Chapter 32

Hitoshi had been waiting a good 10 minutes for Iruka before giving up and heading to the school. She probably slept in or something. He decided it was best to check that was it and not something else.

Hey Ito you there?
Don't need Aizawa on your tail
for being late.

After a while of no reply he concluded that she slept in so he gave her a call. He was glad she picked up but did not expect another person to pick up.

"Sorry if your calling for Iruka sweetie but she's having a fever and is still in sleep in bed." It was the voice of a woman and Hitoshi could only assume was her mother.

"Oh that's alright, just tell her Shinso called and uh tell her I hope she gets well soon." Not long after Shota arrived. Hitoshi realised he had very odd timing.

"Since Ito won't be joining us I'll be training you alone," Shota said sounding a little more bored than usual. Hitoshi nodded before he started his laps around the field.

Soon he was just a body of sweat. He was asked to do a similar training as the day before so his body could get used to the new training.

"Shinso think fast." Shota tried to jab Hitoshi's eyes but he moved away in time. "Your reflexes are fast."

"Ya, dad says that's a talent of mine or something. He once threw an empty milk carton to prove it." Shota looked at the boy rather confused. "It was just a joke don't worry."

"Well fast reflexes are useful but they won't be useful enough if you can't use them in combat. I'll have some of my class teach you in combat because as you can see I'm not really cut out for it."

"You're having your students teach me?"

"It'll be good training for you and I'll be supervising anyways." Hitoshi nodded and went back to his training.

Iruka woke up to someone humming. Who's humming? She opened her eyes to see some familiar green hair.

"Morning Iruka dear. Shota had me keep an eye out for you while he and Hizashi went to work. You had a high fever last night that's why they didn't have you go to school." Inko stated. "I'll be in the kitchen making some lunch want anything specific?" Iruka shook her head and Inko left the room.

I got sick? Why? And when did I get home? I went out, didn't I? As confused as Iruka was she was having a splitting headache and didn't want to make it worse with overthinking. She looked at her watch. 1 in the afternoon. I missed half the day already. After she got changed she headed to the kitchen seeing Inko cooking lunch.

"What are you making mom?" She looked at the pot on the stove.

"I made you some chicken noodle soup. Hope that's still your favourite sick meal." Inko smiled at Iruko before placing the soup in the bowl. "Come on eat up you'll need the strength to get better."

"Mom are you sure it's ok for you to be here, I mean I can take care of myself fine. Not that I don't appreciate you it's just you have work today as well, don't you?"

"Nonsense, I'm not a busy person like your fathers. Although Shota should really rest properly. Besides, you know I have a fairly flexible job." Iruka sighed in defeat and she put her focus towards her lunch. She really didn't like feeling like a burden.

She rarely ever fell sick growing up so being taken care of, even if it was Inko felt a little odd to her. Soon after lunch, Iruka played with the cats while Inko did some work on her laptop. Suddenly an odd idea came to her head. She focused on her arms and.

"Woah!" Her arms turned into red wings. The feeling didn't feel strange to Iruka as if she had done it before but Iruka couldn't figure out when she had done it. Does this mean my quirk evolved again? Or did I just got better at handling my quirk? Iruka thought to herself. She wondered if she could fly with those wings but decided she'd test it out when her dads were home.

"Iruka dear would you like to go grocery shopping with me?" Inko called out from downstairs.

"Grocery shopping?"

"Mhm. I had planned to go today so I thought I'd bring you along in case you had anything specific you want to get. Plus it'll be a little girl's day."

"Sure sounds like fun, I don't have much to do anyways." Iruka got up and dragged Inko out the door.

"Midoriya head to the staff room after classes I need you to do something," Shota said as he headed out the door.

Izuku didn't think much about it when he headed to the staff room though somewhere in the back of his head he thought he was going to get in trouble.

"Izuku you're going to be helping Shinso with some combat training. When Iruka comes back tomorrow she'll be helping as well."

"Yes sir." The two headed to a small clearing near the school where Hitoshi was. "Hey Shinso," Izuku called out.

"Oh Midoriya. Are you the one helping me with combat training?"

"Yup, let's get started."

For the next hour or so Izuku had taught Hitoshi as much of the basics as he could, the stances punches and where it would be best to strike in a given situation.

"Alright, I think that's enough for the day," Shota said turning to the two. Sometime during the training Hizashi had come down to see the training. The boys gathered their things and the 4 headed towards the station.

Iruka and Inko were enjoying a show when Shota, Hizashi and Izuku got to the house. Hizashi had offered Inko and Izuku to stay over for dinner. Though it wasn't awkward Iruka had been a little quieter than usual.

When Inko and Izuku had left for home Iruka finally looked towards her dads.

"Umm dad." Shota hummed in reply. "I'm really sorry for yelling at you yesterday and I'm really sorry for running even after you specifically said that it was dangerous." Iruka's head hung low.

Shota sighed rather lazily while Hizashi sighed in relief. "I'm glad you understand it's dangerous at the moment but I should also apologise for raising my voice and making you feel less safe." Shota slowly walked towards Iruka and pulled her into a hug.

"Oh, I have something to show you." Iruka backed up from the couple before transforming her hands into a pair of red and gold wings. Shota and Hizashi looked at the wings in awe.

"Th-that's incredible Iruka when did you start being able to do this?" Hizashi asked almost yelling.

"Uh yesterday I think. Everything is still sort of a blur to me but I've tried it with a few other kinds of animals." She exclaimed.

"Have you flown with them yet? I want to see you fly with them come on." Hizashi practically dragged Iruka out of the house leading her to the small garden outside their home while Shota followed along.

Once outside she pushed off from the ground and at first, all she ended up doing was jumping but after a few tries, she managed to take flights. Although for a few seconds Iruka still felt rather proud.

"That was incredible Kiddo."

"I'll be honest I'm impressed." Iruka and Hizashi looked at Shota in shock.

"Do my ears deceive me?"

"Papa I think I went deaf."

"Idiots." Shota scoffed before heading inside.
