Chapter 22

Bakugo to therapy

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Ito, shouldn't you be heading to 3-A?" Midnight asked as she entered the class.
"Oh right." She grabbed some of her books. "See you later Izu, Kacchan." She waved her friends goodbye as she walked out. Today was going to be the first day she learned English with the third years. They had spent the first few hours of the day learning normal subjects. They were to do practicals in the afternoon.
Iruka walked to 3-A feeling a little nervous. She knew the people she would be classmates but she never had to learn with them. What happens if I make a fool of myself? What if I don't understand what they're saying? Iruka was too busy overthinking to realise she had reached 3-A. She knocked before opening the door.
"Ah Ito good for you to join us. Come come we were just about to start class." Iruka hesitantly walked into the class. All eyes were on her now and she hated it. "Introduce yourself," Present Mic urged.
"Oh uh, my name is Ito Iruka, you can call me Iruka." Her hands moved as she spoke, signing her words as she went.
"Well, Ito here will be joining our classes from now on. You can go sit next to Hado." Present Mic pointed to the girl with light blue hair, a girl Iruka knew all too well.
"Hey, Iru-Chan." Nejire smiled brightly at the girl. Iruka smiled back as she took her seat.
"Now then today we'll be learning about tongue twisters. Any of you listeners can give me one?" Nejire's hand shot to the air. "Hado yes."
"She sells seashells by the seashore." She said slowly, almost twisting her own tongue.
"Yes, a very good classic. Ito would you like to give us 1." Mic looked towards the girl.
"How can a clam cram in a clean cream can?" Iruka barely said that clearly. Everyone was looking at her in awe.
"Wonderful. Now open your textbooks to page 10." And the class went on.
===========
After English Iruka headed back to her class.
"Hey guys," Iruka spoke. Everyone was with their clicks while the teacher was out, well everyone except for Katsuki though he seemed like he'd rather be alone at the moment. She had walked to where Izuku and Ochako were instead.
"Hello Ito," Tenya said swinging his arms in his usual robotic fashion
"How was English Iruka-chan?" Ochaco asked.
"It was really good. How was history?"
"We learned about the 2020 pandemic, Ms Midnight made us write essays I think I felt my arm falling off." Izuku exaggerated as he flung his arms around as if they were broken
"You're being ridiculous Izu, you write all day every day in your notebook. I hope I get essay's too."
After around 5 minutes their math teacher came, Ectoplasm. This is going to be an absolute blast. Iruka thought sarcastically. She hated math with a burning passion no matter how much Ectoplasm taught her over the years. Makes you wonder how she got third during the entrance exam. Thankfully the lesson wasn't an absolute pain since Ectoplasm knew just how to teach Iruka to get her to understand in the best way possible.
After Maths it was finally time for a subject Iruka was slightly worried for, history. It was the final subject before lunch and practicals. She waved her friends goodbye as she grabbed her bag and headed to 1-C. Unlike 3-A she didn't even remotely know anyone from that class. She was a little glad to notice that some people in that class didn't already have clicks like her own.
"Ito lovely. Come on in sweety." Iruka walked to the front of the class next to Midnight.
"Hi my name is Ito Iruka but you can call me Iruka," Iruka explained as her hands moved fluidly to he
"Ito is from 1-A class and she'll be joining your history classes from now on. Go on and sit next to Shinsou. He's the one with purple hair there in the back." Midnight whispered the last part slightly. Iruka awkwardly sat next to Hitoshi and another boy that seemed to have a few extra limbs.
"Um hi," Iruka said to the purple-haired boy next to her.
"Oh uh hey. I'm Shinsou Hitoshi." He said almost lazily. Their attention went back to their teacher. Guess we are going to learn about the pandemic.
During the lesson, Iruka had been writing little notes on her classmates. What kind of person they seemed to be. What their quirks were. It was sort of stalker-y stuff honestly. Iruka was so deep in thought she hadn't realised her name was being called out.
"Ahem, Ms Ito. I see you like writing. I'd like to see 2 300 word essays about the pandemic on my table before the end of class." Midnight said sternly. She knew full well, writing 2 essays would be a walk in the park for Iruka but she wasn't about to go full-on sadist on the girl. Midnight knew being biased wasn't the best thing in the world but she couldn't help it.
"Yes miss." Iruka started her essay immediately. She tried to hide her grin knowing full well Midnight was being nice.
After a while of writing, Iruka was stumped. She turned to Hitoshi who was busy writing his essay. "Psst Shinsou." She whispered slightly.
"Hmm?" He was still busy writing.
"Did the pandemic start in 2020 or 2019?"
"Started in November 2019 started to spread in 2020." He replied, still writing. Anti-social type maybe or maybe just incredibly focused on schoolwork like Iida. Iruka took note.
"Thanks." Iruka continued her essay and after another 10 minutes or so she was done with both her essays. How she did 600 words of writing in less than an hour is something I don't even know. Slowly she got up and walked to the front to hand in her essay.
"Done are you?" Midnight asked. Iruka nodded as she handed in her essays. "Well 'suppose you can do as you like but no noise." Iruka nodded again as she walked to her desk. She took out her analysis book and started to take some more notes on her classmates.
"How did you finish 2 essays so fast?" Hitoshi asked, shocked. Iruka finally got a good look at him. Lavender hair with matching eyes and eye bags as dark as her Dad's. He seems familiar.
"600 words isn't that bad for me. I like writing." Iruka said simply. After a little bit more Hitoshi had gotten up from his seat to hand in his essay as well.
"So you said you were from 1-A right? What's it like being in the Hero Course."
"Well we had our entire education threatened yesterday," Iruka said almost blatantly.
"Woah what do you mean?" Hitoshi had gotten slightly more invested in the conversation.
"Ah well, our homeroom teacher threatened to expel us if we didn't do well in this quirk test he made us do."
"Woah tough luck. Who's your homeroom teacher anyways?" Hitoshi was officially invested in the conversation. Hero course student really has it hard getting expelled on day one. Hitoshi thought to himself.
"Aizawa sensei. Who's yours?"
"Ectoplasm. What are your classmates like?"
"Rowdy, noisy is how I would describe them so far. There are some more reserved ones though. Was there any particular course you wanted to join?" It felt like a dumb question to ask but it also felt like the right question to ask at the same time.
"Hero course actually. Got bad points during the practicals thanks to my dumb quirk. Speaking of which, what's your quirk?"
"Transformation. I can change into any animal I like and can even make them bigger than their actual size. What about yours?"
"Oh uh, Brainwashing. I can make someone do anything I want when they answer a question I ask." Hitoshi said hesitantly. Iruka's eyes lit up as she started to write down what she just learned.
"That's such a cool quirk. It would be so useful during stealth missions." Iruka fangirled.
"You- You don't think it's a quirk for villains?"
"A quirk doesn't make a villain, their choices do. If you choose to be a hero then you'll be a hero." Iruka smiled at the boy next to her. Hitoshi felt a rush of warmth. It had been so long since someone thought his quirk wasn't meant for a villain. "Who's your favourite hero?"
"Eraserhead. He may be an underground hero but he is cool."
"Hey wow he's my favourite too. I'd love to be an underground hero just like him." Iruka gushed.
"Well, you already have the scarf to match. I have wondered why you are wearing a scarf in the middle of spring?"
"It's sort of a comfort of mine. You know I think with some capture gear you might be able to be the next Eraserhead." Iruka changed the subject.
"You think so? I think you might be the next Eraserhead before me." Hitoshi said. "You are the one in the Hero Course after all."
"Being in a hero course doesn't mean I'll be an underground hero. Besides you can transfer over if you do well in the sports festival."
"Can't do well with this kind of quirk. Especially in the one-on-one battles, they have every year. I'd need a really dumb opponent to win that."
"I'm sure you'd be able to outsmart them fine. Besides you can bring in support items with a permission slip."
"Well I suppose that's an idea but I'm not quite sure what I could bring to a battle that would help me."
For the rest of the lesson, Iruka and Hitoshi talked about the festival. Iruka was trying to encourage Hitoshi to do his best so he could join the hero course. She wanted to see her new friend succeed in his dream of becoming a hero. She may have also become slightly biased because his favourite Hero was her dad.
Once class was over it was lunch and Iruka waved her friend goodbye as she went on a search for Izuku and Kacchan. The first person she saw was Izuku so she decided to have lunch with him and some of their other classmates. She was a little confused to not see Katsuki with them.
"Hey guys, can I join you?"
"Sure Iruka," Ochaco replied as Irukaneverext to her.
"Um Izu, where's Kacchan?" They've never actually had lunch without him since becoming friends which is a little concerning for Iruka.
"Oh, I sorta went ahead and haven't seen him." He sounded genuinely sorry for leaving his friend behind but it didn't ease Iruka's concerns. She'd have to talk to Katsuki about it later, just to make sure he was ok.
For the rest of lunch, they talked about what had happened during their lessons. For a good chunk of their time, Izuku had complained to Iruka about how hard the English lessons were and Iruka could only laugh.
As they walked back to class they discussed what they would be doing for practicals that day. Everyone was chatting among themselves when the door opened.
"Walking in like a hero." A very familiar voice said. It was All Might. Everyone looked at the man in awe. For most of them, this was their first time seeing the number 1 hero. "Today's lesson will be throwing punches." All Might held out a card saying battle. Iruka could hear Katsuki say fight training and Iruka could only facepalm. Old habits die hard I suppose. "One of the key things about being a hero is looking good." He said as boxes with their seat numbers started to move out of the wall. "These were designed based on your quirk registration forms and the requests you sent in before school started. Now get suited up and head to training ground Beta."
"Yes sir!"
Well that was... Interesting?
Yes I know Midnight is the art history teacher and not the history teacher but when you don't know all the staff it can't be helped. Also I intend on adding the UA staff OCs from tik tok so anything Art related Imma just give Hina. Hopefully I can add her and many others into the story soon.
Also as I was editing this chapter I sorta wanted to cry. If you're a manga reader you'll know why😂. And yes I might mention the manga here and there so if you guys wanna talk about it feel free to dm me or just talk in the comments as long as you keep it spoiler free.
Well hope you guys liked this chapter. If you did please vote and comment, its makes me vewy happy and it lets me know you guys are still interested in the story.
Have a good day, night, weekend. Whenever wherever you are.
Bye Lovies~
