Soon enough Monday rolls around and I wasn't going to lie, I was nervous.
"You'll do amazing! I promise!" Jungkook says confidently as we appear outside of the giant building with black letters saying exactly the same thing as the card did.
"I don't think I can do this." I say as my stomach turns.
"Come on Y/n, I'll be right here the whole time to cheer you on." he says reassuringly as he rests a hand on my shoulder.
I take a deep breath and nod.
"Okay, let's go in." he says and pushes me forward.
When we get inside we both look around in amazement.
The building was even bigger inside and there was giant chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.
"Are you here for the audition?" A lady with long brown hair asks as she steps in front of us.
"She is." Jungkook says and the lady gives a small smile before giving me a number.
The number read: 25.
"Head back with the other contestants. If you're here as support follow me this way." the lady says.
"You'll do amazing! Just have fun out there!" Jungkook calls as he follows the lady, leaving me alone with a racing heart.
I take a deep breath and then head to where I was instructed.
When I get behind the curtain, I see around fifty other people and I gulp.
There was so many people here and what I could see from the people practicing, they weren't messing around.
I rest against the wall, suddenly feeling light headed.
Was I really about to do this?
There's no way I was getting in..Not with all of these amazing dancers here.
"Welcome! I would like to announce another of our very own auditions! We've picked the best of the best and if we believe your dancing and passion for this arts is strong enough consider yourself lucky to be accepted!" A lady in a big fur coat and lots of diamonds says.
"My husband and I, along with our son, will be judging your dances then choosing five contents to join our company. From there on out there is many wonderful opportunities for you! I wish you all the best of luck and now, here we go!" The lady says and the crowd cheers.
I could feel myself becoming even more nervous as she walked off of the stage and another person joined, calling out contest number one.
I watched as a guy in a black top with joggers walked out and began to dance.
My jaw fell as how amazing he was.
He was only the first person to go on and it was already tough competition.
I watched in amazement as he did every dance in the book.
He really was talented and I was starting to feel little to no confidence that I could even walk out onto the stage.
Once the guy finished dancing I was expecting the best feedback ever but was faced with seeing the mother shake her head.
From my angle, I couldn't see her husband or son so I didn't know what they thought but if it was anything like the mom's reaction, they had hated it.
How the hell am I supposed to do this if they didn't even like that?!
As more constant's numbers where called the more sick to my stomach I felt.
The current number was twenty four and knowing that I was next was starting to put me on the edge of a mental breakdown.
When the person finished and my number was called I squeezed my eyes shut and took a deep breath.
"I can do this. I'll make you guys proud."
With that, I walk out on the stage.
-
When I get onstage I look properly at the judges and my eyes widen a little upon seeing the guy from the cafe.
I don't know why I was so shocked considering this was his family's dance school.
"Contestant number twenty five, you may begin." The lady says and I let out a breath and wait for the music beat to start.
When it does I just do what I grew up doing.
I dance.
From the crowd I spot Jungkook and seeing him with that giant smile on his face seems to put me at ease.
Dancing here, right now, was putting so many memories in my head.
Dancing with my mother when I was younger, my father happily cheering us on, happiness.
Dancing was my happy place.
Or, it was?
I'd never know.
Before I even knew it, my dancing intensified.
I remembered everything my mother and I had practiced from the time I was just a small child all the way up to the time I lost her.
I could feel tears burning my eyes as I danced with my heart on my sleeve.
I knew people could sense all of the power and emotions in my dancing because they all looked lost in my performance.
When the music came to an end I ended my performance with a series of flips across the stage.
The crowd errupted in screams and cheers as my chest heaved, begging to bring air back into my lungs.
I walked off of the stage and ran to Jungkook.
When I got to him he threw his arms around me and squeezed me tightly.
"I'm so proud of you!" he says and I feel tears falling down my cheeks as I hug back like my life depended on it.
Jungkook is, and always will be, my everything.
He's been here since the beginning and he'll always be my best friend until the end.
After we pull back we sit down side by side and watch the other performers.
My heart was still racing in my chest, yet for some reason, I still felt the adrenaline coursing through my veins.
I felt alive.
-
Once everyone was finished dancing we were all called back onto the stage.
"After some serious thought, we will now announce the five contestants who are joining our school." The same lady from before says as her son and her husband join her side.
She calls out four names and I start to believe what I always knew was true.
I wasn't good enough.
I was never going to make it in this industry and I just had to accept that.
The mom then hands the microphone off to her son.
"Do the honors." his mother smiles and he nods and faces the crowd.
"The last and final contest we will be accepting is, Y/n L/n!" He says and my eyes widen as everything seemed to stop, including my heart.
Had I heard right? Did he just say my name?
My eyes met Jungkook's, only to see him cheering and even crying.
This was actually happening.
"You're the one who found her?" His mother asks and he gives a small nod and smiles.
"That proves just how well we know true talent." his mother laughs and they all bow then the people beside me grab onto my hands and we all bow, too.
"Congratulations you five. As of today you are now students at Jung's school for prestigious dancing!" Hoseok's father says and reality sets in.
I had actually did that.
I was just accepted into a dance school for highly talented dancers.
My parents would be so proud.
