outside that she calmed down enough to sleep. She was twitchy and woke up the second her doctor or nurses walked in but it was much better than when it was dark out.
A familiar blond walked into the room just after breakfast. The kid shied away but the smile on Hizashi's face never faltered.
"Hey Little Listener, I'm Hizashi Yamada. I'm a friend of Eraserhead."
The little girl's face scrunched up slightly before turning to Shouta.
"Good man?"
"Yup he's a good man." She gave a nod before turning back to Hizashi.
"Can we be friends?" Hizashi could feel his heart melt right then and there.
"Course we can Listener."
Shouta allowed himself to rest knowing the kid was in safe hands. Not that he didn't trust the doctors, she just hadn't had anyone else to interact with until Hizashi came along so let him enjoy his peace and quiet.
Nurses and doctors filtered in and out all through the morning. Hizashi talked on and on about all sorts of things. Shouta had told him about her lack of knowledge on everything so the blond started simple like plants and animals, the kid had to basically start from square one.
"She's stable enough to go to the gardens outside if you'd like," a nurse said while she was checking vitals and listening to their conversation. The three of them agreed to it and the nurse left to go get a wheelchair.
Shouta absolutely enjoyed being pushed around by Hizashi. He had learned that the kid didn't like being out in open spaces, preferring to press up against anything. Apparently, the wheelchair was one of those things and so Shouta sat in it to hold the kid in his arms. Hizashi didn't really complain much so long as Shouta held onto the kid's IV pole.
Her doctor may not have mentioned any allergies but there was pollen flying everywhere. The gardens themselves weren't too bad. Shouta didn't stop the smile that crept up when he saw just how happy the kid was. Each question that left her mouth came out smoother and less restrained as time went on. Hizashi was more than happy to explain to the kid all he knew. He did a few google searches for a more in-depth explanation but the kid didn't really know the difference.
They strolled through the garden at least twice before the afternoon sun made itself known. After lunch, the kid took a nap. Seemed like a garden was way more excitement than a 5 year old could handle. It left the couple some time to themselves.
"So... what's her name?"
"Nobody knows 'Zashi that's the problem. The kid doesn't even know her name."
"Well, what's stopping us from giving her a name?"
"The existence of her legal parents," Shouta deadpanned.
==========
"Good evening, I'm detective Tsukauchi Naomasa and this is my colleague Detective Tamakawa Sansa, we were wondering if you knew of anyone in this area by the names Irhe and Mika?"
"Are you asking about the Akiyama's? Did someone finally call in on them?" Ah, finally something to work with. Naomasa was praying to kami that these were the people he was looking for.
"Could you please elaborate on that ma'am?"
"They've been noisy over the years. I've made a few complaints myself but they're honestly a little terrifying. I feel as though someone else moved in or something because they'd shout at another person in the house. I've called the cops on them a few times but it never stopped."
"Have you seen this other person?"
"No, not really. Though the shouts started 3 maybe 4 years ago. Oh, I hope if there is someone else they're doing ok."
"Thank you so much for this ma'am. I might be back for a follow-up statement."
"Ah of course detective."
They took their leave towards the Akiyamas' house. If she was correct there should be at least more news about them. Naomasa personally isn't one to gossip but he's sure many do. Something like being loud neighbours definitely sounds gossip-worthy.
The home itself looked decently normal. A little less well kept than most in the area but definitely nothing extremely abnormal. Naomasa strained his eyes in search of any specs of blood, trying to find any clue that the little girl had come from this house. It would've been a stretch, of course, the blood could've been washed away by the rain or the owners of the home simply washed it away.
Naomasa was greeted by a man with blood-red hair and the eyes to match.
"Good afternoon sir my name is Detective Tsukauchi Naomasa and this is my colleague Detective Tamakawa Sansa and we were wondering if you happened to be Irhe?"
"Tch ya that's me. Why the hell would a detective want to know that?"
"Has anyone else lived in this house over the past week?"
"Oi you didn't answer my question, why the fuck should I answer yours?!"
"I am currently working on a case in this area sir and I have been asking around. Now has anyone else other than yourself lived in this house?"
"Tch just my wife. You happy now?"
"Mika Akiyama I presume? Does she happen to be in the house right now?"
"Oi Mika! Some detective wants to meetcha!"
"Why the hell-"
"Good afternoon Mrs Akiyama. I was wondering if anyone else has lived in this house besides you and your husband."
"Nope, no one else." Mika was a slender woman. Naomasa could see how the girl's appearance took heavily from her. Black hair and gold eyes.
"I am sorry to say that is a lie ma'am. My quirk is lie detection and due to this both of you will be arrested for alleged abuse until proven otherwise."
"The fuck do you mean arrested? No one was abused in this house!"
"Sir if you would please come quietly-"
"Fuck off!" Irhe tried to punch Naomasa but thankfully he moved out of the way allowing Sansa to grab him and press him against the wall.
It took a bit more struggling, they finally got the couple, thankfully Mika being quieter about the whole ordeal, into their police cruiser.
"I'll let Eraserhead know we found them."
Naomasa merely nodded and turned his attention back to the road.

Hey Lovies~
I'll be honest. My mental had gone to shit a month or 2 ago (roughly around the time I started posting once every 2 weeks) And a few days ago I hit my lowest. I didn't think I could pull through and yet here I am. I'm still recovering from that episode so I haven't been able to do pretty much anything.
As I mentioned from the last chapter I posted I have exams starting this 24th which is the reason for the double post. I'll be going on a month long break (longest break I've been on wow) and won't be back until the 25th February 2022. Another reason being is I want to try getting as much of the re-write as much as possible just so that new readers don't feel so thrown off by the pacing.
I also would love if you lovelies chose the next chapter. Do you want me to post a re-write when I come back or a new one. And let me know if there's a specific format you'd prefer. Currently I will post a re-write and than a new chapter and repeat cycle but do you think I should focus on posting re-writes or just stick to my current format?
When you lovies read my story it means the literal world to me. If you enjoyed these chapters please leave a vote and/or comment it lets me know you liked it and helps others find my story.
Have a lovely day, night, weekend, whenever, wherever you are.
Remeber you are worth so so so much and you matter. If no one has told you I'll be the one to say it, I'm glad you're still here.
Stay safe,
See you on the 25th,
Bye Lovies~
