The pitter-patter of rain followed him as he jumped from one roof to another. He was patrolling around a neighbourhood, covering for another pro hero. Shouta Aizawa didn't usually patrol in this prefecture but alas, that was the life of someone who worked as an underground hero, to expect the unexpected.

Eraserhead, as he was called on the job, looked from atop a roof to see something rather curious. A little black and white cat walking along a wall. Shouta hadn't met a cat that would willingly walk in the rain let alone a thunderstorm. Something in him told him to check it out.

As he touched the ground, the sky lit up. The kitten froze for that split second. It looked like it got shook to the core upon hearing the thunder that followed. It curled up on its self, shivering from the cold or fear Shouta couldn't be sure.

"Hey little fella, let's get you out of the rain ok." Shouta picked up the kitten carefully and wrapped it in his capture weapon, being careful to not hurt it. Shouta paid no mind to the way it clawed onto him, probably scared of falling.

He spotted a playground nearby that he could take shelter in. Once the rain stopped drenching him cold he felt a sudden different weight in his arms. A kitten was no longer being held in his arms, instead, a child oh so small was curled up to his chest, holding his capture weapon for dear life.

"Hurts hurt. I hurt-" She whimpered out.

"Shh shh, tell me what hurts, I need to know what hurts so I can help ok." He said calmly as to not scare the child.

"Here," She placed a hand on her stomach. Shouta tried to shift to get a better look but the cry of pain from the kid already told Shouta it was bad. He tried to get them into a better position but with the way the kid gripped him it was almost impossible to do so without causing more damage.

He did manage to pull out his phone to ring the paramedics. In the time it took for them Shouta managed to calm the kid down enough to get a better look at the injuries. A few small cuts and bruises. The injury must've been more internal and he didn't quite like the idea of that.

==========

The ride to the hospital wasn't anything new to Shouta. Taking a victim or himself to the hospital was unfortunately not new. For some reason, this particular victim felt different. Every individual was of course but the kid caught his eyes (no it wasn't because she was technically a cat Shouta berated himself).

It was why he didn't leave upon arriving. A child wouldn't be in so much pain without their parents knowing somehow. That was something else that was itching Shouta the wrong way, the kid's parents. So no Shouta refused to leave before getting some kind of update on the kid and her parents.

=========

Being a pro hero had many perks. Part of Shouta wished hearing this wasn't.

"Her injuries indicated shes had to endure repeated blunt force trauma,"

Every word made his blood boil.

"There are other injuries as well. Untreated burn scars all over as well as unfortunately a giant cut on her back which will leave permanent scarring."

Those were things that could only happen over a period of time. Wherever the kid was staying at the moment wasn't safe and damn Shouta hated that.
