Chapter 30
"Hey, guys see you after lunch." Iruka grabbed her bag and headed towards 1-C. She noticed Midnight wasn't in yet so she was a little hesitant at going in. She caught Hitoshi's eye from the door and he motioned her to come in.
Iruka slowly walked in trying to avoid everyone's eye. She knew full well everyone was staring at her. I'm one of the kids that survived a villain attack why wouldn't they stare. I don't like it when they stare.
"Hey how have you been?"
"Oh uh fine, fine." Her leg started to shake under the table and she didn't even realise it.
"I was kinda worried over the weekend since you know, I couldn't check on you." Hitoshi rubbed the back of his neck.
"Why not? I'm only a text message away."
"Well, it's because I don't have your number." Iruka mentally facepalmed. Of course, he didn't have her number. She took out her phone and handed it to Hitoshi.
"Here put your number in my phone and text yourself. That way we both have each other's numbers." Hitoshi nodded and took her phone. After a minute he handed her phone back.
"So what did you do over the weekend?"
"Homework, did a bit of shopping and I found a new Eraserhead merch you might like. Oh and train. Speaking of are you excited for the sports festival?"
"Well, that festival is more for the hero course, isn't it? Besides I can't do much if I'm pinned up against students other than to have them walk out of a fight."
"But you could get transferred," Hitoshi was so caught up with what had happened that he completely forgot about being able to transfer. "Ya if you do well enough in the festival they might think about transferring you over."
"Ok you have me hooked, I'm hyped. But, my quirk still isn't suited for combat quite yet."
"You know that's perfectly fine right. I mean look at Eraserhead. He doesn't have a very combative quirk but he still is an incredible hero. We could train together how about that? I could even teach you how to use a capture weapon if you want."
"Are you serious? Ito you're the absolute best. When should we start?"
"Hmm well I've never had to train on my own and I'm not much of a teacher so maybe we could ask Aizawa Sensei for help with that."
They chatted about the festival a bit until Midnight finally entered the class. Once class was over Iruka and Hitoshi headed to the cafeteria to meet up with Izuku and the rest of his squad.
It was the first time Hitoshi got the chance to see the rest of Iruka's friends so he'd be honest to say he was nervous but he didn't show it.
"Hey guys. This is Shinso Hitoshi the one I told you guys about from 1-C. Shinso these are some of my classmates."
"I am Iida Tenya from class 1-A. It is a pleasure to meet another friend of Iruka's."
"The name's Uraraka Ochaco."
"Uhh, I'm Midoriya Izuku, nice to meet you Shinso."
"Uh, nice to meet you guys. Sorry if I'm intruding." Hitoshi says as he hesitantly takes a seat next to Tenya.
"No need to apologise Shinso you aren't intruding at all."
"Is he always this stiffly?" Hitoshi whispered to Izuku who was in front of him.
"Kinda but you get used to it. So Shinso whats 1-C like? Your classmates I mean."
"Oh nothing interesting really. They're rather anti-social so no fun there." Shinsou replied, picking at his food.
"If you don't mind me asking what's your quirk?" Ochaco asked snarfing down her pudding cup.
"Oh uh brainwash. I can brainwash anyone that replies to any question I ask." He replied hesitantly, not really wanting to see their reaction.
"That's a really useful quirk. Especially if you were doing underground work or even an interrogation. That quirk could be useful in so many different ways." Izuku continued to mumble about how incredible Hitoshi's quirk was which almost scared him.
"Hey Izu write it down it'll last longer." Iruka sighed as she finished her food.
"R-right ya." Izuku took out his notebook and a pen that he always has on his person. "So Shinsou how many people can you brainwash? Do you think if I signed the answer you could brainwash me? How long can you hold it?"
"Oh uh, I've never tested how many is my limit. I'm not sure and I've never had to test that out either." Hitoshi replies.
"Ok Izu I think that's enough questions. Let the kid keep a few secrets up his sleeve for the sports festival." Iruka glances at Hitoshi that didn't seem quite comfortable during the conversation.
"Shinsou are you excited for the festival because I am," Ochaco says, clenching her fists rather determinedly.
"Umm ya sorta. If I do well I could get transferred to the hero course."
"You intend on changing courses?" Tenya questions chopping his hands which seemed almost threatening at the moment.
"Shinso couldn't get in the hero course because we were up against robots but I'm sure he can do well in the festival." Iruka looked at Hitoshi and gave him a smile of determination and something about it just made Hitoshi even more ready for the sports festival. Soon the bell rang which meant lunchtime was over.
"Well I suppose we'll see you around Shinso. See you." Ochaco waved as they left the cafeteria.
"It was a pleasure meeting you Shinso," Tenya says and Izuku follows him to catch up to Ochaco.
"Why don't we go see Aizawa Sensei after and ask him about training?"
"Ya sure thing. I'll see you at the teachers' lounge then after school hours."
"Yup just wait outside till I get there. See you then Shinso."
===========
Practicals that day was mostly quirk control to help with the sports festival. Once she changed Iruka rushed towards the teachers' lounge. Hitoshi was already waiting outside when she got there.
"I wonder if Aizawa sensei is here yet."
"Wouldn't you know?"
"I was changing he could've gotten here at that time. Well, one way to find out." Iruka knocked on the door and walked in barely waiting for a reply. Iruka took Hitoshi by the hand so that the staff members would see she wasn't alone. She spotted Shota and walked towards him.
"Oh, Ito do you need anything?" He must've seen Hitoshi with how professional he was acting. Not like Aizawa acted any different when Iruka was around.
"Ahh well I was wondering if you could give me and Shinso, he's from general studies, some kind of training plan. We want to get stronger for the sports festival and Shinso here wants to be able to join the hero course." Iruka had her head down mostly to not have to make eye contact with her teacher. Hitoshi noticed she didn't stutter much but he knew she didn't stutter much talking to the teachers
"If it's not too much of a bother that is," Hitoshi added hesitantly. Shota sighed.
"What's your quirk?" Shota had directed the question towards Hitoshi.
"Brainwashing sir. I can brainwash anyone that answers me."
"It's really cool. The only reason he didn't get in the hero course was because of the entrance exam, the way they used robots, it had put him at a huge disadvantage." Hitoshi's cheeks flushed red at Iruka's praise. Shota nodded and thought for a moment.
"Alright, I'll make a training schedule that should help with both quirk and endurance. I assume that's what you're after." Hitoshi and Iruka nodded. "Alright, we start tomorrow at 7 am. I need to see what I'm working with."
"Yes sir." The two say in a unison.
"Oh right before you leave. Have you had any kind of training outside of school before?"
"I run on weekends and train my quirk after school," Iruka explained.
"I don't train my quirk much I just go on jogs after school." Shota nodded and let them take their leave.
